Pales wandered into the waiting room. The door swung open before him with a silent woosh as air was forced backwards by the force. At his side was a small yellow eyed boy with pointed ears and ram-horns. The boy looked fairly healthy, as he clung to a dwarf plush with one arm and with the other he gripped onto the side of the tall man's coat.
Pales flicked his hair out of his gaze as he looked around with a small sigh, "Let's sit over here. I know you aren't fond of this idea but we won't be long I am sure." It seemed a little odd to bring something not really human into a clinic or hospital.
The boy just grunted at the man let go of the coat and clampered into a chair hugging the plush with both arms possessively.

Andi muttered as Arri led him by the hand to the clinic, and through the front doors, the waiting room busy - as it always was. It was just a stupid little cough. It wasn't like he was dying or anything. But dad insisted, and Andi had to obey, even if it meant leaving Natty at home, and he really hadn't wanted to.
He sighed, and flopped into a chair near a dark-haired man, and their child. He just looked straight ahead, and burst into another coughing fit.
Arri knew who Pales was, and managed to find a seat beside him, much as his son had found a seat beside Armel.
"Evenin', Mr. Pales sir."

Pales offered a cheerful smile, as was his usual behavior, "Hello there. This is an odd coincidence to see you here." He replied.
Armel gave the boy next to him the smallest of a glance before looking away again. He buried his face into the back of the plush, or at least it's head. He sat in silence for a moment before turning to the boy, who was apparently older than him, "Aye, what ye in fer?" He spoke gruffly as if he were in prison and Andi happened to be a new inmate in his cell.

"Oh not much..."
Andi replied, a trifle cynnically.
"Hacking my lungs up with each breath, that's all."
He went into another coughing fit, hand pressed tightly against his chest. Even for cynnacism, he was softspoken - and it wasn't as harsh as it might have been, had he been a gruffer sort of person.
Arri shrugged, and looked at the table in front of them, grabbing a pamphlet about childcare, and pretending to read it, before speaking.
"Armel not feeling well, I take it?"

Armel lofted a brow, and then tilted his head, "Aye, sor'y to hear o' that." He sounded sincere when he said this. "I'm 'ere cause my Da' is a worry-wart." He nodded sagely, "'E says it is not normal for dreams t'hurt."
Pales shrugged himself and sighed, "It is just he gets these odd phantom when he goes to sleep. Sometimes he wakes up crying. I do not believe that to be normal...There are these marks fading into his skin. I spied them while checking up on him during his bath." He looked at the back of his hands for a moment, "They aren't just random bruises."

Arri shook his head a little, and looked over at the kids.
"No - that's not normal. Andi started coughing earlier this week - also after sleeping. I gave him some kid's remedies for colds and such, but nothing's helping, and I think he's getting worse. It almost sounds like... well... he's slowly drowning. Which is impossible, but... Need to get these things checked, yanno?"
- - -
Andi blinked, and looked over at Armel, tiling his head.
"He's right. Dreams shouldn't hurt. Mine do, though... when I dream of the water... and then I wake up with this cough. It's wierd. So dad brought me here. What's your story?"

Armel blinked, "Bet'er than 'avin' to wake up t'pee I guess." He wasn't quite the most refined little boy ever. "I keep dreamin' 'bout being bullied an' stuff. They make me go get pic'ures done on m'body wi' needle 'n ink. Well, they don' make me...I do it to prove somethin' to 'em." For a moment he looks lost, "'Lest I think it is me doin' it. Why woul' I dream o' someone else?"
Pales nodded a bit in response to Arri and sighed, "I don't know what I would do if something really bad happens to him. I'd probably loose it." He frowned and bowed his head.

Andi shrugged a bit, and broke into another coughing fit. It sounded worse than the last one. Like his lungs were getting more and more congested. By the minute. Highly unusual.
"Well... sure. It'd have to be you, wouldn't it? Someone else's dreams... you can't do that, it's not right, and it's impossible. But at least they're not killing you or trying to hurt you really badly, or anything else like that."
He offers the ram-child a small smile, and breaks into another coughing spasm.
- - -
Arri sighed, and shook his head again, running a hand through his hair.
"To tell you the truth, Mr. Pales... I'm not entirely sure what's wrong with Andi. He'll be sleeping peacefully, then spring awake, coughing and gasping for breath. When I ask what's wrong, all he'll say is "See, see, water... see." and then pass out again. Usually does this about twice per evening.... I'm worried."

Armel frowned, the boy certainly seemed to be getting worse. He looked down at his plush and tilted his head, "Y'Right." He replied after the spasm passed for at least a moment and then he did something he doesn't normally and that is reach up and pat the other's boy arm as if to lend comfort. "S'alright." He said sagely.
Pales nodded at Arri and shook his head, "We'll both hopefully get things figured out in the end. Things can't possibily get worse."

Arri gave a nervous little laugh, and sighed.
"Something I've learned, Mr. Pales.... Someone very wise once told me - "When you say that things can't possibly get any worse than they already are... they do." - Knocking on wood is drawing attention to the problem at hand.... The best policy in this situation - is just dealing with things as they come."
- - -
Andi smiled down at the littler one. His eyes were sunken in his head, and his skin far paler than usual. He actually LOOKED sick as a dog. Probably felt it, too. Especially with the way he was wheezing every time he inhaled and exhaled.
"I hope you're right, mate."

Pales looked thoughtful, and chuckled, "No wonder why my childhood sucked, I lived that policy for a good portion of it." He was trying to be good humored but it came out more bitter than anything.
Armel rewarded the comment with one of his rare smiles, "Wan' hold Flint f'r a while? I c'nt g've 'im to ye but ye may hold him a while. A good 'n special person gave 'im to me."

Andi smiled a bit, and took Flint into his arms, giving him a good squeeze. Childish as the practice may have been, stuffed animals provided lots and lots of coomfort when hugged. He then gave the animal back to Armel, looking tired.
"Thanks... it means a lot."
He smiled again, and coughed.
- - -
"I just hope it doesn't hold true for Andi...."
He put his head in his hands, and ran his fingers through his hair, frusterated and worried.

He accepted the toy back and sort of played with the plush's hair idly, "No problem, " he replied, "Urrm." Armel looked thoughtfully. Andi looked too sick to want to play or so the boy figured, "I'm Armel D'Arcy." He said his name outloud as if practicing for the feel and taste of it upon his tongue.
Pales glanced over at the Armel and Andi. The man smiled a bit before looking back at Arri, "At least one good thing seems to be happening. The boys appear to be getting along pretty well."

Andi smiled, and chuckled slightly.
"That's quite a mouthful. I'm just Andrael. No last name, that I know of."
He broke into another coughing fit, and had to pretty much slump out of the chair, and sit on the floor to keep from passing out.

"They do at that... Maybe there's a friendship in the making..."

The boy shrugged, "Da' gim'e his last name..." He trailed off watching Andi's movements as his fits started. When the boy was on the floor he joined him with a small frown, "S'not gettin' bett'r." Armel said softly.
Pales' face was a mixture of concern as well as curiosity as he watched Armel try to comfort Andi he looked back at Arri with a small nod, "Armel seems capable of making friends, hasn't met one yet that he is at total odds with."
