When I made my character, I had made a few assumptions. The new map makes some of my character's biographical info faulty, as it was based on the map used in WoT. I would greatly appreciate it if you would allow me to make a revised map that would avoid these conflicts, while also remaining similar to the map already decided upon by Apollo.

If you do this you just run into other problems for other characters, no map will work perfectly for everyone. I made sure that every country mentioned in a biography still existed....
both your characters are borderland characters so I dont see how you run into conflicts, but its not like most people are actually going to give a s**t if two things don't exactly match up. After all authors make mistakes with descriptions from their own books, I don't think yours will be noticed unless it is a huge mistake.

Just re-read your character post. The only thing that conflicts is that you mention fighting in the Aiel waste... The name may have changed for the desert but you already mention that your character calls things by their old names... so that would solve that problem. Also it says he has traveled all over the world... therefore he could have been helping the members of Andor or Carhien fight some minor battles against the Aiel and it would mean that no changes would be needed to your profile.

Another problem, he is said to be from the mountains of east Shienar (what I had intended to be the foot-hills of the Spine of the World). Also, he was taken as Gai'shain while the Shienarans fought the Aiel (he knew of the practice off Gai'shain.) I suppose you are right, and the only thing I was going to suggest was pushing Shara a little further, and link Sheinar and the Aiel Waste by wrapping it around, into a similar position it once was in. I suppose, as you mention, it really doesn't matter all that much. One question. You do not have cities mentioned, thouh Ebou Dar was once a city in Altara, do the original once still exist? Such as Fal Dara?

I wouldn't worry to much about it Orion after all the maps perfect.
Manathera is on the wrong side of the mountains. Andor somehow touches Tear Tarabon is where Andor was. Tremalikin is way to far North. To simplify the only thing recognizable is the borderlands, Tar Valon, and the Blight.
Any shift that drastic in the tectonic plates over any period less than say a million years would in fact destroy all life as we know it.
So it is best to assume a completely different divergent dimension so that the story is 100% ours and has little bearing on anything RJ ever wrote.
Now I don't mean to be overly critical here but the map really bugs me. and I figured we would have oh say some input. There aren't that many of us, actually only 6 who actually are posting so if we have a problem with the map it is no slight on you Apollo it's just not what people are looking for. I say people there because if it is not recognizable aside from cutting up the map and turning the individual peices people aren't going to think of it as WoT.
It is not my intention to be inflamatory and I apologize if anyones feelings are hurt this is simply my opinion which is aparently unwanted since the last time I posted any concerns about the map I was Jumped on with a request to delete my concerns.

It was approved by the new Amyrlin, and I don't take it as inflamatory...
but when you deal with magic its not necessarily tectonic plates shifting... I took it from the writings that had basically said Mountains stood where the oceans once were and that others had risen from the sea... This implies that there were quite a few drastic changes
Another thing that backs up my claim is the fact that all of the Ogier stedding had disappeared... well on my map they have an island that is 90% stedding, so that they didn't have to go through the same thing again.
If you all seem to think you can do better I will quit trying, because I already have half of my history written based on these things. The map had been posted for at least a week if not two before I wrote anything else, so if you do not want my contributions I will give up and go back to just roleplaying. Otherwise things need to be addressed in a more timely matter.

I did approve the map ahead of time, I felt it was quite creative and gave our story a bit of originality. Also, when we were discussing creating a history and maps, Apollo was the only one who volunteered at the time. I am not trying to upset anyone but I feel that the only reason everyone is arguing his map now is because it has come into play in the story.
Also aria, the reason the posts were deleted from that thread is because it was under construction and had not been opened for discussion yet. He wanted to finish everything before you guys started making comments which was another thing I approved so please do not be upset at him for that.

Apollo, it is not that I do not want your contributions, in fact I feel you have a lot to offer. My remarks earlier were simply that you seem unwilling to let us contribute to the history and world which we are all sharing. Whether or not I think I can do better is irrelavent here. I just thought that at this stage we would still be sharing ideas. I was apparently mistaken in thinking no input was to be made at all so I backed off. I agree that one person should write the history but I was hoping with some discussion it would be a compilation of ideas all of us contributed. No request was ever sent and you have marched on to give us a history with little to no input from us. I admire your diligence in this matter and hope to see your history soon as I would like to see how the world ended up so different.
Also, I figured the Seanchan would at least still control Tremalking if not Tarabon. But again I looking forward to reading how they were removed from the mainland.

If you want to read the history it is in the under construction thread... you just need to use your intellect to be able to read it.
If you have contributions that you want made, it is much easier if you are more specific than criticizing the whole map. For example, would it make you all happier if we extended Malkier and Shienar out South & East further, into the Ogiers Island (we could rename it... but I dont know what would be a good Ogier name) and the island of Demir. From there we can extend Demir southward so it connects to Cairhien & Andor.
Anywhere where somebody has posted suggestions on the history I have looked at them to see if they would fit into the system. I also will need alot of help on writing the White Towers transition, a position which I would rather use others ideas and just craft into the story since I am not much of a key player in the White Tower. If you want to help me on this Aria feel free to send me a message with any suggestions. Actually any suggestions can be posted in this thread of the OOC or sent to me in a pm. I do not want to be the only one participating in our history.

Suggested map editIn addition, I would like to mention something that the Amyrlin approved before Apollo joined. Cirithil's House, House Indreluinmir, has pledged all of its lances to help the White Tower if ever it needs the aid. In addition, House Indreluinmir is one of the strongest houses in Shienar.

Id say if your going to edit it, bring that southern border down about halfway into Demir, and then into Andor and Caemlyn... draw up some mountains that wrap around all of those, and that would just make the waste even larger

I was thinking something more along those lines... all of the red is obviously the edited stuff... but the bold red spraypainted area is supposed to be mountains. I shifted a few borders on the countries... obviously we'd need another name for the former Ogier Island... something along the lines of the Old Tongue.

I have some experience in making maps. I'd be honored if you'd allow me to finalize this map. I'll include one of the maps from my worlds/stories to show you the quality and style of my maps. Map of Escar
