(part two of the plot between mesa, nintendo, sunshine, pebble and psycho. please read part 1 in the neutral area)

Mesa clicked her beak. She didn't make eye contact with anyone, nor did she stop to chat. She flew with her struggling bundle down a long flight of stairs, into the station underground. No-one came here. It was cool and dark and desolate.

She hovered with her bundle to her nest, which was on a low cemente ledge sticking out from the wall underneath the tracks. It was empty, which was surprising for such a masterful theif.

She took a hold of Sunshine's leg hanging out of her bag so he couldn't fly away and opened the sack, smiling as she dragged him out. "Do you think you're life is worth a locket?" she asked as she gave his wing a sharp peck. She knew just where she could put her guest...right where she put all her other stolen goods.

The passeridae breathed a sigh of relief when he was released from the sack. It was a horrible experience being stuffed inside of it, and he knew that after the whole ordeal was over that he would probably be claustrophobic. At least, to some extent. How could you not be after being shoved into a bag and carried off to God knows where?

His eyes grew wide when Mesa spoke to him, and little Sunshine cried out in pain when she pecked at his wing. Boy, did she really have it out for him! What made it all worse was that he didn't even have any idea why he was being put through all of this. He hadn't done anything. Not really, except find that locket for Pebble..

But then it hit him. The locket! That was what she wanted! Although, why she hadn't just taken it instead of whisking him away was beyond him. It would have been a whole lot easier if she would have just taken the necklace. Less trouble for her. Then again, maybe she liked causing trouble. Mesa probably wouldn't have gone through all the hassle to kidnap him if he didn't, the chickadee figured. "Pebble will come for me. Just you wait, and then you'll regret ever doing this!"

She rolled her eyes, not at all able to comprehend what he was shouting at her, his chirps echoing off the concrete walls. She glared and grabbed both sides of his beak with her wing, clamping it shut.

"You just hush yourself, okay, hun?" she asked, akwardly hopping towards a telveision mounted on a metal frame attached to the wall. in its time, it probably reported the news to waiting train passangers. Now it was just a screen and an empty box. Well, almost empty. Mesa stored all her treasures inside it. The screen was a magic screen! Things inside could see out, but anything outside couldn't see in.

She hopped with her captive to the back of the television. There was a large knob in the back used at one point for adjusting the colour. She unscrewed it and pushed the passeridae into the hole. He plugged it halfway. "Fatty." she muttered as she began to push on him.

The next thing he knew, the thief was trying to push him into a hole in the tv. Screeching in objection, he tried to fight her, but failed when he finally was squeezed through to the other side of the tv. Once through the hole, he landed on the inside of the television with an oomph.

"Lemme out!"

The box was a prison. Scared, the little yellow passeridae made his way to the furthest corner of the tv and sat there while trying to make himself as small as possible. At least, in there, he would be able to get away from that horrible Mesa. Inside the thief's hiding place for him, only one thing came to Sunshine's mind. Pebble. He just prayed that she would get there soon. That way she could come and get him, give Mesa the locket, and everyone would be happy.

However, unfortunately for them, things were never that easy.

Mesa screwed the knob back on, sealing him inside. The tv had little slots in either side, so it was ventilated. And she had stolen more then enough food for him to survive. It was naturally moist in the underground and water accumulated on the inside of the old screen as condensation. She smirked.

"Sleep tight. We'll see what you mean to her."
she said as she hopped and fluttered back to her nest. She did hope the chickadee was worth something to Pebble.

After searching for her associate for hours, Pebble was about to give up for the night. She was exhausted, but flying around the entire city would do that to a pidge. The whisperer had searched everywhere. Every spot the two of them frequented, she checked around to see if he had been there. Nothing. No one had seen him.

But then she saw something that calmed all of her worries about finding him. Mesa's ransom note. Of course! She should have known that the thief would have him. It was just like her to do something like that: kidnap an innocent little bird all for some foolish little trinket. Well, she would get the locket. Pebble knew that for a fact. No necklace, reguardless of how beautiful it was, would ever be worth Sunshine's life.

With the sun setting in the sky, the cross-breed picked up the piece of jewelry and draped it around her neck. The locket dangled there and sparkled in the sunlight, clashing a bit with her plain blue shawl, but Pebble didn't care. When she was all set, she kicked off the ground, gave her wings a few good flaps and then took off the air to her destination.

It didn't take her long to find the old train station. In fact, she knew exactly where it was, having flown past it thousands of times on her way to Half Price's flock to help Psycho. The doctor. She couldn't help but think of him as she dipped down gracefully to land on the roof. What was he doing? Would he approve of her meeting Mesa like this? Pebble could only wonder as she took off the locket and laid it out in front of her. The thief would be there soon, and only time would tell if she made the right decision to trade the necklace for Sunshine's freedom.

Mesa flew down, smirking, like a giant bat. She landed across from Pebble. She didn't have Sunshine with her. "So you're not completly stupid." she said. "and you brought my trinket!" she laughed, eyeing what she thought as rightfully hers.

She hopped over, a tad bigger then Pebble. She glared down at her, but she had a cruel smirk. "You give me the necklace and I'll take you to your precious Passeridae." she said. "don't worry. He's not hurt. He's just really fat."
PostPosted: Sat Jan 24, 2009 12:09 pm

"My Sunshine is not fat," Pebble sneered as she tossed the thief the locket with a flick of her talon. "And here is your trinket." Glaring, the whisperer didn't take her eyes of Mesa - not even for a second. She knew fully well to keep an eye on her enemies at all times. If she didn't pay attention, one wrong move could prove to be hazardous.

"There. You have your stupid locket, now give me back my passeridae. No necklace is worth having him kept as a hostage..."

She smirked. She could use this to her advantage. The female had given it so willingly for her chickadee. "No...I think I want that shawl too. And the flower. If he's really worth it, maybe you can help me steal. Yes, I need a new assistant. You get me anything I want and I won't kill him." she smirked. She loved black mail!

"So, hybrid? What's he worth to you?" she laughed.
PostPosted: Sat Jan 24, 2009 12:18 pm

Pebble hissed when Mesa attempted to black mail her. It wasn't going to work. "All you wanted was the locket, and that's what I gave you. Now uphold to your end of the bargain, and give Sunshine back!" she snapped, irritable. There was no way she was going to steal and do the thief's dirty work for her.

"And I'm not giving you my shawl, or helping you or anything." As she said this, Pebble gave Mesa a definite nod. There was no way she was going to back down.

She smiled. "Then I guess you'll never see your little friend again. Its not like you'll ever find him. And even if you do, you can't get him out without my help." she chuckled. "So how about you just hand that pretty shawl over. It looks better on me anyway!" She fluffed herself and flared her wings, hissing back. "Or maybe you will make the smart choice and turn tail now. Yes, fly back to mommy!"
PostPosted: Sat Jan 24, 2009 12:25 pm

That was it! She had enough of Mesa and her greedy blackmail. The taunts didn't help much, either. Raising her wings and screeching, Pebble lunged for the thief and moved in to knock her down to the ground. "Shut up! Give him back!"

Mesa was sly and quick and tricky. She shot to the side as Pebble wizzed by. "OLE`!" she shouted, smirking. So that was it, then. She was going to have to fight dirty now and teach this girl a lesson. She hissed and took off, pecking at the girl's back with her beak.

When Mesa pecked at her back, the whisperer had to fight back the urge to cry out. Her beak was sharp, and she hadn't expected the thief to attack her from behind. It was a cheap trick. Whirling around, Pebble hit Mesa with a wing as she tried to peck at her again, hoping it would be enough to knock her to the ground.

Mesa was struck and she hissed as she was knocked away. She caught herself before impact and shot at the younger female again, this time going for her tail feathers. She clamped one in her beak and was trying to yank it out.
