Pendari and Eric were both taken to holding cells. While lower standing kore representatives discussed the reward with Piper.

Pen let out a small laugh as she leaned against the wall of her own cell. "We're being stored for now, Eric. The fun stuff will come soon, I promise you." She closed her eyes, "You shouldn't have come. You should have let Piper take me, and just let be."

"So are you trying to say I'm something like a black cowboy, or what, Eric?" Pen rolled her eyes but couldn't resist a slightly amused smile. "What's your idea, midget?"

Pendari turned to Eric with an odd look. "That is horribly disgusting, I hope you know. But aside from that, get the damned things out and get yourself out of here."

"You realize if I get you killed both Hattie and Jarred will have my head?" She let out a long sigh, and leaned to the back of the cell. "It won't be long till it starts up."

As she finished her statement the prison entrance slid open and General Bryne walked in. He was a man of average height, dark hair, but had features that always reminded pen of a ferret, thin and pointed. "Pendari and Chase. It was assumed you were on earth hiding behind the Emperor's skirt." He walked over to Pen's cell a dark smile on his thin mouth. "But I knew better. Gautrine never liked to sit out of the games." He opened up Pen's cell, and grabbed her by the braids, Pen letting out a shout of protest at the violation. "We'll deal with you later, Chase. First things first." Bryne dragged Pen out of the cell and into a different room.

538 awakens in a stasis cell where he is stored while not put to work. The the liquid that puts him into hibernation already drained a scientist drops the containment field and 538 steps down and stands staring at the wall across from him as another scientist goes through a check list of minor tests done every time 538 is woken. After the tests he is fitted into his battle armor then moves through the ship to report to the officer placed in command of the bio engineered weapon.

(mmm home grown weapons.... I don't understand why no one has any characters on Kore's side...)

The room Pen had been dragged into was soundproof, holding all screams inside. Around an hour later she was dragged back out, missing her mechanical arm, the stump dark and bleeding where the attachment had been torn off. Pen moved into the corner of her cell holding what was left of her arm close. Half of her hair was undone from the braids, shining a dark copper color, thick and smooth as any Ecacian hair, though it had been slightly tangled. She reached up and stroked one of her remaining braids letting out a soft whimper when the braid came to a jagged end, where it had been sliced off.
