Has anyone had bad luck playing the market?

Discuss your own MP Woes.

I would say I make pretty intelligent predictions when it comes to evolutions and the prices in the mp. Now, the only problem is... I have very bad luck.

When I make predictions and take action based on those predictions, bad things happen. When I make predictions and don't follow through, I miss out on something good.

Here's some examples:

1. Most would predict the Fremere's Guard would probably evolve today, and based on the price, it probably should have so... I bought one for the higher price of 152k. Outcome: It didn't evolve and now they're a good 10k lower.

2. I bought a fallen wish the other week and wanted to put it in the mp to make a profit right before evolving. Outcome: I had to rush out of the house and didn't come home until late and completely missed putting it in the mp to make the profit! Now the price is lower than when I even bought it! >_>

3. The wingding shirt is an awesome item to make a profit off of. Based on its price, it should take forever between evolutions. I wanted to buy a bunch before its next evolution but it surprised me and evolved today!

The good news is about all these incidents is that as long as I'm patient, I can still make my money back with all of them eventually.

I'll keep adding more amusing tales as they occur! XD

About me the only woes I care was the mispricing items.
My first mistake, that is always nerves me was on 2007, I sold my golden laurels for... 555 gold (3 zero less).
Happily my only second mistake was to forgot to put the 1 when I sold a GGR. I sold it 36k in place of 136k.

My first big mistake was buying kitty slipper for 50k..
Something that upset me the other day was I missed a gimpi fopr 21k,
I also missed the peak of the fallen wish, the highest I ever saw was 325k.
but other wise Im really careful when im not the MP.

My biggest woe was buying some MCs early and waiting until the final evolution to sell. I think I loss gold instead of making a profit sometimes, because the final evolution sucked. ; 3;

It gets frustrating at times because you simply can't predict which Ei's are going to be popular or not... so I never know the best time to buy low or which items are going to be best to profit off of.

Even the cheaper Ei's are capable of having high prices if they are popular...

One blunder I commonly make is stocking up on $3 Ei's since I can afford them... buuut they usually end up being very unpopular. I've stocked up on most $3 EXCEPT the Changeling Babies and they've turned out to be the most popular $3 item to date! XD

I'm not doing too much in the MP right now because this is the time of year when prices tend to slide, so I've found it's best to be very conservative in terms of risk when I buy. I look for much better margins right now than I might during December.

As for EIs, my observation is that the prices on them are VERY volatile, and if you're going to invest in them while they're still evolving, you have to have tough nerves and a lot of patience.

My biggest mistake was when i bought the angelic camisole for 450k then the following day it went down to 300k. Later i waited and i end up trading it for a demonic pitchfork then traded that item for 77k more so i got a profit that time but now i miss the angelic camisole and im hoping it will go down even more soon

As for the fallen wish thing, i sold it for 309k and if I would have waited two days i could have sold it for 344k.
