no, it doesnt make you mannish, it makes you cool. i know a chick or two who will mosh, but for the most part youre right - more chicks need to join in

At Tuska it's about 2/3 men and 1/3 women in the mosh pit, well depends on the band, grindcore bands get probably like 99% male moshpits. D: I like to stay at the edges of the pit, so I can join in if I wish, but if I want to rest/take pics, I can move aside for a bit. I can't mosh, because I wear glasses and I'm afraid I'd drop them and they'd get trampled over. D:

D: you could get those glasses they give you in the army that are nearly indestructible. sure, they're ugly as s**t, but then you could mosh without having to worry about them breaking lol

D: I have that same damned problem! scream Last time, I just put them in my coat pocket and hoped they'd be fine, which they were. That was just lucky though, I wouldn't do that regularly. I also have the problem that headbanging tends to make my glasses slide down off my face and I sometimes just barely catch them in mid air. mad It's making me consider contacts.

A girl who can hold her own in a pit is about the single greatest thing ever. I've seen it done several times, by this one really cool girl that I know.
As for the glasses issues: Get contacts. Or a friend to hold them when you're in the pit. I usually just hand my stuff to a friend who's just watching if I'm gonna crowd surf or pit.
