 Alex sat silently, his blue eyes focused on the yellow police tape draped over his body -- a reminder of the last time he had to defend someone that he cared about. He had gone overboard, as usual; it seemed like he was never able to stop himself in situations like that.

Strolling through the room was a small Audio with fur the colour of blood. He was small in stature, but far more menacing than anyone bigger than him could be. Twirling a small dagger, he paused in his stride at the sight of the other sitting in the room. A slow grin crossed his face. "Why, hello."

We're using the same font color. XD I guess that makes sense, though.
Pulled away from his thoughts by the sound of footsteps and the other Audio's voice, Alex glanced up, his blue eyes finally looking away from the police tape. "Hello," he replied. One eyebrow went up slightly. Who was he?

Cain had been looking for Leto, actually. His ocean blue eyes were glinting in that way, the way that was always a warning for something bad to follow.
His dagger spun faster, catching the light with a glint. "In a bit of a mess there?"

I know. I was just making an observation. 3nodding
Alex wasn't sure who this Audio was, but he didn't like the glint in his eyes, or the way the dagger's tempo was picking up as it spun in his hand.
"A mess?" he asked, looking down at his arms and legs. The blood was fairly obvious against his light brown fur. He chuckled, replying, "Yeah, I guess I did make a bit of a mess. I couldn't seem to stop myself, but I'm usually not this bloody when I'm done."

Cain flicked his own blood stained tail. "Oh? That so?" The dagger stopped all of a sudden, he switched hands, and spun it around again.

"Yeah," he replied. Alex watched the dagger curiously as it was switched from one hand to the other. He wasn't looking for trouble, but he couldn't be sure that this other Audio felt the same. "What's our name?" he asked.

"Heh." Cain watched as the other stared at his dagger, his smirk becoming more and more apparent. This guy didn't know who he was. Perfect.
"Cain. My name is Cain."

"Cain, huh?" he asked. One eyebrow rose as he watched the smirk on the others face. It gave him a bad feeling...
"I'm Alex," he introduced himself. "New guy here. I had to move again after my last... incident. I was dragged here without even getting a chance to wash off that idiot's blood." It was Alex's turn to smirk this time.

"I'm curious, Alex, what is it that you did to this idiot and what did he do to you?" Cain asked, tapping the tip of the dagger on his chin in a mock thoughtful way. "Just because I'm... curious." Cain was curious all right, curious as to what this new guy could do. He could use a good fight. Leto never fought back. It was almost sad.

"Well, I don't really remember exactly what I did to him. My temper took over, and the next thing I remember, he was dead and I was covered in his blood. And I'd rather not go into what he did," Alex explained. He wasn't sure why any of this was important to Cain, and it was making him slighlty suspicious. He'd already caused his loved ones more than enough embarrasment, so he wasn't looking for any trouble -- especially not when he'd just moved somewhere new to get away from his past.

"Hmm." Cain looked thoughtful for a moment, before moving closer to Alex, still tapping the dagger as he looked down at him. "So he pissed you off, you blacked out and killed him?" He was disappointed. He was looking for a real fighter. Not some little s**t that blacked out once in a while because he was a little mad. Blacking out was cowardly.

"He did more than just piss me off," Alex replied, his blue eyes growing colder. "If all he'd done was piss me off, I wouldn't have blacked out. But he went beyond just making me a little mad." Something about the way Cain looked at him seemed almost condescending, and he didn't like it. He focused on trying to keep calm, refusing to cause any more problems for his family and loved ones.
