So, not exactly webdesign, I know. BUT.. you can use it in your webdesign for icons etc.
I would like to know if anyone has any books, websites or something else they can recommend to me. I really want to master this art, and so far I've only been able to make a few, not very detailed pixel arts. ((Below and above))

I was given this book for my birthday:
Character Design for Mobile Devices: Mobile Games, sprites, and pixel art
By NFGMan
ISBN: 2-940361-12-6
It contains just about everything from 'what is a Pixel?' to the history of all the different gaming devices and includes steps on making pixel sprites.

practice practice practice!
take everyday things (usually a camera) and try to pixel them.
What I do is make a big version (512x512) and then resize it down.
