How do you feel about them. I'm reading this book by Christopher Penzack and he's gay and a wiccan. but he also says there are still people in this religion who don't like Homosexuals. So what 's your take on it?

Well, I am bisexual and Wiccan.. so I have no problem with it mrgreen I have never had a problem with gay/lesbian/bi people, and I don't see why anyone would.

I'm straight, and I don't care if someone is bi/gay/straight. As long as they don't hit on me then I am okay with them...

Being as how "gay" and "wiccan" have absolutely no correlation whatsoever then I imagine that there will be people in this religion who may not accept gay people based on their own morals and values. The bias against gay people does not always come from a religous standpoint. Personally I dislike people based on who they are or how they treat me personally rather than who they have sex with but I can say that I have certain views on the subject which many people of a non-straight standpoint would disagree with. Regardless of said views I still maintain that acceptance of people is what is important.

I am bisexual and I am pagan and I don't think it matters at all. People come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and yes sexual orientations. And yes Wiccans and pagan are people too! It does not matter what you are! Me personally I love pagan girls, hehehe especially asian pagan girls OO so hot.... xd

I see nothing wrong with being gay/lesbian/bisexual..if you have found true love, whether it be the same sex or opposite, its all good. And being wiccan just adds alittle flavor to the love life XD No, really...I'm bisexual and Pagan, I see no problem with it. If you got a straight guy coming in here saying its ok, by george, its ok XD.
There are some Wiccans that have problems with the gay/lesbian/bisexual community and won't allow them into their coven, but that is just stupid and very closed minded.

This seems, to me, like a really silly question to ask. I don't understand why anyone would be objectionable to bi or gay Wiccans. The Wiccan community is persecuted enough without persecuting each other for something else.

You see...its a big chain. The White persecute the Blacks, the Blacks persecute the Hispanics....The Hispanics persecute the Chinese and of course the Chinese just don't like us. Now, Christians persecute most religions, Jewish Perscute Christians and other religions...Wiccans well, hate to say this, they gotta persecute someone other then the Christians because that is getting alittle tiring. So, they persecute the gay community, which of course is wrong. No one should ever persecute anyone.

I don't think it can be traced that way. Most persecutions occur because of history that is un-neccessarily carried on and on through generations. Like I said earlier I don't think Wicca and gay have anything to do with each other so it becomes a question of personal values. For example is someone believed "gay" relationships to be "wrong" they have two choices. One is to discriminate against those doing the "wrongful things" or two they can acknowledge their own beliefs and not let them get in the way of accepting people for who they are rather than what they look like, what religion they are or in this case who they sleep with.

Well I think it is ridiculous for paganism/wiccan to discriminate against gays based on the rites, rituals, lore, belief structure, whathaveyou. In many sects...I hesitate to use that word....but you know what I mean.... it is a standard and something that is supported and has been for many many centuries. It happens when newcomers converting from christianity come over and implore their own ideals upon everyone else. With paganism we only have one essential law/rule...what ever you want to call it. That is the law of three. Homosexuality is only a sin in christianity. That is where it comes in to play. If you live by christian law then of course it may matter to you. In some of the oldest wiccan belief structures, or anything similar, it either A: doesn't matter or B: homosexuals are in a sense worshiped. It is a gift from the gods. Take most all native american cultures. That are very paganistic in many ways. They revere homosexuals , sometimes called berdache's (the spelling is probably way off) these were in a sense holy people.
Just some things to think about. Sometimes with our society christian ideals blur with right and wrong.

.....and..... I am obviously a lesbian. My partner and I are both wiccan and have never really been the subject of any type of hatred within our wiccan community. I understand that people don't like what they don't understand, but I've not personally found this to be the case in my area anyway.

You have to be careful what you read in books. The author may know a lot on the subject but have a hidden agenda somewhere in there too. I think by the nature of our "religion" it is a silly thought, but who knows. heart

Isnt there a religion for gay pagans? Something like Green or something? I was in borders and there was a book with a naked gay guy and I picked it up and looked inside, and said something about being a gay pagan. I forgot what it was called but I know its green something.. neutral
