Gold eyes filtered around the area as his jaw tightened as he glared over to the other lumps of sleeping lions that he called his family. He stood finally no longer able to fight the sleepless night he walked out to brave the cold night of the desert. Looking to the sky he took a deep breath as the wind blew across his face making his small mane, earrings, and jewelry toss about in the wind. He then closed his eyes before his body cursing it as it did shivered from the cold. He then opened his longing eyes to look around the dunes of sand. He then turned and began to walk towards a large rock. Easily he hoped onto it before shaking off the sand from his paws and stretching out on the cool ground. Other might have though him stupid being just a little juvenile lion sleeping alone in the cold and on a rock. He didn't care though he was learning to to be quite and more blank. He then looked to the stars giving another heavy sigh as another gust of wind came by making him tense and curl around himself a little more. He began to grow bored as he tried to trace out different things in the stars. He finally was able to picture a face of a lion as he couldn't help but chuckle a little before snuggling his face into his forearms that where in front of him.

Jua's red eyes had watched his brother leave the group carefully. It seemed like that mostly-black cub was't the only one who couldn't sleep. After a while, he stood up and followed his brother, unable to sleep. The days and nights were both a little on the restless side for him.
He marched seakily after his brother, hoping to catch up with him and see where he was going. It was cold at night, as always. Nothing special about it. But it was a chance for Jua to move around. He could barely sit still long enough to sleep most nights, generally speaking. Jua would rather be out and about than sleeping any night.
"What's so funny?" He asked his brother, after sitting away and watching the other lion for a little while. Observant, really... more than Jua normally gave himself credit for, but every now and then he could maintain his calm long enough to sit still and watch. And he wanted to know what was so funny right now.
He walked up to his brother, sitting down beside him and shaking out his white mane. He yawned loudly, even though he wasn't tired. Or maybe he was always tired, and he just couldn't quite admit it to himself. But he always had to move around, know people, do things. Sitting still made him crazy.

Vibrant gold eyes shot to the lion approaching him as he pressed his lips together sealing in anymore laughter. The male looked at his breath for a long moment before turning away and looking back to the sky.
"The stars...I was bored and making things out of them." He muttered a little not to sure his soft voice would be cared over the cold night but he had no intention of getting any louder to wake the others around them. He then looked back to the sky closing his eyes slowly.
"I start my apprenticeship tomorrow." He muttered softly. "I just got the news today I can't sleep I should especially if he is going to be my Teacher." He said before looking back to his brother as a odd expression came across his face. It wasn't excitement but he wasn't scared of seeming all the to nervous it was just blank with no emotion at all.
Then shaking his head he pushed himself up from his rock before sitting down and wrapping his tail securely around his front paws. He then smirked a little before rolling his shoulders a little.
"Have you heared anything about who will be your Teacher?" He asked interested in just talking with his brother something he had never done before. The only ones he really talked to where his parents and even at that it was much just a simple greeting. Though there was that one time when he was really small and had a quite little chat with his mother. That was the past now and this was the present as he shook the thought from his ehad before returning his attention to his brother.

Jua tilted his head, wishing his brother hadn't stopped laughing. He liked it better when the two of them were happy, or really when any of them were happy. Silence never really made Jua feel very comfortable. If anything, it made him the oppsite.
"The stars huh?" He asked, taking a steat beisde his brother and staring up at the sky, tilting his head and shaking his shaggy white mane out. It was growing to be such a nuisence, "Cool. I like how they move around all the time. They aren't boring."
He didn't know who 'he' was, or why 'he' made his brother nervous, but whatever. He was sure that his brother had his reasons for feeling unsure about that kind of teacher he would have. Jua had his own... reservations. Which were over-come by what he had heard about his teacher, "Her name is Azula, or something like that... apparently she's a tough-chick or something like that. I dunno. Mom says she'll put me in my place... or something like that." It wouldn't be the first time his mother had said that someone needed to 'put you in your place', though he was still a little uncertain as to exactly what that meant.
He looked over at his brother, sort of glad they had gotten a chance to talk. Especially when they generally didn't, "What about whoever your teacher was? I know Azula is supposed to be some kinda legend... or whatever, but have you heard anything interesting about yours?"

The lion gave a little nod before opening his mouth slowly. "Kidondo...He's my teacher." He jaw was not tight his body rock hard as he stared ahead as he tried not to panic from just saying his name.
"Father said I would be the best of the best if I was taught by him." He said softly before his limbs became like wet noodle and he fell against the rock with a defeated sigh.
"Jua...I don't know if I'll be able to do it." He muttered honestly before looking to meet his brothers gaze.
"Just...things seem so much different now. I guess its cause we are old enough to look outside the box just a little." He admitted before giving a very amused huff of a chuckle.
"So your being taught by a female. That's rather interesting." He said with a nod before looking back to the sky to see the brilliant shimmering stars.
"Do you think Mother and Father will be proud of us?" He finally asked after a few moments of silence. He then gave a small shiver probably from the mixture of cold and the thought of displeasing either of them let alone both.

"Kidondo?" Jua said, blinking his eyes in a mitxture of suprise and adoration. His brother would most certainly be strong if he learned from their leader! A pang of jealousy, perhaps? But then, Azula had been hailed as one of the pride's most valuable warriors... it would be interesting to see what happened. What kind of skills would they learn differently? How very interesting, and exciting, that would be.
"Yeah, makes sense I guess. Dad wants the best for us, I guess, even though he can be... well, you know dad." Jua chuckled a little, "Sometimes I don't even think he remembers my name. Or who our mother is. Or which ones of us are even his." He glanced over his brother and sighed, "Look, you can't worry about things like that. You can't think you can't do it, you can just be sure that you will. Accepting defeat before you even try... whatever. That's not a very firekin outlook. This Azula... they say she's so tough she's worked her children to death before. But I either want to be the best, or I want to die trying."
He lifted his head to watch the stars, a grin cracking across the future brawler's face when he spoke about his future, or perhaps lack-there-of with his reckless ways, "And who cares what mom and dad think? I'd rather be happy with what I'm doing than appeasing their egos! Forget about them! You just have to work your hardest and try your best! That's all you'd need to do to make me proud of you anyway. I'm not worried..." The lion barked a laugh, probably louder than he should have, but he seemed perfectly relaxed when he thought about the future. Probably because he generally didn't.

Damu couldn't help but chuckle with his brother before nodding. "Your right ! I'm just being silly and stupid. I can't afford to do that anymore." He exclaimed with deep emotion as he puffed out his chest. He would be strong he told him self he would be the best guard there was and will be to date. Then jumping off his rock he smirked a little turning to his brother.
"You know today I meet this strange lioness's." He said as he stretched out with a small roar like yawn. "She caught me about to pounce a small snake and to distract me from my prey we started talking." He continued before shivering a little from the night air.
"She's completely obsessed with telling stories and making pictures of them on stone." He said telling his brother about his first encounter with a female other then the ones related to him by blood or adoption.
"It reminded me of dad when he used to tell us stories." He said chuckling a little. "It was nice listing to the actually it helped me forget about the snake which probably could have been very dangerous." He said before looking to his brother.
"I was only doing it to get some practice in my pouncing." He said with a small nod as if that totally justified his attempt at suicide.

Jua grinned, bounding afrter his brother. "See? When you just let go it's so much easier!" He laughed, watching his brother puff out his chest. He was certain, after all, that with the right attitude his brother would be just fine. Or, if he was anything like Jua, possibly dead because of general lack in foresight. But Jua didn't really care, one way or the other. He just wanted to have fun!
"Yeah? I've met some pretty weird lions and lionesses too..." He mentioned thoughtfully, tilting his head to the side and listening to his brother, "I met one who tod stories... I don't know if she made pictures on stones though. But she taught me all about poetry, which was pretty neat."
Thinking back on her, he was glad. His mother had only told him one poem, and it had probably been to make him bored so he would leave her alone... though it had backfired almost completely. Jua had hung on every word and demanded more.
"Well, we've gotta practice someone when we're little. It'll give us the upper hand once we actually start training!" He grinned, sitting up straight and nodding. His own 'suicide attempts' as his parents had called them usually involved picking fights, or training matches really, with older lions who could have probably squished him with one paw.

The male nodded as he watched his brother before taking a deep breath. "Mmm...I think I might go back and try to get some sleep though." He commented before jumping off the rock landing softly on his feet.
"I have to get up early so that I'm not sleep when he comes. I think that would just be a disaster." He said pushing the thought from his mind as he shook his head. He then took a few steps towards the den.
"I'll see you tomorrow Jua." He said leaning down to the ground stretching out rather feline like. He let out a yaw like roar before getting up and walking back to the den.
Once close to the den he stopped just at the opening peeking inside seeing the rest of his sleeping family. He took a deep breath and held it as he began to tip-toe into the room slowly moving over to a small chest of his things. He curled up beside it before yawning one last time as he rested his head gently against his body as he began to slowly drift off to sleep.

Jua nodded at his brother, and then nodded, following him back inside. It would be pretty lame to stay awake all night and not have anything to do. He couldn't do anything the next morning if he was tired either. "Fair enough... Maybe I'll try to be awake too. Who cares whether she finds me awake or asleep though?" He laughed. Little did he know, he was likely going to have his insolent a** kicked if he did that.
He fell asleep and twitched and turned over in his sleep, not stopping his movement even when he slept. He did, however, wake up suprisingly early the next morning. He rolled over, twitching and stretching, and then he went to his brother, who had yet to wake.
The last thing he wanted to do was get his brother in trouble... really, if anything the little hellraiser didn't want anyone to get the attention who wasn't actually him. So he pawed at his brother, making weird noises in his ear.
"Brooooother..." He whispered quietly, "There's a snaaaaaake besiddddde you." He said, trying his best to change his brothers dreams, while keeping an eye out for their regent.
