Guinevere stalked a small finch as it flew from one branch to the next. It zoomed from here to there, all the while letting her stay hot on its trail. Her smiled became a smirk, as she pounced on it. Gwen opened her paws to see the finch's little eyes look up at her in dismay. "I would never," she gasped as the small bird cowered. "To eat something as precious as you, why that my friend is just canabalism," Guinevere took her paws away from the finch as it zoomed around her head. It hovered for a minute and took off.
Gwen began to walk, padding quietly upon the soft ground. Her wings fluttered as she felt a chilly breeze blow on through making them feel uncomfortable, she stretched them to their full length. Settling back down against her back, Guinevere headed into a thick part of the forest. It became darker, and a tad frightening as she continued on through. Stopping, she tried to decide whether or not to turn back. She heard a twig snap and jumped. It's nothing, she though trying to calm her nerves.

Shilah breathed in the cool air that was approuching him as the day cooled down. His large paws cracked a few twigs as he stepped on them causing him to flinch. That was getting a little annoying. Quickly he found a clear path after hovering above the ground. A few birds flew over him as night continued it's fall. The woods he was in were getting darker faster and faster. It did not bother him, but others got lost in here on occasion. He mainly checked the woods every night to be sure no little ones had gotten seperated from their families. It had happened before.

She heard a few more twigs snap. They sounded pretty close too. Guinevere closed her eyes, thinking it'd make the falling dark fade away. It didn't work, it only made things worse. She glanced around, and began breathing hard. Her sister had said it was smart to get through this part of the woods earlier, Gwen was just too tired to listen. Again she calmed her nerves and breathed in and out calmly. She took a couple of steps and felt a branch break under her paws. Thinking of something that'd make the surroundings seem better, Gwen began to hum to herself quietly, all the while going deeper in.

His ears twitched as he heard somebody breathing heavily. A lost lion? He began padding in the direction of the noise, then spotted a bright green spotted lioness. She seemed very nervous. He smiled softly as he approuched, doing his best not to alarm her. He was a little bigger than most adult lions, but he was mainly just as cuddly as a teddy bear really.

"Hello there. Are you lost in here? I could lead you back out if you are." He spoke kindly, greatful he had found her before she'd wandered in too deeply.

She turned cautiously to face the lion that had spoke. At first she was spooked, and was getting ready to run, but her mind changed. Guinevere heard the kindness in his voice and spoke up. "I-" her first try a bit squeaky. Clearing her throat she tried again, "Yes I am actually. I was on my way home, but it began to get dark and I can't really find my way," Gwen treaded toward him. The faint light shining through the tops caught his eyes. They were nearly black. Some might've thought souless even, but she saw a kind and protective lion instead of some scary thing, and relaxed.

He realised she'd seen his dark eyes, his smile warm when she relaxed instead of tensed up. He was more used to the latter. He nodded as she answered his question. "I can lead you out. Where is your home located?"

Guinevere glanced around. She couldn't find the familiar path she took nearly every evening. The growth seemed to be different here as well. "I think I may have gone the wrong way," Gwen mummbled to herself now that she studied the surroundings more closely. "I'm completely, utterly lost. Uh. . .I took the wrong path." She not only studied the surroundings, as her eyes searched everywhere, they stopped on him.
Gwen noticed the long claws, and surprisingly she wasn't scared. Around him, it wasn't possible to be, not from what she could see. Though she did feel a little nervous. He was the first lion in a while she'd met, and shied away from him. "I'm bad at mapping out areas, so I'm sort of useless right now," Gwen said as she tried to find in what direction to head in.

Shilah nodded as she spoke. Getting lost was a common thing in this forest. He smiled warmly at her and looked up. "We could fly up until you recognise where you need to be." He stopped for a moment, taking a quick glance at her. She was, well, beautiful. Her green splotches seemed to glow as she stood there. He also noted that she remained calm around him. This was a very nice change to others getting scared of his appearance. "Your not useless. Your the one that will point us in the right direction." With that he lifted off the ground, waiting for her to follow.

Guinevere nodded. He was sweet, smart and apparently not afraid of flying at night. She had a bad case of fear for flight in the dark. Gwen looked to him as he lifted off the ground. "I suppose that would help," she said in a quiet voice. Her wings stretched for a moment before she was off the ground, hovering near him. "Where shall we start?" Gwen asked him, since he knew these parts of the woods better than she. Even though she feared flying in the dark, her want to get home was stronger, so she managed to convince herself this was the only other way. Also, Guinevere felt as though she could trust him, even if she was shy.

Shilah watched her as she took off and hovered next to him. "You seem nervous, are you alright? If your not comfortable flying right now that's alright. We can walk." He smiled showing she was not bothering him. However he could help her would be fine with him. He just wanted her to get home safely. "Getting you home safely is what matters the most."

"I'm fine I assure you. I just don't like being out here in the dark alone," Guinevere peered around. She swore she heard a loud bird caw off in the distance, sending chills up her spine. "Thank you, you're sweet. I don't mind the flying, it's mainly flying in the dark. My mother once had gotten lost when I was a cub, and I haven't seen her since," Guinevere had never told anyone that before. She had grown up being raised by her father nearly her whole life. Gwen saw how the colors of his fur seemed shine softly in the dull light. He was beautiful, where she knew others might've thought him frightening.

"If your sure, then here we go." He gently took one of her paws, leading her up higher until they could see above the tree tops. He hoped she could see alright in the dark. And that she didn't mind that he took her paw. He kind of did that out of instinct as he planned to lead her up. The last thing needed was to lose her. "I can assure you that everything is alright. I won't let anything hurt you, alright? I'm Shilah by the way." He smiled to her, then looked out to the many paths in and out of the forest.

Guinevere nodded. She let him lead her, and was surprised when he took her paw but didn't say anything. "I trust you," she said simply and kindly. "I know you wouldn't, you're very kind," Gwen smiled warmly. Her eyes adjusted to the dark, and she was able to see fine through the night. The cold wind that passed through her wings made her shiver, but other than the cold there was nothing wrong. She actually found she liked being in the air at night. Gwen looked to Shilah, as he looked to the paths in and out of the forest. "I'm Guinevere, but you can call me Gwen if you'd like."

Shilah let go of her paw once they reached the tops of the trees mainly because he thought it might've freaked her out. He looked over to her. "Do you recognise anything?" He smiled when she introduced herself. "You have a lovely name Gwen."

Guinevere glanced around. A winding path to the very right of her looked vaguely familar. "That one," she pointed to the path. It was close to a stream, and Guinevere was sure it was the right one. "And thank you, I do love your name. Do you have any nicknames?" she asked hovering closer next to him. "You know the nights beautiful. I haven't seen stars like this," Gwen didn't mean to jump from one topic to the next, she was sort of still shy around him.
