K i n d n e s s A b o u n d s Maziel closed his eyes underneath his bandana softly. Today would be a long day. He was to be with a child again. It made him nervous, as meeting with children always did. He was worried he might not be able to teach the kids what they needed to be taught to survive. It made him feel guilty if he didn't treat the kids right, and he was nervous when without his brother at his side.
He could do nothing but wait for this girl named Allete. She sounded like a ncie person, a mix of Sloth and Chastity. It may be a bit of trouble teaching a sloth girl.. she might just not listen to him. Maybe her ability could be something calm like healing or telepathy... nothing that would require too much energy.
...
There was nothing to do but wait, so he sat on his stump and waited.

Stomp. Stomp. Stomp. Stomp. Loud footsteps sounded outside the door before they stopped and the door opened to reveal a rather grumpy girl. Her mother stood behind her, giving her a little push into the classroom. Allete scowled and stomped her way towards the teacher before giving a huff and crossing her arms. Her expression read "Okay, so try and teach me something. I dare you."
Niki sighed and shook her head. Children...

K i n d n e s s A b o u n d s Maziel looked withdrawn as the girl glared at him. He frowned softly an walked over to her. "Come now. Why are you so upset? I can't teach you when you're upset. Your magic won't work right." He spoke calmly. "Come sit by me on the stump. " He took a 'glance' to the lady, apparently the girl's surrogate mother. He smiled to her. "You may take a seat wherever you like." He lead Allete through his small forest and to his little clearing with the stream running through.
"Now, please take large breaths and try to calm yourself or your abilities will not reveal themselves to you." He soothed. "Unless, of course, your powers are derived from anger. "

Niki retreated, now that her daughter was in the capable (or so she hoped) hands of the teacher. Allete just looked at the man like he was crazy. "Stupid. Waste of time. Wanna play more Quake." She glanced about the clearing they'd come to and sighed.
"Abilities?" She glanced back at the man when he said that. "Powers? Like... superhero powers?"

K i n d n e s s A b o u n d s Maziel smiled at the girl. "Of course! Flying without wings, setting things on fire, controlling the weather. You name it, it's probably in reality. Now, Allete, it is my belief that every person is born with a power they are best at. Duncan can burn and Adriel controls water, for example. I don't know if you know them, but they were my previous students." He smiled softly and sat down on his stump again, motioning for her to sit beside him.
"But since you're not exactly human, I'm willing to bet your powers are amplified, it's just a matter of finding what it is." He explained to the girl. "So, are you ready to start?"

Allete listed to the list of powers that the teacher rattled off. She had wings, so she could already fly.... why would she want to fly without them? Setting things on fire would be awesome! She thought for a moment and shook her head. "No, don't know them."
"I guess? How do you find it?"

K i n d n e s s A b o u n d s Maziel smiled softly and spoke. "Well. I forcibly activate any potential gifts one has." He replied, waving his hand over Allete's arm gently, with bits of blue coming out of his fingertips and to Allete. "Alright. do what feels natural, whether its waving your arms or taking a belch." He chucked softly. "Either way, something should happen." He explained. Of course, he didn't really know who had what powers, so he couldn't predict whether or not it would hurt anyone. However, a misty forest was a great insulator of the deadly things like explosions, and he could take care of a flood.

Do what comes natural? ... Did sleep count? Because that was her favorite activity... and it was rather natural for her. But every other time she fell asleep in class, the teachers didn't like it... So she yawned.... letting out a gust of wind that seemed a bit strong to be just a normal yawn.
Allete blinked. What the-?

K i n d n e s s A b o u n d s Maziel chuckled softly once more, watching the new wind flatten some foliage. "Well, we now know what you can do." He stated to his student. "Though, this is the first time I've seen someone able to yawn such a strong gust of wind. Congratulations." He murmured. "Now, try to do it again, on your own." He murmured. "It might take a bit of effort though, if you have touble I'm always here to help." He smiled and shook his head. He doubted even he could do that much.

Allete shrugged. She yawned a lot. Perhaps she'd just gotten really good at it? She frowned as the teacher wanted her to try it again. What, yawn? Okay. The girl yawned once again, though without the effects of the previous one. Hmmm.... another yawn... and another that was exactly her idea... and another.... Now she was yawning, her eyes were drooping... yup, Allete was starting to fall asleep.

K i n d n e s s A b o u n d s Maziel frowned. He shook the girl gently. "Hey. Allete? Are you awake? If you're not awake we can't train your powers. Don't you want to learn more abouy what you can do?" He asked in a panicked way. He never had to deal with a sloth kid before, but he knew that his brother had a solution that always worked, and he didn't want to go to the violent measures his brother was so eager to take. He looked distressed.

The girl stirred with a frown. Sleep was so good... why did everyone want to make her stay awake? She groaned and stretched arms and wings and other wings. And yawned, this one rather like the first in strength. "Oh."
She frowned. "How do I make it do that when I want it to?"

K i n d n e s s A b o u n d s Maziel thought to himself. "Yawn like you did the first time, but point it somewhere like a tree or something and try to concentrate. Maybe it'll be a bit like target practice... they have those in video games too, target practice before you use it for real useful stuff. " He smiled, trying to relate her powers to something most teens found entertaining and hoping she enjoyed that kinda things. He didn't want her to lose any respect in him,if she hadn't already by just how he acted and spoke.

Allete frowned. The target practice parts were the boring parts of the games... but you had to go through them. She shrugged and eyed one of the trees nearby. Now... how had she yawned? Just thinking of yawning was making her sleepy again.
She gave a little shake of her head and tried to yawn like the first time again. She jumped a bit when it seemed to work...

K i n d n e s s A b o u n d s Maziel looked surprised as he heard the tree crack and give way, falling down. "O-oh... I don't think we should do that again. These trees are expensive. Try it on patches of grass instead. Yoou're very good at this, y;know... even though it is a faily violent power you have. Please don't use it to harm people." He spoke calmly, waiting to Allete to find another target to shoot.
