[Because Miki was jealous of how pretty Bella and Azu's love was...our little unicorn dreams of her own love to come... ;D]
Oh! How beautiful it was on the eve of Valentines in the mystical kingdom, watching the sunset from the balcony of the castle....overlooking the sea. Princess Miki had insisted that she relocate to the sea so she could be close to her beloved knight of the ocean blue.
She assumed he was off slaying dragons, savinf villages and doing all the heroic thinks knights often did. She wouldn't have it any other way, besides...wanting him near on this St. Valentines eve would make her selfish! As the wind picked up on her long tumbling locks of ebony hair, the mare smiled softly into the ocean breeze. No....she wouldn't give into temptation to make her so ugly on this day!

Ah, but while the Princess Miki stood upon the balcony of the castle, dreaming of her knight to return, Sir Hadrian knew very well the day at hand. Though he frequently went out to protect the borders of the kingdom, to aid those in need, the mighty prince had not forgotten about his lady in waiting. Oh no, he knew very well that he must return to her side . . . . and swiftly!
Yes, he was far from the oceans embrace, and with the sun already sinking, long shadows reaching out for him, the knight pushed onward. He would not leave his most beloved without company on the eve of a most special day; though he had duties to tend, though he frequently was called away from her side, the stallion wanted to surprise her tonight. She would expect him come morning, most certainly. . . . . Tomorrow was the day when all hearts gathered together.
But it was this night that he would call on her especially. She knew not where he roamed, but gingerly within his maw he held a gift just for her. Hadrian just had to reach her in time. . . . before the sun sunk fully, before she turned in for the night. It wouldn't be long now before he broke out of the woods and in to the sands that made up the ocean beaches. . . but how far from the castle would he be?
With his curls blowing in the evening wind, Hadrian finally broke out of the woods and on to the sandy shore. Veering to his right, castle in view, he trudged onward. . . . .
It wouldn't be long now even as the golden sun began its quiet descent.

Contented by the warmth of the fleeting rays, Miki was at ease knowing she would be with her beloved in the morning hours upon his return to the kingdom. Her heart fluttered lightly like when she was but a foal, blushing at their fairytale romance. He was everything that a knight was supposed to be, as if he'd been ripped right out of her favorite story.
Lips parted softly to let out a elegant yawn, tired from the day's activities and of course she always made sure to get her beauty sleep. Her elegant and beautiful pelt and frame were proof that one did need sleep to be beautiful.
So, as if on cue as the sun's rays vanished behind the sea to leave a beautiful glow on the horizon the mare turned to head inside before catching a moving glimps across the shoreline. Looking back out, she squinted her eyes before catching a familliar blue in the pelt of the stallion. He came back!
"H...Hadrian???" She called out loudly, a bright smile beaming across her face as she nearly jumped in excitement. "HADRIAN!" Whipping around the mare raced through the castle, across the draw bridge and onto the sands of the beach.
Standing at the shore, she awaited his approach; heart pounding heavily in her chest.

The great blue stallion could hear his heart pounding in his chest, pushing his legs to move faster and to stride longer. He could see the castle in the distance, could see the shadows of night embracing the ocean front abode. . . And yet, a figure cried out in the night. A figure whose form he had long since memorized, flashes of silver and ebony against such a pastel shade of pink. With her long mane flowing in the evening's breeze, she was a sight of pure and utter beauty. . .
Forever the princess, forever the gift he'd been given by the spirits. . . Oh, but was he more than glad to have returned in time. The great stallion could not call back, the most precious gift he harbored still within his mouth but the way in which he raced to her side proved that he was dying to reach her.
Slamming on the breaks, kicking up sand, the stallion reared up in a great display before his most beloved, before slamming his front forward in a just as impressive bow, sides heaving as he panted from such a long run. His curled tail swished behind him before he leaned forward and offered his gift to the princess. Humble as he was, he hoped it would be worthy a gift.
"I bring this to you," he started, "For though your beauty can go unmatched, these precious stones and jewels might only compliment such a precious dreamer as you." It was foreign, made from a distant village where knights and ladies still roamed. . . But from what he saw, it was to be tucked within ones hair. It was made of silver, and harbored gemstones that sparkled within the sunlight. . .
A shame he'd missed such a setting.
Hoping the mare might accept, Hadrian lifted his head and reached forward so he might tuck the pin gently behind Miki's ears, nestled within her ebony hair.

Miki's heart swelled, her eyes conveying nothing but the utmost excitement that he'd returned safe and sound from his gallant adventures off in the dangerous world. Once he'd neared she'd moved her mouth to speak words of pleasure that he'd returned when she'd simply have her very breath stolen from her....in the glow the set sunset behind them he simply glowed as he reared into that divine spectacle...how could one speak anyways when confronted with perfection?
Once she'd found her words again (with great difficulty to keep one's words composed!) she took a step forth as a brilliant smile crossed her pastel lips. "Hadrian...I missed you..." She breathed on soft vocals, before blinking in a confused mannor once she noticed what he had between his lips.
It simply glittered like the ocean and his eyes....it was for...for her? "Oh Hadrian! It's...its so beautiful! I've never seen such a thing...is it really for me?" Her cheeks felt so hot, as if she'd developed a delirious fever that she had no intention to try and cool down yet.
Slowly turning her head with a bashful gaze to the sands at her hooves, she felt him gently tuck the beautiful gems behind her ear to hold up her wild wavy hair....volume had always been her friend and enemy it seemed!
"Sir Hadrian...it is beautiful. I have nothing to thank you with...but perhaps this will suffice for now.." Grinning softly for it was unfit for a princess to be seen with such a devious smile on her face she leant up and kissed his cheek. Her own tail swaying gently behind her has it was a beautiful moment in time that she would cherish forever.
