Name: Shora Stromsten
Gender: Female
Age: 23
Physical Description: Stromsten isn’t the most physically fit person by a long shot, muscle mass equivalent to someone who’s never seen a barbel set in their life and her skin somewhat pale from being inside too often up until now. Due to her new military lifestyle, the woman has had her fair share of skin burns as well, as her body slowly adjusts to tanning properly. She stands at an average to taller than average height, but does not have any form of towering presence because she is just too skinny.
She has a somewhat angular face, enhancing the cutting quality of her maroon eyes. This can really give her a cruel, superior look when staring down at someone, although she really intends to put others down in such a way. Other than that, Shora’s hair almost matches her eyes: dark red, almost brown in colouration and fashioned into an unimaginative, wavy mess abruptly ending above her earlobes.
Personality: I'll write this some other time. Meanwhile, RP to find out...
History: Shora Stromsten was born into a middle-class family like many average members of the nation’s military, growing up with a relatively average life in New Helic City, if any of us can describe the life of those on Planet Zi to be ‘average’. As was expected, she was to be flung head-first into the ongoing rivalry between the Helic Republic and Guylos Empire as she matured, due to her mother and father both serving in the military in some shape or form, usually in the area of intelligence and research going into the designs of ever greater and more powerful Zoids. However, despite the bas taste in the mouth left by it, the war had ended years ago, indecisive and leaving vast swathes of the land inhabited only by gangs and abandoned towns.
The threat to the peave presented by these groups is what compelled Shora to join the military herself. While she was still too young to legally pilot a Zoid, she knew from her parents’ stories of the old war that one could still protect their entire existence without actually putting their life on the line. She got into the area of researching and redesigning Zoids to upgrade them and make them more capable of their job, mainly as an apprentice due to the actual job itself being owned by much older, more experienced researchers.
Much of this wasn't exactly needed, Shora being one of those who saw the partnership between the two factions as shaky, her family having seen how their former enemy could turn on them so easily. As such she was one of the few who devoted their lives to further improving republican Zoids, rather than working on the growing friendship between the two nations, grudges forgotten. For five years, Shora grew and greatly fostered her knowledge of the physics around Zoids, both republican and imperial, and contributed her own theories on how their performance could be worked on and exploited to an advantage.
She came to the point of mainly working on light, reconnaissance Zoids and platforms, such as the Gun Sniper, which were capable of keeping an eye on Guylos, pirates and anything in between, hopefully preventing another war if needed. So far, this has not been needed however, as the events caused by Hiltz and Deathsaurer and Death Stinger further solidified the pact between the two nations.
Now, after obtaining her own Zoid through a complete fluke, Shora has started to try and convince herself that even countries can change. Leaving the role of behind-the-lines observer, she’s decided to try and test some of her theories using a Snipe Master Zoid, in the Republic’s military. This also means that she has to participate in the ongoing fight against outside parties which would want to renew the conflict, and despite the fact that she is quite self-conscience about the risk to herself, she has managed to figure out that this helps to contribute to her original goal anyway:
The protection of her homeland.
Update: In the military training program, Shora passed all of the theory in a flash with almost no study, already knowing everything from her previous experience with Zoids. Up until the President's Formal in which an assassination attempt was made upon the Republic's General she was working full-time on learning the controls of her Zoid and very basic assignments such as guarding bases. Now that she's out of basic training, Shora has committed herself to private training and getting to know her Zoid better, hoping to improve her technique for when she may need it in a more important mission. This is mostly accomplished through off-duty spars using paint rounds.
