Ever since I told this guy (we'll call him Hubert) that I liked him, his friends won't leave me alone. They're all very nice to me, but once I step into that classroom... Oh boy. The one day, (we'll call this one Pete) Pete was throwing paper balls at me, missing every time. I know he didn't do it in a mean way, and I didn't think anything of it then. A few days ago, Pete "accidently" dropped Hubert's phone number on my desk. Hubert wasn't around that period... (I don't know what to make of that, but figured it would help.) My friend keeps telling me they do it because Hubert likes me, but I'm not sure. Do guys do this...? I have no idea, I'm usually the last one to make a move. Any ideas?
heart Thanks

I think that if this guy is too much of a p***y to come flat out and tell you that he's interested in you, you should completely change your fixation to something else.

A guy who hides behind his friends is a feminized man, and probably doesn't have the balls to be a good boyfriend/lover.

Well that's one way to look at it, he's just a pretty shy dude.

There is another name for a shy guy. And that happens to be p***y. Quite frankly, if he's too afraid to come right out and tell you he likes you when you've made it clear that you already like him, than he's not going to be much use to you in social situations or in bed.

Captain, you are speaking a bit too closed-minded. Some feminine guys make good boyfriends. It all depends on the guy/girl.

In my defense, if I had not used the word p***y, I'm sure the Captain would have said something, so I lose either way.

Try to get the guy alone and talk to him away from the pressure of the friends. Since it already out he knows that you like him so if he does like you he has no reason not to tell you. Just let him know to his face that the rumors are true and see what happens.

And can we lessen the use of the word p***y? Yes it come from slang for the female genitalia and by calling a guy that it means he's a girl and if it's and insult then it means girls are shy or not strong or what ever you want it to mean. Just cut the sexism stuff.

I agree. The word itself is far overrated.

Unless in reference to a cat.

While the word may be far overused, there is no other viable substitute for it. It directly describes a type of male. See, the word as I like to use it, is to imply a man without "balls", and who is demasculinized. This kind of individual can not be described as a man as he fits none of the traits of a male, though he is anatomically one.

Plus without it I couldn't use the word "pussified" which is also very descriptive. So, instead of looking at it in a sexist way, look at it as a descriptive word like, "wonderful, awesome, amazing, stupid, etc."

I'd also like to note that it is a usable word on public radio. As hosts like Tom Leykis use it frequently.

And if that doesn't jive, lets just pretend that instead of using it as slang for female gentiles I'm referring to a cat. You know, a pussycat. Like in the song.

But the sexual connotations are still there. In it's root it is a sexual word. And a de-masculanized man still comes out a woman in this two gender world.

While the linguistic argument is there, and I give you due credit for it, the usage of the word is still derogatory towards feminine men and women.

If we're going to remove the ability of the word because it's derogatory, we should remove all potentially offensive content from the guild, and prohibit anyone from posting it. Therefore anything negative said about Christians, Republicans, Democrats, Atheists, etc, should not be said as it could be taken in an offensive manner to each of these large groups of people.

Also, I think it is an appropriate way of describing a man who has feminine traits. Look at it this way; most females tend to be extremely reactionary. Most females more easily emotionally provoked. From experience, I can tell you that they are generally shyer, and tend to have less confidence than men. They also expect men to ask them out, and to be chivalrous. A goodly deal want men to take care of them. A great deal want to be mothers, and raise children. A lot of them don't care about the monetary aspect of things, and only look at the emotional value of an action. These are traits that women are more likely to possess then men.
A woman should be the caregiver of the family. The person who you run to when you need emotional support and advice.

A traditional male role should be one of emotional stability who always keeps his head on his shoulders. He is also supposed to be confident. A caretaker and protector of his family. The head of his house, and the person a woman can run to when she needs that kind of emotional support. He is supposed to be less emotional and more rational.

Now, these gender roles are set up for a reason. Not out of ignorance, as you may like to argue, but rather based on the fact that the fit the bill for a large amount of people.

Now, this is all personal opinion but I think that when a man decides to become a woman in his actions, it is not a positive thing. And I am not going to support his actions. When he cries about being shy, it is because he is acting like a the 'stereotypical woman.' Now, I could just call people 'women' but that would elicit even more hate from you guys, as you would argue that I'm using "woman" in a negative way. Therefore I use the word "p***y" to describe such a man. No woman could ever be a p***y, as she already lacks physical testicles. "p***y" is a word reserved entirely for men who chose to give into the 'weaker' feminine traits.
And quite frankly, I don't like women who fit the stereotype either. They are generally insufferable twits. And I don't make bones about telling them either.

When a woman starts being manly, we often have negative words for those too, like tomboy. And this is a stereotypical way of viewing men, as it lumps them together as being a bunch of ruffians. But that word is generally accepted.

To make this completely fair we would have to totally remove any words that contain any kind of connotation what so ever as well. This involves removing words like "masculine" and "feminine" as both males and females can have these traits, and it could be offensive to someone. We also have to only describe gender in terms of what a person's physical status. Actually, that wouldn't be accurate either, as some transexuals and transvestities like to be called the other gender despite they have the genitiles of the other gender. Do we call the woman who wants to be a man, a woman or man? By calling her a man, we can potentially offend men who don't embody any of the traits she does. Do we call her a woman and offend her sense of what she is? It's impossible to tell these days.

The word describes something in a negative way. And I think you guys are all playing far too much into it.

Again, I reiterate the fact that in no such place the idea or suggestion of perminantly removing the word p***y has been mentioned. All that was said was to limit the usage of the word during sexist remarks. Sure, there's a time and a place for all words, including (but not limited to) ********, c**t, p***y, b***h, whore, tramp, s**t, damn, hell, cocksucker, carpetmuncher, asslicker, fart sniffer, and republican. However, the time and place isn't every single time a male appears to be the slightest feminine. Just choose your time and place, that's all.

I can see you being a lobbiest. That's probably your master plan, besides taking over the world.

Who told?! stressed

But you do pose a very good point. By overusing a word I detract from the overall potency of it. I'll have to keep that in mind.
