"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here for a meeting!"

This was shouted out by Fleetingstar, the leader of Windclan. He waited until enough warriors have come forward to speak again. It didn't take that long as it was almost nighttime, and many of them have finished their duties for today.

"If you don't know yet, prey is being stolen from our territory for the last several days. As you know, this is completely unacceptable. From Riverclan no less. It's obvious that they've been commiting this crime as the remains have the scent of fish on it. I intend to stop this behavior once and for all."

Pausing a moment to catch his breath, he continued after the cats have finished murmuring to themselves.

"Tonight, I will lead a large patrol to catch the culprits. Whether their leaders know about these activities, I do not know, but they will be informed before the next sunrise and justice will be dealt by both clans. This cannot happen again, especially during hard times like these.

"Anyone wishing to join should step forward now."

Halcyontail, unfortunetly, was not aware of the announcement made by Fleetingstar. She, with some other cats, was already crossing the border and entering the moors of Windclan.

She was opposed to it first. Riverclan had other sources of prey besides the river. And the two-legs can't guard it all the time. But as time went by, their long furs couldn't cover the bony angles that showed through. They were going to starve at this rate. They had to.

They had enough prey to share anyways. The first expedition revealed more rabbits than she had ever seen in her lifetime. Everyone was full that day.

And it was easy to bypass the patrols that were around the border. Using the cover of darkness to their advantage, they slipped past the unsuspecting cats and continued to feast of plentiful food.

Tonight felt different though. The she-cat couldn't figure out why. Oh well. They've been doing so well, why should they stop because of her anxiousness?

Shellpath only recently received her warrior name. She had been held back by her blindness, but that was one of her strongest assets, as she learned specially devised hunting and fighting techniques. If not for her determination and mentor's flexibilty, she may have never become a Warrior.

The wind blowing from the moor made her flinch, and close her sightless eyes. soft pawsteps were all around her, as she padded along within the group of cats. Sure, she wasnt much use at hunting the rabbits, but she could try. Plus, her attuned senses let her help the others in discovering rabbit burrows.

Perhaps this was not the best way to be spending her time, as she was just now made a warrior. But her roguishness had led her here. Her paws itched to run off onto the moorland, but she could easily get taken by a windclan warrior if she was caught unaware, and would jepordize their efforts. She knew what they were doing was against the warrior code, but what did StarClan wan them to do? Starve?

She sniffed the gusts of wind tentativley while she followed the others. There was no sign of Windclan warriors out tonight. Her ears flicked as she heard quick steps not far away. It was a rabbit! It must have come out of its hole, thinking the night would be safe. She flicked her tail towards where the rabbit was, hissing quietly to bring the others attention to it.

Moonshadow sheathed and unsheathed her claws anxiously, drawing her tounge over her muzzle, and he eyes alight with hunger for bloodshed. Everycat knew she was demented. Her fur looked odd in the twilight. She was given her name for the way her fur seems to change color in the moonlight.

She stepped forward, shill upearthing the ground with needle sharp claws.
"I'll be happy to assist in warning these intruders of the thin ie they're on," She mewed in a sort of sing songish voice. Despite her fur clinging to bone, she felt energy flood her at a good battle. Last time they were wrong about Riverclan stealing, but this time, they were sure. and more than likley, the cats would be on the moors again, this very night.

Flurrytwist padded along with his clanmates, trying to make himself as small as possible. He knew he wasn't the best choice for a covert nighttime mission, since his white fur could be easily seen in the dark, but he was as hungry as any Riverclan cat and wanted to do something. He had to home that there would be enough snow to hide him. Or better yet, that Windclan never noticed their group.

He jerked his head towards Shellpath's as she hissed, then looked where the other cat pointed and spotted the rabbit. Great, the sooner they caught their prey, the sooner they'd be able to head back to the clan. He crouched down, ready to dash at it and hoping he'd be fast enough to catch the swift rabbit.

IceFang followed silently, watching for any signs of trouble. He didn't like this, stealing prey from Windclan, but the clan needed food. They just weren't finding enough in their own territory.

He turned his head when Shellpath hissed, drawing his attention to the rabbit and then to the crouching cat. Hopefully, they would have good luck in their hunts tonight; and would be able to return to Riverclan soon. It just didn't feel like a good night to be out here in Windclan territory.

FlutterBy... Whom was quite bored at the moments eyes rolled as he was the last one to be following the patrol. His fur blowing in the wind uncomfortably he heard the hiss of another cat in his clan and when down eyes searching under brush and the dirt. He spotted the rabbit and would have been one of the ones to attacks when he saw another rabbit... smaller... the same color as the one that was just found but closer to him. Keeping his eyes locked and his black coat bending in he hissed also.

Rollinggust stepped forward, a unfamiliar anger sparking in her foggy eyes. She twitched every once in a while, but stood confident, wanting to teach Riverclan a lesson once and for all. "I'll be glad to," she muttered, before glancing over to her only friend, Wanderingthoughts. He sure may not have the heart to face a starving clan but she sure did! Flicking her slightly spazing tail she lowered her eyes, quite sure though if they did meet in battle she would not be able to even let a growl erupt from her throat. Hopefully they'd be able to negotiate this out.

Halcyontail was snapped out of her thoughts by the hiss of another cat. A Riverclan cat, thankfully. She crept towards the group that had gathered around the rabbit, also waiting for someone to pounce on it. She glanced at the cats surrounding her, wondering who was going to do it. Not her. She was better at fishing than hunting. Much better. She didn't want to screw up in front of her clanmates, not when she had to prove herself more, being a half-clan cat.

Fleetingstar nodded in approval of Rollinggust and Moonshadow. They were good warriors, and would help teach the treacherous fleabags not to mess with Windclan.

It was barely enough though. They needed more cats on this patrol.

At the news of RiverClan's crimes, Bramblestone sat up attentively. Her eyes grew wide with mingled anger and excitement, her tail lashing back and forth. "I'll go, Fleetingstar!" she called out intently. At last! A chance to distinguish herself for the clan! Those thieving fish-breaths would be no match against WindClan. Just because they had left their territory once didn't mean they would not defend it with every drop of blood in their bodies.

Bramblestone stood up and stepped forward with Moonshadow and Rollinggust, nodding to her fellow warriors. She flicked her tail at her friend Fleetwing and watched the rest of the Clan. Come on, mighty as the three of us are, it will take a full patrol to tackle this band... she thought.

"I suppose I'll go," murmured the blacked splotched she-cat, a hint of uncertainty wavering in her voice. Panicfur stirred behind her clanmates while they spoke among themselves. She was uncomfortable with the decision, wishing that the clans could work out their problems. Leafbare was harsh this year, and obviously other clans would raid other clans forests or barren lands for prey so they too, could survive. But she knew that this was the only right thing to do, as she believed that if they tried figuring out something it would end in blood splatter. If she thought about it, blood splatter was already nearing, with the patrol. A sigh left her throat and she pawed at her tail.

The talk of driving them away seemed hostile in a sense, and she looked around suddenly, looking worried and somewhat scared. For a deputy, she cared more about the peace between clans rather than hostility. Every time fight broke out she could be seen with a frightened expression on her face, worried for all the clans, hoping to make peace. She was hoping the intruded Riverclanners weren't hunting on their territory tonight. Her chances were slim though, she already thought that they would be searching the territory for prey.

Her head fell, and she sighed, blocking out the talk as she readied for the patrol.

SootStep. Her orange eyes clouded with hunger as they stared solemnly out into the windy moors, where a RiverClan had sent hunting patrol to hunt for the food they could no longer find in there own territory. She didn't resent them for it. What else could they do? No cat could live without prey and she knew the rest of her Clan felt they had no choice. She herself could feel the spiders crawl over her body, which was now little more then bone and fur.

Still...' she thought digging her claws into the snow covered earth. 'We should not go against the warrior code!' she drew back her lips in a hiss "Freeze the river, do what you like. I will find prey for my Clan in RiverClan or I will not swallow." she lashed out her tail before turning to head for the river. She would not go against the warrior code. It was set like an ancient delicate web and she would not be the one to brake or stray from it. As long as she was strong enough to search for prey.

"I'll go," Hawkwing growled.
He felt like bristling with anger, but he knew it'd be better to stay calm. Rashness would make things worse... but if they thought this through with a plan, they'd really be able to teach RiverClan a lesson.
The warrior code must be upheld, no matter what the reason. Without the warrior code, the clans would fall apart.

Anxiety and nervousness flooded Rainsong's body like a really strong wave. She felt bad about breaking the warrior code and stealing prey from WindClan, but her clan was starving.
Her belly growled and she could see the ribs of her clanmates. Surely it would be okay given their situation? Nevertheless, she padded on in silence, her head hanging.
Please forgive me...

Ears pricked for the quietest sound... eyes weary of the tiniest motion, all muscles ready to drop into a crouch and spring if either detected anything but the land was bear. Becoming clearer and clearer now why her clan was crossing borders. She couldn't find anything for herself let alone the clan but she would not give into winters cruel turns just yet.

Just then she heard a rustle, say a blur of gray fur in the grass 'vole, at last!' her orange eyes brightened with joy of her find as she bent down into the hunter's crouch. Tail tip twitching, licked her lips eagerly as she imagined it's warm body between her jaws. Slowly she crept forward, paw over paw till she was just inches way. Just then the water vole turned, jolted into foliage nearer to the river. 'No you don't' pounced landing on her prize yes, but to her suprize she was sliding as well. The vole scrapped to get away but it's attempts were useless on the slippery surface and she quickly killed it with a claw before picking up the prey in her jaws. 'RiverClan has prey yet' ^^.

SootSteps flattened her ears in annoyance as she tried to maneuver on the ice. Her pads stinging painfully from the cold on the frozen surface. 'How do the twolegs do it?'

"Try and stop me from going!" Roared the overly large black and white tom know as Tornadotail. He padded forwards having joined the meeting just a bit late. Tornado had started to go on patrol when he just barely heard the leader's call. Tornado seemed calm enough, but the fact that something like this was happening made him furious. "It's not as if they would just sit and watch if we started fishing. Which was something Tornadotail had been tempted to do in the past, where he came from fishing was a way of life

Passioncharm followed the group into Windclan territory, if he wasn't a stuttery chap before he was now. "Oh...w..w...we're ...g...ggg...goonna get caught I I just know ...eh...it." Hunger was the only thing that pushed him further on. He noticed the rabbit everyone was starting to group around. They were fishers not rabbit hunters. Still perhaps the trip he used with his adopted father to herd fish could help them. "I...I'm ggonna go around see if I c-can't flush it towards you." Passioncharm started to make his way towards the other side of the rabbit, taking a long path to make sure not to spook it.

SootSteps closed her eyes as she considerate hard on remembering what it was they did. She had a strange habit of watching the two legs more closely then the other cats in RiverClan... or in any Clan for that matter. Had all ways thought a cat could learn a thing or two from them and didn't care if they thought her odd. That swaying motion, a gentle rhythm... thats what it was. Moved a paw slowly forward then the next and so on. Smiled as she stared to make her way across river where she scrambled back on the snowy bank.

'May the snow cover their white furs.' she prayed to Starclan, hoping their ancestors would be with the hunting patrol as she patted off toward camp.

Camp was quieter then usual... she could see her thoughts reflected on her clanmates own troubled face. "We've faced leafbear before, we can do it again." she huffed, as she walked up to the freshkill pile. Turned her lip in disgust "Smells more like WindClan then RiverClan!" nearly half if not all the prey was from enemy territory. Stomach twisted 'Surely they have noticed' wondered how well the half starved hunting patrols where hiding their tracks.

Sighed as she dropped the water vole on the ground and crouched down to feast. "... be suprized if this even touchs my hunger." muttered giving the rabbits a second glance. 'No, I will not eat from WindClan!' she growled digging her teeth into vole.
