THE CANYON FIELD!
The Canyon walls toward high towards the ceiling while the ground sinks downwards several levels, making the top and bottom of the field very difficult to see without special equipment. The cliff faces themselves are very steep with little ridge support for grabbing and climbing; on top of that, the rock faces themselves are very damp (moss is also present due to the continuous moisture) which makes grabbing and holding on very difficult. A few skinny trees and roots jut out from the cliff, announcing an option for land-based pokemon such as to grab and swing; however, these cannot bare that much weight and WILL break if such a thing happens. At the very bottom of the canyon’s long drop is a deep pool of water. Visually is difficult for trainers on this particular battlefield, so stadium officials have set up a special view screen on each of the trainer platforms. A mini camera will follow your pokemon around while it battles (of course, it’s programmed to back off when a pokemon does an attack) and the view screen will enable trainers to issue commands to their companions via microphone. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to FLYING type attacks.

Zinnia walked into the stadium and leaned over the rails in the trainers box. She looked down into the deep canyon. "Wow...." she said. Suddenly, an idea struck her. "Wow!" she shouted down. A faint echo bounced back. "WOW!" she shouted again, this time even louder. Zinnia laughed as she got her result.
Shadow Mew ignored her childish trainer and simply took her position on the field. Even if she had to battle, she didn't have to act like her trainer... That would be embarrassing. The mew floated silently and waited for the battle to start.
Zinnia pulled herself together, straightened her Rocket cap, and said loudly, "Team Rocket, the brave, the strong!
With our pokemon, we can do no wrong!
We are the toughest and the best!
In our battles, we beat the rest!
So heed these words that I say:
Give up now or you shall pay!"
That was her challenge poem. Time to start the battle!

Lisa calmly walked in, adjusting her glasses as she did so. She looked down into the canyon, observing each rock and crevice, formulating a strategy even before the battle had begun. She then looked to her opponent, and stifled a laugh. She had come in so serious that she didn't take notice of Zinnia until started shouting. Lisa, however, quickly dropped into a much more serious mood at the mention of Team Rocket.
Midnight passed her trainer and leaped onto one of the precious few rocks jutting out of one of the canyon walls that was strong enough to bear her weight. She stared at the Black mew and awaited her trainer's orders.

Zinnia became a little more serious, now that the battle was starting. "Okay, Ancient Power!" she shouted. "Let's win!"
Shadow Mew used her psychic powers to lift chunks of rock from the canyon walls. She caused them to spin around her body for a while, then hurled them one by one at the Houndoom. She may not like to fight very much, but she certainly wouldn't lose.

Lisa grinned as the Mew brought the rocks off the canyon wall. "Midnight! Jump up the rocks and use Bite!" Lisa commanded loudly so the Houndoom would hear.
Midnight wasted no time in running toward the Mew over the rocks being used as an attack. She dodged a few that flew too close and rushed at her opponent, teeth bared. As the Houndoom lunged at the Mew, her jaws came down like a steel trap.

"Drain Punch!" Zinnia shouted. She wanted to win this! She would win, even if the first attack hadn't hit.
Shadow Mew winced as the fangs scratched her side-- she managed to veer through the air and avoid some serious damage-- and used the draining punch on Midnight. She hoped that it would hit this time-- she already could use the hitpoints she might absorb.

Midnight winced from the mid air punch, then managed to twist around and get her back paws firmly against the wall before sliding down onto another platform.
Lisa's now cold and calculating stare analyzed the situation in the canyon below. If she could have seen the look on her own face, it would have frightened her. But, thankfully, her eyes were too focused on the battle below to catch any glimpse of a reflection.
"Midnight! Try to poison that Mew with smog!" came Lisa's command.
Midnight took no notice of her partner's change in personality. Instead, the Houndoom obediently let loose a thick purple cloud that filled the area around her and crept towards the Mew.

Shadow Mew created a bright purple bubble around herself, which blocked out the poisonous fumes. She held the force field there for a moment longer, then released it so she could do the next attack.
"Try Ancient Power again!" Zinnia called. She grinned; the battle was getting fun!
Shadow Mew pulled up some more rocks using her psychic powers. She hurled the rocks at Midnight once again before soaring a little higher, to hopefully avoid harm. That Houndoom was quite persistent.

"Midnight! Try to poison that Mew again!" Lisa once again commanded in a dry manner. Things were not going as planned.
Midnight was now starting to notice how Lisa was some how different in this battle, but didn't let it interfere with the second poison barrage. Unfortunately, Midnight's momentary distraction did let a few rocks from the ancient power hit. Only a momentary growled stalled the release of the purple gas into the air.

Shadow Mew created another purple force field around herself, avoiding the noxious fumes. She watched impassively and once again released the field once the poison was cleared out. Without any sign of emotion, she waited for the next command.
"Go for a Drain Punch, Shadow!" Zin shouted. Maybe the Mew could regain her full health!
Shadow Mew dove down nimbly and attempted to bat Midnight with one paw.

"Midnight," Lisa calmly said, "forget the poison, use bite."
Midight growled at the Mew as its paw stuck her side, but used the close range attack of the Mew to bite at it.

Shadow Mew quickly pulled back her paw and swerved up through the air. She watched with glowing eyes, marking the movements of the Houndoom below. It looked like things might be finished soon.
"Okay, Ancient Power!" Zinnia called. Her mew was so awesome!
The mew decided to save time and concentrated on the rocks just below Midnight's feet. In an instant, a large pile of jagged rocks jumped up. It was a boquet of stalagmites, and that was going to be painful!

Lisa grimaced as Midnight missed, then was hit by the Mew's attack. Perhaps, it was time for a last minute change of plans. "Midnight, use howl."
Midnight was struck once again by the vicious stones. The Houdoom howled in agony, then the tones of the power boost came in. Slowly, the howl of the dying became the howl of death itself. Midnight felt her fighting spirit come back to her as she landed and prepared herself for the inevitable attacks.
