Nickname: Sophie, Soph
Gender: Female
Age: Sixteen
Year: Sixth Year
House: Ravenclaw
Wand: Black Palm with Phoenix Talon, 12 ¾ inches, Slightly Flexible
Ethnicity: Multi-Racial
Mother’s Side: Japanese, Chinese, Canadian, American
Father’s Side: German, Austrian, Australian, French
Hair/Eye Colour:
Hair: A darker shade of brown, Sophronia’s, or Sophie’s if you don’t want your tongue ripped out, hair is slightly wavy, unlike her mother’s unbelievably straight locks. Similarly, Sophie’s kid brother had blonde hair, like her father. Sophie is the only one in her family to have brown tresses, since her mother has black hair.
Eyes: In many lights, Sophie’s striking amber eyes seem to change into varying shades of green (the shade depending on the light cast upon them). Some people actually call her a freak because of her eyes. That is one of the reasons she tends to wear sunglasses, owning several pairs from more expensive designers.
Pet: A Golden Eagle that goes by the name of Apollo, Sophie actually obtained it after she healed one of it’s wings. The eagle is much smaller that it should have been due to neglection in its earlier years.
Home Life:
Country of Origin:Originally born in the gloomy city of Seattle, Washington in the USA, Sophie and her family moved from place to place. Name a city; she has lived there for at least a week. And not only in America, but in other countries as well. In fact, Sophie is proud to say that she has been to every continent, even Antarctica.
Father: Mister John Lloyd Cedar is one of the few wizard archeologists that dig up ancient and extinct mythical beasts. So far, he and his wife have discovered remains of what is believed to be Nessie, perhaps a relative, and found traces of Sasquatch. Sadly, although he is a kind, intelligent fellow, he can get so involved in his work, he can even forget the names of his own children.
Mother:Similar to her husband, Sarah Angelique Cedar is a wizard archeologist. She and her husband are both middle-aged and love their children. Unlike her husband, Mrs. Cedar is a rather motherly person, never forgetting anything about her children, right down to their favorite song and even their friends’ favorite song.
Siblings:
Anthony Christopher Cedar: Anthony was Sophie’s younger brother. With naturally blonde hair and blue eyes, like his father, he was rather popular when he attended Hogwarts as a third year. Sadly, about a year ago, the Cedar family discovered that Anthony’s heart was failing. Due to his rare blood type, hh, it was nearly impossible for even wizards to do a viable treatment. Sophie had not been in school recently due to the fact that 1) she had to take care of her brother and 2) she was dealing with the loss when her brother died on Christmas. Finally, in February, she actually has the guts to come back.
Jennifer ‘Jenny’ Isabella Cedar: Sophie’s six-year-old sister, Jenny, is a certified genius and never misses a chance to rub it into Soph’s face. With raven hair, like her mother, and violet eyes, Jenny is always fawned over by random adults at the mall. In addition, Jenn plays the harp, violin, viola, piano, cello, and is currently learning how to play the flute. There is no sign yet of her possessing any magical abilities, but since she is only six, Jenny still has a long time. In addition, Jenny, with all her wits, still does not understand about her brother, but is suspecting something by now. Jenn is currently obsessed with classical music and dolls and absolutely hates vegetables, meanies, and being wrong.
Diving deeper:
Personality: Sophie is a sly, cunning young witch whom many say have all the aspects of being a great leader; smart, brave, determined, and a tad bit crazy. Unfortunately, she can also be insanely competitive and not having the longest temper, known for sucker punching an annoying Slytherin in her third year. In addition, Sophie is rather flexible, keeping to herself at times and at other times; she is a total people-person, hanging out with her multitude of amigos. Soph leans more towards being a tomboy, but does not mind some aspects of being a girly-girl. Finally, Sophie is rather open-minded, one of the reasons she is fluent in more than 5 languages, sometimes used as a translator for exchange students.
Likes: Sugar Quills, sports, cars, sports cars, sunglasses, shopping (sometimes), manicures, pedicures, black, silver, adventures, action movies, reading, flying, her Nimbus 2009, her friends and family, her brother, red meat, singing not in front of a million bajillion people, art, and rock/rap/hip-hop/metal music.
Dislikes: Sappy romantic crap, vegetables, meanie poo-poo heads, being over-scheduled, people who swear way too much and for no reason, the disease that killed her brother, doctors that cannot heal a dying person, annoying people, pop music, losing, failure, hypocrites, insanely judgemental people, coloring things in, Jenny (at times), and bossy people.
Taking a closer look: Anthony sat in his seat, motionless for several seconds, picking out his words carefully. He did not want to say too much, but not too little at the same time. When he spoke again, his voice was quiet, careful. ”Last week, when I was at the doctors, he brought mom out of the office. He hadn’t closed the door all of the way, so I could hear everything they said.” Although recently, Anthony had been trying to pretend he had not idea what was happening, he knew perfectly well. Anthony tended to put up a strong front for his younger siblings, all of which looked up to him. ”They said that there was not much of a chance, that she should be getting ready, that my heart was failing, that is was getting worse.” His voice was wavering as his eyes filled with tears. He turned in his chair to face Sophie. ”But I don’t wanna die!” He cried, slamming a fist on the table, tears streaming down his young face. ”Old people die, injured people die, but not kids! Kids are not supposed to die!” He took in a sharp, rattling breath as a streak of pain hit him in the chest. Anthony became quiet, his breaths quick and sharp, waiting for the pain to recede. He closed his eyes, head bent, biting his bottom lip, tasting the salty flavor of blood. Why, God? Why me? Why now? Why so soon? Barely a taste of life and now gone, blown away by the wind in the cruel, cruel world we live in today.
((Wow, really sappy moment, but I wanted to practice my sappy moments, so there you go. XD ))
