Pheanoar dipped a hoof in the water to test the temperature before dropping her head down to take a drink. The water was sweet and cool. She drank her fill then found a patch of soft grass in the sun where she could lay. A sigh escaped her. She was lonely. Though she had made one friend, Ivy, they hadn't been able to spend any time together recently. Besides, in truth it was more than a friend that she wanted. She closed her eyes and began to daydream of love and the happiness it would undoubtably bring.

"Why such a face?" Shen asked softly from afar, hopping to the other side of the small stream in a bound as he moved closer to the female, not meaning to spook her of course. Normally he wouldnt have even bothered saying hello, but she had such a look on her face, even he couldnt have left her alone.
It was a look of a sad longing, a look hed seen before on others, and it compelled him to speak. Besides it wasnt as if hed had anywhere to go to begin with, shen had been going no where, simply taking a diferent rout to break from his mundane pattern of travel a break from his exploring the woods around him.

"Oh! Hi!" Phea said, suprised by her new companion. She hadn't expected to see anyone where she was, and she couldn't help but blush slightly. "I was just thinking about... stuff." Mentally she was kicking herself. Stuff?! Way to go Phea, you dimwit. Ivy would never have let her live it down if she'd seen. She quickly decided to try to disctract the male herla from her stupidity and introduce herself.
"My name's Pheanoar, but everyone calls me Phea. What's yours?" she asked.

"Stuff, it looks like you were thinking about some deep stuff" shen chuckled happily, moving to stand a bit closer to the female. "Pheanoar..Thats a nice name! Mine sadly isnt so long, Im shen" he smiled softly pacing for a moment before taking a seat next to the female, tucking his legs beneath his body, gazing out over the river for a moment, trying not to look at her to much lest he seem like he was staring. She was pretty though..
"You dont mind if I sit here right? I mean, I did sort intrude on your nap" shen grinned, a teasing note to his voice. Though he hoped she didnt mind him hanging out a bit, he really had no where else to go at the moment.

Phea couldn't help but giggle "Honestly, you're very welcome to sit here." she told him as her giggle devolved into a smile. "I was actually thinking that I needed to make more friends. My only friend hasn't been around lately, so it's been boring and lonely."

Shen giggled along with her shaking his head at how silly he was being "Thank you, I'm terrible at meeting people, heh can you tell?" he asked playfully, tail swishing back and forth slowly through the grass. "You to huh! I was actually thinking the same thing..accept..well haha I dont have any friends at the moment" he shrugged as only a herla could "I'm a bit new around here, the landscapes are all beautiful" much more beautiful then a swamp anyways. "Definetly boring being all alone, mm which means I can make your day more fun right" ears flicking softly listening to the sounds of the forest.

"Methinks we can definitely make life more fun for each other. Fancy a swim?" she asked, dipping her hooves in the water again. "The water feels perfect today." Phea splashed a bit of fresh lake water in Shen's direction.

"A swim, I think thatd be wonderful!" shen grinned ears twitching slightly as he swiftly got to his feet. "Really.." moving to follow her before he was abruptly splashed, laughing and spluttering as he shook himself, water dropplets flying. "Oi! That was a cheap shot!" the buck teased, she was right though, the water was perfect today, not to cold not to hot.
Smirking as he charged into the river with a splash, tail dragging through the water, rearing his hooves and bringing them down back into the water, splashing about it haphazardly in hopes of splashing phea back. This was sily even for him..but still he was having fun.

Phea couldn't help but grin to the point that her face hurt. She stepped back from the water several paces, then took a galloping leap into the water. A high pitched shriek emitted from her mouth as she hit the lake and slipped several feet under the water. She came up just a few feet away from Shen, laughing and shaking her mane
