Over recent months[since, oh, the beginning of 2005] we've been getting caled every so often and, upon picking up the phone, hearing "Do you think marriage is between a man and a woman? Hello, I am a concerned mother..." and it then trails off to say that homosexuality, *****, and child pornography are linked. They are an ISP that poses as a survey to avoid the Do-Not Call list. I know this because my brother-in-law talked one of the telemarketers into telling him. This is the information I have right now: UATech-crap United American Technologies (Filtered Internet Service) Phone HQ: 900 NE 63rd St. Oklahoma City, OK 73105 ISP: Columbia, SC Corporate beneficiaries: American Family Association Focus on the Family Concerned Women of America Carman Foundation Billy Graham National Campaign to Stop Same-Sex Marriage 1-800-394-2611 Partnered with: National Campaign to Stop Same-Sex Marriage Placed on company's DNC list on 07/28/05 (evening) (30 days grace period for DNC request to be processed) Since then, we have been called at *least* 5-10 times, 2-3 times during the grace period. We also remind them to not call us ever again. each time. Not only do they persist on calling us, but they persist AFTER WE TELL THEM TO STOP CALLING. In fact, since we told themo stop calling, they began calling us more often than before. I'm so ******** pissed right now that even violent games and naughty images won't cheer me up. scream scream scream anyway, I'm posting this in here to show you guys what I have to deal with, and to possibly get some advice.

Paranoid Confusion is it a recording, or a real person? It's a recording. The only way you can get a live operator is if you hit '1' when it says so.

AkureiKnight That's bullshit. I'd go off on someone if they called me like that. stare Every time *I'M* the one to get called by 'em, I always hit 1, wait for an operator to pick up, and then Tell them: "I'm not interested in your ******** anti-gay, filtered internet service. I know for a FACT that you guys are an ISP fronting as a survey, and you do so just to bypass the Nationall Do not Call List. I'm not as dumb as you nor your customers. Stop calling here, you assholes." See, I posted this thread just because I wanted to know if I'm the only one here that gets these calls. Also, I need to vent. Edit: you know what else pisses me off? EVERY TIME they call me, it's in the MIDDLE of my daily nap[I like naps]... I get grumpy if I'm forcibly woken up by what I tend to assume is an IMPORTANT call, but I'm instead woken up by a company commiting Fraud[I'm sure fronting as a survey to sell an internet service is some sort of fraud].

Ahh venting is good. I haven't gotten these calls yet. Maybe you should report them to someone.

I would, but Mom and dad either say 'We're too exhauted to do anythig tonight' OR they tell me they'll handle it. they never did. Mind you, I'm usually just asking for the phone number for the Better Business Beureau.

Well if he wasn't joking it wouldn't have been very nice. I take things too literally sometimes.
