Thread Basics
1) Please don't take it personally if I turn down an offer of RP. Your Soquili may not fit with the plot I'm working on, but that doesn't mean I have anything against you as an RPer. You lot are great writers. That's why I'm happy to be involved in this shop!
2) I am not a stickler for posting length. Sometimes a three-sentence answer is more poignant than five paragraphs of description. Just write whatever length you're comfortable with, and I'll do the same. <3
3) I love RPing my Soquili, but I don't insist on RPed breedings. I think it can be just as satisfying to breed a non-RPed pair with complex, crazy-cool backstory. I decide whether or not I'll want RP before breeding on a case-by-case basis.
4) That being said, please don't assume that RPing opposite-sex characters will result in love and baskets. If it does, then great! But I'm reluctant to make promises when I don't know exactly how a scene will play out. Pre-plotted backstories are different, since I know how they end and there aren't any surprises.
5) I completely understand if you want to drop an RP because of RL distractions or boredom with the thread. It happens to all of us. Please don't feel afraid to tell me if you want to abandon a scene!
6) If I owe you a reply to something and it looks like I've forgotten, then throw a PM at me and I'll get to it ASAP! I usually don't take more than a week to reply to any given RP unless something important has come up IRL. Hiatuses and busy periods are always noted in my signature.

Vartan is a very practical stallion, to the point that he might come off as a little impassive. He spends most of his time working out and hardly pays any attention to his looks at all, letting his mane and tail grow as they please. His whole life consists of training to fight Kalona. As a foal he learned the art of combat from his warrior uncle Zevach.
Vartan has almost no concept of tact, and his dry sense of humor and lack of respect for authority can make him come off as pretty abrasive. He can be a gruff, cranky guy, even if his heart is generally in the right place.
Carnivores disgust Vartan. Any meetings he has with meat-eating Soquili are likely to end in violence. He believes that if he confronts the practices that he loathes, it will show that his blood is not tainted by his Kalona grandmother Izusa. Little does he know that his bloodlust is the legacy of Izusa's madness rather than her race. He spends a lot of time trying to prove to himself that he has principles and isn't evil.
Vartan has estranged himself from the rest of his family; it's not a brave decision, but it's the only way he can think of to deal with his messed-up, demanding relatives that doesn't involve violence. I'm not opposed to more family RP, but they would have to specifically go and seek him out if they wanted to see him. He's currently trying to move on with his life.
At the moment Vartan is involved in a mildly dysfunctional relationship with the mare Galaxia. In some ways, she's good for him, since she believes that he isn't a monster, and that he has the strength to keep from following that path. In other ways, she's bad for him, since her influence hardly encourages him to be more gentle, agreeable, or sociable. They like to bicker and spar.
The one bright spot on Vartan's social horizon is his informal mentor relationship with the young stallion Jumanjii. They act a lot like quarrelsome brothers.

1) Vartan is struggling to define himself without the influence of his family, but he's not introspective by nature. Galaxia accepts his darkness. His family rejects it (and, to his mind, rejects him). I'd like for him to meet someone who'd try to understand the reason behind his urges, and help him truly begin to get a better grasp on them. A healer or herbalist would be ideal for this role.
2) I'd like for Vartan to find a close male friend. Someone sporty and physical like he is, with enough of a sense of humor to help him lighten up a little.

Bright Dusk can fly, but not as high as a Wind Soquili. He can heal, but not as well as a pure Unicorn. He's an Alicorn, and that means he's a jack of two trades and master of neither.
This does not bother Bright in the least.
As a child, Bright naively felt as though he could make his parents stay together if he were a "perfect" son, and conducted himself accordingly, building up a wall between himself and the world. Bright is the sort of stallion that greets everything life throws at him with a happy smile, no matter how hard he has to work to fake it. Flowery words and dramatic gestures cover up his true feelings. His politeness and positivity are used to win favor and keep others at a distance. Beneath this "perfect" facade lies a young stallion who is very conflicted about his place in life, and who has no idea what he's truly capable of. His manners stem from self-interest rather than true gallantry. He's an amoral thief and con-man.
Kawani tribesmen are the notable exception to Bright's policy of positivity. He bears a grudge against humans for having dared to saddle his father.
Bright has met his match in the rebellious mare Ronnie, who bears a similar grudge, and who's far more wild and open about her feelings than Bright could ever be. Together they're like a non-violent Bonnie and Clyde, and he wouldn't leave her for the world.

1) Does your Soquili have some kind of valuable treasure? Bright would love to try to take it off his hands... by whatever means necessary.
2) Does your Soquili have a human? I think it would be interesting for Bright to victimize a human and then have to face the Soquili that loves him or her.

// [ History ] Uzuri comes from a far-off land where the days are warmer, the predators are larger, and the humans have much darker skin. The herd of her birth was large and matriarchal. As the second daughter of the herd's High Priestess, Uzuri was accorded a great deal of respect growing up, and she learned the ways of the savannah and its Spirits at her mother's knee.
Once Uzuri grew to adulthood, she asked the herd's Elders for permission to go abroad and learn the ways of the world, so that she could bring new knowledge back to the tribe. The Elders gladly agreed. Uzuri's older sister was the heir apparent to the role of High Priestess, and there could be conflict within the ranks if Uzuri ever surpassed her. No one wanted that to happen; least of all Uzuri herself. She loves her sister and her homeland very much.
Now Uzuri travels the world acting as a diplomat and explorer. It is a very genteel sort of exile.
At the moment, Uzuri feels tainted due to the effects of the Masquerade Curse, and is searching for a way to get back to her ordinary self. On the way she ran into more than she bargained for. Uzuri is usually careful to keep her flings divorced from her emotions, but when she meets the African Angeni Set, her homesickness and distress get the better of her, and she fell into a messy not-quite-love affair with the manipulative male. This tryst resulted in two baskets.
Uzuri is determined to love her children, and isn't particularly bitter towards Set for leaving her. Such actions are to be expected from males. She blames herself for the pregnancy, because she got caught up in the heat of the moment and forgot to take herbs for protection.
Uzuri is extremely protective of her children; perhaps overprotective, when push comes to shove.

Uzuri is confident, perceptive, educated, and poised. She's kind to those in need, but she will not tolerate disrespect towards herself, her Spirits, or her homeland. At times she can be prissy and overserious. She has little time for pranksters or the childish-at-heart.
Since Uzuri's ways are foreign, and she's always traveling, she can find it hard to connect to other Soquili on a personal level. Hopefully time will help her to unbend a little and make herself more at home in the Kawani lands.

1) I would love for Uzuri to meet other Soquili from the Masquerade. She needs to compare notes with other victims of the enchantment! It could be fun to establish some backstory between her and other partygoers.
2) Do you have someone who could help Uzuri cleanse herself from the taint of dark magic? Healers and wise Soquili are very welcome.
3) Uzuri could use some support in helping to raise her foals! Any takers? Taken by Sil's Clara and Samus' Thoth.

Idris is not a player. He's oblivious to his own considerable good looks. Evil mares are completely out of the question for him.

Idris is the product of an affair between the Kenyan Priestess Uzuri and the Egytian Angeni Set. His mother rarely speaks ill of his father; indeed, she rarely speaks of him at all. Idris knows very little about Set aside from his name and his place of birth.
Uzuri brought up her son with good manners, a quality education, and a strong sense of duty. Since she is a diplomat, she spent a good deal of time dragging her sons around to visit various elders and dignitaries. The result was a precocious colt who was far more cosmopolitan than most youngsters, but who knew a lot more about impressing adults than he did about interacting with his own peers.
As an adult, Idris has become become a full-time scholar and artifact hunter. Think of him as a much dweebier Indiana Jones.

As a colt Idris was a nerdy, neurotic, know-it-all little mama's boy. As an adult, he's braver and more independant, but that same dorky babbler can still be found beneath all the cool bling and sexy hair. Idris is the ultimate stealth dweeb.
Idris isn't fussed by the fact that his brother inherited Angeni wings while he did not. He is happy to keep his hooves firmly on the ground. If another Soquili were to confront Idris about missing out on the genetic lottery, he'd simply shrug his shoulders and wander off; he's totally secure about himself and his racial background. It helps that he and his winged brother Asar are very close.
Idris is a an academic and explorer, not a fighter.

1) IDRIS NEEDS AN ADVENTURE. More specifically, Idris needs to travel to Egypt as a young adult, and earn his flashy accessories. I'm looking for a travelling companion who won't mind doing a little pyramid-raiding and mingling with the local two-leggers.

Okay, firstly - if you're still up for it I'll be starting the RP between Bright/Kiyoshi as soon as my muses aren't being whiney little bitches with me. If you're not no worries, just throwing that out there.
SECONDLY! *Drum roll*
I have a few healers that might be able to help, however the one that would be able to help without being potentially annoying for Vartan would be Azzinoth. If Azzinoth detects unrest within Vartan he'd be able to provide more concise answers as opposed to the giggling Sparks or the unassuming Far. He also has knowledge of herbs and carries mostly foreign substances (he's oriental) as he's currently in the process of helping his great-nephew over his trauma.
xD I'd offer up more 'wise' soquili in the form of Yei or Cyn Generis as one's an elder and the other is the Angeni of Time but I don't want to swamp you. *Giggles*

Yay! Epee plots!
1) I would love Bright and Kiyoshi RP! I'm quite curious to see Kiyoshi's opinion of what he's wrought.. though I don't think he could have brought anything out of Bright that wasn't lurking there in the first place. ;')
Would it still take place in the context of the conflict with Penance? Or later when Kiyoshi has mellowed out? Since you're already RPing Kiyoshi and Anemone "redemption" stuff now, I'm not really sure where your personal timeline is at. XD
2) I suppose Azzinoth would be best! Vartan likes concise. And he'd just walk away from a giggly pony, since he'd feel that he wasn't being taken seriously.
The thing with Vartan is that I don't want to 100% cure him, since I think that would make him less fun for me to play. What I do want is for him to mature and retake control of his own life.
3) Haha. Maybe we can get into some 'Zuri later, once we're done with the Bright and Vartan stuff?
... soooo... who starts what? I could get going on the Vartan thread, and you could do something up for Kiyoshi once your muses return.

In terms of Timelines for the Triad I actually have three seperate lines running at once (i'm not sane) - Bright's plot would still be during the conflict with Penance. Those RPs are timewarped backwards to be done when everyone has time/muses etc for them.
Anemone/Kiyoshi occurs after the Penny plot itself - then Azzinoth shows up during THIS plot and arrives in the Kawani soon after to help Esper out. I'll start up the Kiyoshi one ASAP.
If you could start up the Azzinoth one that would be great, he's a wanderer so he'll appear anywhere for the most part. I think in terms of timeline I'd like it to be before he finds Esper and takes him with him to Japan. So he can help Vartan before he departs (kinda like his intro to the Kawani) and when he returns Esper to his parents again he can maybe meet up with Vartan again and see how he's doing. A doctor/Patient esque relationship would be something I'd like to study a bit more. When it comes to mental issues Azzinoth knows you can't fix those completely (it's an internal battle) but he'd do his best to guide him and present him with herbs that would ease his suffering etc...
