Aika had finally left home. And she was Loving it! She was currently trotting around a large field, giggling. Her tail feathers swished to and fro as she spotted a mole. It started to burrow under the ground, which caught Aika's attention quickly. She trotted over and smiled down at it. The sudden movements must've scared it, for as soon as she got close it burrowed faster.
She started to dig after it, following it down until she got herself, rump in the air, stuck in the burrow. Her body was stuck about a few inches below her chest. She frantically tried to dig out but only brought more dirt down ontop of her. She let out a cry for help, her legs kicking in the air.

Phoenix Shelley had never in his life had the idea of sitting still in one place. Those that had taken it upon themselves to look after him were always running around trying to find him. Even as an adult, Ilori worried to death over Shelley. His memory span was too short and his innocence too large. He was 'special like a goldfish,' as Grinch put it, or at least so they felt.
That was reason enough for him to have ended up in the place where he was staring with wide eyes at a female's butt in the air but no head attached to the body.
Whoa.
Phoenix Shelley went over to poke her in the side, then his tongue lolled out a bit in amusement as he decided to tickle her before wrapping big arms around her stomach to try to pppuuuuullllll her out.
He was laughing. Ahahahahahaaa! What great fun!

Aika wriggled when she felt herself getting poked. Who did that she wondered. Her eyes went wide when she started getting tickled. She thrashed around, laughing, her voice muffled but still could be heard.
Whoever did this was going to pay...but...she felt paws wrapped around her and somebody pulling. Whoever it was, was trying to help her out! Yes! She scratched away more dirt, then did the one thing she would only do to her brother. She kicked her legs in an attempt to help, but felt it connect somewhere. She hoped it didn't hit the kind lion or lioness.
Almost...POP! The earth gave way and she flew backwards into the air, landing flat on her back. She groaned, sitting up slowly. "H..hello? Ow...Who helped me?"

Puuulll, pull--FWAP! Groan... Puullll--- And FWOOP, just like that, she was out!
Phoenix Shelley always wished he could come up with witty remarks like Grinch did and Bowser sometimes did, but witty remarks just didn't come to him unless he'd heard them before. Frankly, he hadn't seen them in this situation before to have anything to say.
Besides, his breath was knocked out of him from first being kicked in the tummy and then falling heads over heels backwards and landing on his tummy so he couldn't say anything. So his answer to her question was to just look up at her, "Erf."

Aika forced her sore body to move into a sitting position. The poor lion that had pulled her out was laying on his stomach. She must've kicked his stomach or something. She moved to her feet and walked over, gently nudging his cheek. "You ok? I'm sooooo sorry I kicked you."
She sat next to him and smiled. "You did poke me and tickle me though. So are we even then?" She was hoping he would not be mad at her or anything. It was an accident after all.

Phoenix grinned up at Aika, shaking his head. Then he sat up, eyes narrowing a little as he seemed to consider something. He bobbed his head up, up...no, down..up a little.. .There! "Now we're even." He informed her. Just the same height for now!
He tilted his head, now standing and sniffing at the kicked up dirt, then sniffing his head into the gigantic hole she had made. He looked back up, eyebrows lowered a bit in confusion, "How come you were burying yourself? You have a nice head, you don't need to make yourself headless. Besides, if you bury part of you, it should be your butt. I think a head is more useful than a butt."
It was a sincere statement.

Aika watched Pheonix Shelley as he adjusted his eye level, then smiled when he found it. He seemed pretty nice. His statement completally caught her off guard. She nodded, understanding what he meant. It was just the way he said it that made her laugh. She could tell from his tone that he was being sincere.
"I was chasing a mole. It dug down and I got stuck. I think I scared the poor thing. And now I ruined it's home too." She blushed when he said she had a nice head, then moved and tilted her head to the side. "I'm Aika. Who are you?"

Phoenix Shelley looked down at the hole, "You did not ruin it's home, you made it spacier! Who wants to live in a cramped space away from the moon all the time anyway?" He asked.
"I am Phoenix Shelley!" He announced in a manner with some grandeur. He bowed to her, looking at her the entire time with something in between a friendly look of greeting and a meek sort of concern of her approval. "Do you like the sun or the moon?"

Aika smiled and nodded. "Your right! The mole can see the moon now!" That made her feel a little better. Now her attention was back on him. She looked him over. His markings were beautiful.
"Ohhh! I love your name!" She smiled brightly, standing up and looking at him. "I actually love them both. The sun keeps you warm in the day, and the sun keeps you company at night"

Phoenix Shelley grinned, "I like my name too!" Then he tilted his head, eyes widening in surprise, "I met lions that liked the moon best and lions that liked the sun best and lions that didn't care no way and lions that didn't like either, but never a lion that liked both! Yay!"
He waved a paw in the air, as if waving a hello to the sun that was now out, "I always feared to say so, but that is how I think too. I just am glad to have one or the other, but I hate it when I have neither. I don't like the clouds or the no-moon...but I like the smiling moon!" He gave a grin of imitation.
Then he tilted his head, "Do you live in a place with all females and no males?"

Aika smiled brightly as Pheonix Shelley talked to her. How he explained things was so much fun to listen to. She giggled when he imitated the moon's smile. The cresent moon she figured. "Oh. I live alone now that I'm an adult." She trotted closer to him, then nipped his ear flakes and took off running. "Try and catch me!!!"

"Alone? Oh, but I'm told that isn't safe---Hey! It isn't safe to wander off alone either!" He called, then took off after Aika, hitting somewhere between mimicked concern and true playfulness.
Phoenix Shelley did know how to run and leap, but he hadn't had the cub-practice Aika had, and it was clear from the start that she was much nimbler than he was. P.Shelley had no chance at all at catching her.
So in the end he ended up standing in the middle of somewhere, not sure where Aika had gone, though he could smell her everywhere. "Hello, hello!?! You're just like the moon, I could see you all, then a smaller portion, the less, and no you're all gone!"

Aika had not realised she moved more agile than him. She stopped once she had climbed up a tree, now perched on a thick branch. She grinned and watched him until he stood in a wide opening, then positioned herself to pounce.
"I'm right here...and I..." She launched herself like a furry bullet. When she was right above him she finished her sentence. "GOTCHA!!!" THUD! She landed on him, pinning him to the ground with a grin. "I gotcha Pheonix Shelley!"

"WHOA! You do!" Shelley would have jumped out of his skin, except for the fact that Aika was on top of him. He batted at her, "You're really good at that." He chuckled, "Now, uhm, can you get off?"
He wiggled a bit, looking unsure as how to remedy the fact he had a lioness on top of him.

Aika giggled as she rolled off. "You sure are fun to be around. I hope we can hang out for a long time." She started to bat playfully at his tail feathers, a smile covering her face.
