I just half way through school now and we had a fifth cycle project to do. Basically we are allowed one night in a studio to track a band, group, whatever we want. The only catch was we had to use eight tracks at once.
I got my hands on some nice mics. A neotek elite console and Neve VR console. Otari MTR90, pro tools hd. TC electronic m3000, yamaha spx90, lexicon pcm80, AND THE EVENTIDE H3000. I love the eventide.
It was a lot of fun, the majority of us recorded each other since it was the first time we have tracked on our own. We did get to track a semi pro band last sunday though. That was pretty cool. Nice guys.
Any way, most of us finished our mixes the other night so here are a few of them.
I thought I'd post this here since Midnight Booty Clap would have some lulz. BTW IT'S NSFW. I did three mixes of it. The first two are the same take. The song sucks but it's the lyrics that are hot. Guitar is more guitar oriented in the mix. Vox was cool, I got to mess around with an eventide harmonizer on the vocals.
the last MBC was messed up. I had to scrap the vocal track. I saved it into logic though. I think something was wrong with the patch cable though. It only got the left side. sad
