It was a rather nice day to be out in the meadows. A slight overcast kept the sun from being too bright against the snow, and the soft blowing winds were warm. As much as Tay enjoyed their home in the forest, it was very nice to hang out in the vast openness once and awhile and gave a lot of space for the kids to play. He sat gently in the snow with Eiriol, playing solitaire to pass some of the time. Eiri watched trying to really figure out the game until Suli came by. He wanted very much to play with his brother.

Julia sat down next to Tabor and nuzzled him gently. She didn't want to disturb his game, but she sat and watched him quietly.
Suli also watched carefully, huddled next to Julia. Every so often he would peek over at Eiri, wondering if his brother would want to play with him or not. He liked playing with his brother. He was too shy to play with other kits or teens, but he didn't have to be nervous around his brother.

Tay smiled still looking at his game when he felt Julia. He then looked at the cards and scooped them up. "Dead game..." he muttered.
With the cards picked up Eiri looked up at Suli and smiled. He walked up and tapped Suli's head then took a few steps back. "Hey Suli?" he said with a grin, "Tag! You're it!" Eiri had a lot of his father in him in that once he was comfortable he was really quite friendly and fun. He didn't have much of the cat's younger daredevil side but that was for the best, it'd keep him out of trouble.

Julia nuzzled him again, sort of apologetically, sorry that his game had been a dead one. "Better luck next time?" She said, and smiled. She wondered if he would catch the irony, and if he would find it funny or not.
Suli blinked in surprise as he was tagged on the head. He wasn't very fast, nor very good at tag. "O...okay.." he said and jumped after Eiri.

Tabor smiled, "Cute," he chuckled, "Hopefully I have better luck. I like getting to mix up the cards when I win."
Eiri ran through the snow trying to keep away from his brother. Luckily as far as speed went they were pretty evenly matched making the game more enjoyable...well for Eiri anyway. It was going well too until Eiri's foot caught a rock under the snow. He tripped, rolling forward and sat there for a moment, stunned.

She chuckled too. "Surely you will. Want me to play a game with you?" She hadn't played cards with him in awhile. She lifted her eyes to check on Suli and Eiri, and then let them fall back on Tabor.
Suli was running after his brother, trying his best to catch up and tag him. It didn't take long when his brother tripped, and Suli didn't have enough time to slow down. He tripped right over his brother, rolling forward as well. He landed sitting up facing his brother and gave him a surprised look.
((Aww the colors are the same! XD))

((Funny thing is, me using Julia's color for Eiri was a total accident))
Tabor smiled, "Certainly." He started to shuffle the cards, looking at her as he did so, "What would you like to play?"
Eiri looked at his brother for a moment, then shook his head and stood up, some of the snow sticking to his fur. "You okay Suli?" he asked, a small chuckle coming out.

Julia thought for a moment. She didn't really have anything in mind. "Whatever you want to play, I'm up for anything I think."
Suli blinked and stood up with his brother. He nodded and then said, "Y..yeah, I'm fine. What happened?" He shook his head a little, and then realized that he was still it. He hurried over and tagged Eiri and then dashed away, not even sticking around for an explanation.

Tabor thought about it. Most of the games he knew required more than two people to really be fun. That ruled out some of the more competitive gambling ones. "Black Jack, Old Maid, or we could play a matching game." He suggested finally, generally just happy to get to play cards with Julia.
Eiriol started to explain that there must be something under the snow that he tripped on when he was tagged by his brother. "Hey," he laughed, amused that Suli had thought quicker than himself on that one. He quickly got up and started the chase.

"Hmm..." Julia thought. "I've never played Old Maid. You'd have to teach me. Are you up for that?" She smiled playfully.
Suli laughed as he ran and tried hard to focus on where he was going so that he wouldn't trip and fall like Eiri had. He ran a wide circle around Tabor and Julia and then darted straight ahead.

"Of course I'll teach you," Tay replied with a smile. He removed the ace of clubs from the cards then pulled out the ace of spades and showed it to her. "I'm going to deal out the cards. The point of the game is to get rid of them all but if you have this one it has no match so you lose if you have it." he picked the deck back up and removed all of the face cards and all of the twos to make the deck a bit smaller, then dealt himself 16 and Julia 17 cards.
Eiri chased after his brother best he could. He followed around the circle then kept going for a second when his brother went and dashed straight off. He paused then went running for him again.

She frowned a little bit. "So one of us looses automatically by having the ace of spades?" She held her cards and wondered which one of them had it. She waited for him to explain what to do next.
Suli had begun to get tired and was now out of breath. His sprint had made him tired and he needed to slow down now. He began to slow, glancing back and thinking that Eiri might catch him now.

Tabor half nodded, "Yes but the card can switch hands," he explained, "we each take turns taking one card randomly from the other's hand. Sometimes you'll draw a matching card, sometimes you'll draw the ace of spades. It's the one who's stuck with the ace at the end that loses."
Eiri watched his brother slow down and gave one last sprint forward tagging him before slowing himself and finally stopping a few feet ahead, also tired. Besides being tired though, he wore a big grin on his face. He had been having fun.

Julia grinned. "Oh alright, I get it." She was excited to play now, and wondered how the turns would go. "Why don't you go first to show me how the turn works?"
Suli grinned too and looked at his brother. He was panting, so he didn't say anything. The two of them had worn themselves out, and they had only been playing for a short time. But they were young, so no doubt their energy would return to them again. Suli chuckled softly, "I'll...I'll get you as...as soon as I...catch my breath," he panted.

Tabor nodded, "Okay hold up your cards so they're facing you and I can't see them. Then I'll pick one"
Eiriol sat down where he'd stopped and nodded, laughing slightly, "Whenever you're ready Suli."
((Hmm...The card game may work better is we establish hands...))
