Routines were hard to break, weren't they? Every day since she was a filly her mornings were very much the same. She would wake up at sunrise and walk to the familiar hill where the single lonely tree grew. In the grip of winter the tree was dormant but the mare could remember it blossoming in the spring and bearing fruit up until autumn, when the leaves changed colours and fell to signal the oncoming winter. There was no reason for her to visit when there were no apples to eat, yet the sight of the tree was comforting somehow.
"Well Teppy, what should we do today?"
The seasonal mare swung her mane happily as she trotted up the hill, looking around at the forest around her. Lately things had been pretty dull and quiet, except for the occasional passer-by. There she stood by the tree, wondering if it would be more interesting to go to the river, or back to the two-legger camp.

Blitz wondered around aimlessly. Much like the young stallion did often. Looking around he seen nothing he wanted, or desired. Just snow. It was white and blinding, glistening with shine. But still it did not strike his fancy. He wanted the warm months to return, ohh how he had missed them. He picked up pace into a trot, turning into a gallop and eventually he was into a blank field. He looked forward, noticing but one tree. But something else had caught his interest as well. A familiar palette of colors, could it be? The scent on the wind said mare, but he wasn't sure if it was who he thought it was. it had been ohh so long since he had seen any of his little filly friends. Not since he was a young colt himself. he came close and closer still before slowing down and snorting, looking forward trying to tell weather or not it was her.

Placidly pawing at the snow, Teppy was jerked from her internal thoughts when a shape moved against the treeline. She squinted, bright cyan eyes straining to see the features that made up the stallion. In the direction she was standing she could not scent him. Well, whoever it was, she would say hello. Teppy was friendly to strangers and friends alike. She wouldn't act any different faced by this newcomer.
"Hey there!" She called out. But could he hear her from there? Without waiting for a response, she began to walk towards him, tail swishing out behind her as she went.

Blitz stopped and smiled towards the mare. He dipped his head and came a little closer to try to get a better look at her. Noting that she looked to similar to his old friend he decided to say something. " Well hello there. I hope you dont think it rude of me but are you Teppy?"

How did he know her name? She stopped in her tracks and stared, trying to place him, tail swishing idly. That blanket of white, dotted with stars... wait, he was very familiar!
Teppy's entire expression lit up as she grinned. "Blitz! Is that you?" The spell lifted, she ran a circle around him. "Wow, you've really changed!" She laughed and slowed to a stop, her mane wild from her running. "I was worried there for a second, when you said my name."

He smiled. It was always nice to hear someone say your name in a familiar tone. Something he didnt get to often. Blitz had not made many friends in his childhood so was delighted when he ran into someone he knew. How Teppy, his childhood friend, had grown. At first he himself almost didnt recognize her. But that familiar color of Seasonal mints gave her away. He reared as she trotted around him, greeting her as a young stallion would greet a mare prancing around him. Before his soft but loud voice spoke out.
" Well well well, i knew it was you! And yes, we all change. It took a while but here we are. I haven't seen you in a dogs age! How are you, Anything new?". For once this stallion left his snide remarks, sarcasm and wit at bay as he was curious to know what his old friend had been doing and up to.

For a moment Teppy was brought back to the innocence of her foalhood. It was an odd sensation, Blitz standing right there, so similar and yet so different. She practically beamed, happily swishing her tail out behind her.
"Nothing, really, except for each passing day," Teppy let out a sigh, unafraid to be truthful with her friend. "I haven't seen my family in a long time. I've been here in this forest by myself for quite a while, with only the occasional passer-by to keep me company." She smiled again, but this time it was a little abashed. Teppy was too fearful to leave the safety of the forest where she grew up, though she really wanted to go see the world. They were two very conflicting emotions.
"What have you been up to?" Teppy asked him, her full cheer returning. "Have you gone traveling? Found that special someone?" she teased, her eyes glinting with mischief.

" That makes two of us. I haven t seen my family in so long i almost cant remember their voices."
He smiled as he looked over to her. A little surprised when she told him how she hadnt left the forest. He couldn't imagine ever being stuck in one place for so long. And now that he knew this, as he looked around. It felt a little creepy in this place. The trees almost resembled bars to a cell. Locking his friend away in their shadows. He didn't quite understand though why she never left, so he asked. " Why not just leave?"
Thinking for a moment he smiled, " I've been all over. Roaming here and there.. and everywhere. To the north, to the south. East and west soon fallowed. But no i haven't found a special someone" Blitz shirked at that last part but continued, " Im a wanderer and will be for some time. I dont need some mare slowing me down. What about you?"

Though his answer made her giggle Teppy seemed to freeze in place as she struggled with her next words. She didn't like talking about her fear of open space. It was such a silly fear to have. She was almost just as scared of telling someone about it and being mocked for her phobia as an open space itself. The way Blitz looked around did not go by unnoticed by the mare. Well, if she could trust anyone it would be her friend, right?
She couldn't stop the nervous laugh that bubbled up. "I'm a-afraid to be... out there." Teppy gestured with her muzzle, trying to explain without actually saying it. But she didn't think she was being clear enough, so she tried again. "I'm afraid of open spaces... You know, fields, big clearings, that sort of thing..."
"Could you tell me about the places you've seen? Please?" Her expression flicked from embarrassed to eager, curious to hear about the world outside.
