 Istas had recently told Amitola of her liking of mares. She thought she had gotten over whatever it was she had for that foal friend of hers... She had almost forgotten about it... But Misti had brought that feeling back... Making her feel nervous and she stumbled over her words... She looked forward to seeing her. But it was only fair that Claude knew, as one of her best friends. She bounced her way down the path to Claude's home. She always thought she might have had a crush on Claude, but know having this feeling with Misti, she knew that it wasn't the same thing... It was nice to know; in its own way. Claude had a good head on his shoulders and would make someone a very good mate. But she wasn't meant to have a stallion, Istas was meant to have a mare as her mate.
Misti just had to be the one, the way she walked talked and just moved... It made Istas dizzy... Her large golden wings... "UGH!" She start a trott wanting to spill her guts to Claude now about all of this!

Claude lazily grazed outside his teepee while his two legger, Nenharma, smoked some meats to save for the remainder for the remainder of the winter. Earlier that day she'd noticed a small herd of buffalo meandering through the lands at the base of the mountain. She took down the three sickest by herself and made dozens of trips up the mountin side after butchering the meat at the base. Even now, as she smoked the last of it, she was still caked with dried blood up to her elbows and all over her shoulders and chest. Of course, his mother went mad when she saw the blood at first. But when she began to clean the wounds she noticed a lacking of them. Claude still chuckled as he remembered his mtoher reaction to the foriegn blood.
"You have a visiter, Good Sir," Nenharma whispered in his ear as he grazed closer to her. He shifted his gaze from the meat to Istas. He raised his head and smiled at her. Nenharma patted his side, giving him permission to leave her side. Claude was Nenharma's steed. A knightly horse for a warrior lady. The usdias was Saki's, and the newly found Suichii was Vallor's horse, if only for Suichii's own amusement.
I digress.
Claude trotted over to Istas and gave her a warm nuzzle. "What brings you out here, my lady," he asked stepping back. "I mean, it is a pleasure, but wasn't the journey strenuous?" He circled her, looking for any signs of a limp, scrape, cut, or bruise.

Oh, that was right... Istas had only made the trip once, a long time ago with Claude to his home. She had never actually made the trip herself. Across the driver and up the mountain. I guess it would stick out that it had to be something important...She kind of wish she had waited for one of their usual gatherings... She blinked over at his two legger covered in blood, and she quickly looked away, giving him a nuzzle back.
When he started to circle to circle her, she lowered her head some. she knew saying something would be pointless, he was just watching out for her. "Well of course it was! Jeeze..." She laughed and when he came back around, she leaned up to lip at his ear. What if he didn't support her? It would utterly break her heart to loose him... She survived on their adventures; keeping her mind off her family stuff. In their adventures she was able to fly!.. coincidently, both her best friends had wings...
Taking in a breath, she needed decided right then and their if she was willing to gamble her friendship... She hadn't even thought of the consequences, hat he might not accept it... running to tell her friends of the new love in her life... She looked down, and then nestled her face into his mane. "I need to talk to you..."

Nenharma smiled softly at the mare and rolled an apple over to her, not coming close, for fear of frightening her with her blood stained appearence. It was noticable the change in her personality from when Claude had first come into thier home. She was warm, yes, if you knew what to look for. But now that Claude had become her steed she seemed so much happier. She did love Scarlet and Sweet, and she did love Vallor and Saki. but the bond between Claude and Nenharma was stronger than that. It was deeper too. It as something Claude would never be able to describe. It was the bond between a rider and her steed. And that was indeed nothing less than magical.
Pulling himself back to reality Claude nudged her slightly and asked in a low and dangerous voice, "has someone hurt you?" He knew it was something of dire importence, else she would not be here. Normally any news waited until they met up in the valley. He looked her over again, this time without his circling. He was looking for any signs of foul play. If anyone had harmed a hair on her body he would be sure to make them pay.

Istas flicked her long tail glancing over at him. She knew that if anything wrong had happened to her, that Claude would be the one she went too... But this was something in the other direction. "No Claude... it's anything like that. It's quite the opposite really." She leaned down; chasing the apple that the two legger rolled over, and she twitched her ears forward at her, as if to say thank you as she bit into the apple. She didn't realize how hungry that trip had made her until she tasted the sweet apple.
"Claude... I'm in love." She had finished off the apple and when she said it, she as nuzzled her face back into his mane. She would ease him into it... Amitola had already sensed it; and he was thrilled and all knowing. But Claude, she spent so much time traveling with hin... In this area she had no idea how he would react to it.

Claude, needless to say, was a bit shocked. Actually he was really shocked. He honestly had no idea how to react to what he'd just hurt. There was some sense of smugness in the back of his mind, but mostly words whirled in his head. Some were angry, some were sad, some were even a bit malicious. He looked away for a moment and chuckled. He shook out his mane and gently trotted in place. And this all in the name of keeping calm. Finally he looked back and cleared his throat.
"My love... I do belive that... you should... persue some other avenue... I'm sure there are others dreaming of your enchanting affections." God, could he hav emade that sound anymore dreamy? I mean, granted, he was a very good looking stallion. And yes, he was quite good with words. But why would she ever fall for him? He always thought that they were just siblings. Never would he ever take her as a mate. Not that he didn't love her, becasue he did. Just not in that sense.
Words finally fell into place. "My love, I am I knight. My job is to be put in peril. I can't have you back at home fretting about me. And you would be home, becasue I can't focus on the task, if my judgment is clouded by you and my concern for you. I love you, just as my partner. My sister. I could not take you as my mate. I'm terribly sorry..."

Istas took a step back when he started to trot in place. Her ears twitched some and her head tilted. He must not have understood... She laughed a little bit, when he spoke, her auburn eyes looking up at him when he addressed her and she suddenly flet a little but of a blush creep onto her cheeks. Oh goodness, he had miss understand her... She felt the same for him. He would make a wonderful mate, but that feeling just wasn't there for him... Her long tail give a flick before she moved her way under his head and she nibbled at his cheek some...
"Claude... I didn't mean you..." She smiled some up at him, she hopped not to embarrass him to much with that. "I... Well... You see, Well I'm not trying to say you wouldn't make a wonderful mate... I just don't feel that toward you. " She stumbled over her words a little, she didn't want to hurt his feelings or anything. "I've fallen for.... a mare." She averted her eyes keeping close to his front, wondering how he would now react to this.
She wasn't even all that sure how Misti felt... But she was sure that there was some kind of affection... they went a couple dates already... She she's asked to see her again. So there was -something- but Istas was sure for her, this was is.

CLAUDE
Claude could say that he wasn't relieved, but that would have been a lie. He let out a huge breath and dropped his head a little. "Oh, well, that's wonderful. Or else things may have gotten fairly awkward very quickly." He regained his composure and asked, "so, who's the lucky stallion?"
ISTAS MISAE:
Istas blinked at him. It would have gotten awkward? She never really thought to much about that. But maybe he was right if thats the route that was to be taken; but it wasn't. "Lucky stallion? He doesn't seem to lucky when you make it sound like; if I had loved you; it was the end of the word..." She sighed some. Maybe she was cursed or something. Maybe that was an omen that this wouldn't work
out. "Her name is Misti." She glanced over at him and smiled a little.
CLAUDE:
Claude was taken aback for a moment. "Istas, what I meant was that it would be like mating to Sweetpea. Awkward only becasue you're family to me. I love you with my whole being just as I love Scarlet." He nuzzled her reassuringly. "I had no intentions of hurting you, and I apologize."
He smiled at the mares name. "I must say, I've not actually had any expierience with that type of...
relationship." He thought a momentm and went on. "But, if you have fallen in love, then it must be a lovley thing."
ISTAS MISAE:
She smiled at hm a little, her ears giving a twitch and she sighed. "Yeah yeah..." She returned the nuzzle and then blinked at him. That was right; not alot of others would have any kind of experince with this.. She blinked thinking.. "Oh, well thank you... I hope it all goes well. It feels too good to be true." She blushed a little bit. Easily seen with her lighter coloring.
CLAUDE:
Claude had to smile back. "You know I'll love you no matter what, Istas. And you know I'll be beside you 100%, no matter what. Darling, you could fall in love with a skinwalker, and while I'd say that's not the best idea, I'd try not to get in the way." He stood back and nickered a small farewell to Nen, who waved. "Walked with me, darling, and tell me about her."
ISTAS MISAE:
She laughed at him some, as she moved to walk with him. "A skinwalker eh?" Se gaves him a little as if she was considering it. "Ahh.. Well Misti.. I don't really even know how to start.." She was suddenly overwhlemed with things she wanted to tell him. "She's smart, jsut so intellegant, and kind... Its like each step she takes Her surroundings just flourish." She sighed in an affectionate manor.
CLAUDE:
Claude smiled knowingly. "Sounds like you're in love. And she sounds lovley." He chuckled a little. "I'm very glad you found someone that can make you happy..." he stopped the question on the tip of his tongue.
ISTAS MISAE
She smiled at him and nodded a little bit. "Its a weird feeling... I've never really felt this bfore, but as much as i get nervous around her.. I feel so safe... She has these huge lovely wings.. and butterflies love her!" She giggled some and nudges him lightly.

CLAUDE:
Claude chuckled and said, "Then my mother will have no issues getting alone with her." He sighed and watched Istas for a long time. "What if she wants children? I'm not insighting doubt, I just don't want you to freak out of she does."
ISTAS MISAE:
She blinked up at him and tilted her head some. "I don't know why she would. I mean she runs a day care... Why would she want to go home and be around foals.." She laughed some and lookedover at him as she then moved her eyes up to the sky. "And.. I think adoption would be to tough for her, with all the disappointments... You know? Parents changing their minds and wanting to keep the baskets."
CLAUDE:
Claude nodded thoughtfully. "Well, just don't lose your mind if it turns out that she wants some. I don't want you to miss out on something that might be good for you."

Istas shook her head and laughed. A family, her? Never. Should would never fall prey to such a thing. And surely Misti wouldn't either. But it had panted in her mind, her love did love foals... She shook her head and pranced around for a moment. She was so happy to have finally shared her news with both her friends; everything seemed right in the world! She knew Claude wouldn't lie or hid how he really felt from her, so she was happy knowing that he really did accept her and this. "Claude, have you fond a mare yet?" He never much talked about seeing mares; and all this made her wonder a little. Was he interested in mares, and if so... He was a choose specimen if she did say so herself. there was no reason he couldn't find someone.

Claude looked up idly from his grazing. He sighed and said, "darling, how can I be vaugly interested in the more feminine sex when I have civilizations to save, soquili to rescue, manters to defeat, and a whole lot of running to do? There's no time for such things." He chuckled a little and winked. "But when I do you shall be the first to know.
ISTAS MISAE:
Istas looked over at him and she shook her head some. "Oi.." She laughed as she did and looked looked up at the sky. She didn't really want him to find a mare. She knew how females could be... The female might not let Istas be firends with him anymore. The idea at all of him with another female but her started to make her blood boil.
CLAUDE:
"What," Claude asked as he lifted his head. "I'm serious. Between keeping you out of trouble, trying to find you a surragate father, and trying to save others all at once. I don't have time for a mate." He chuckled and went back to his sweetgrass.
ISTAS MISAE:
She eyed him, and looked back to the sky... "Wait.. A WHAT!? I haven't even deicded if i was GOING to have the foals....: She looked at him with a gawking kindof look. She shookj her head, her bell sounding.. "I can't beleive you..."
CLAUDE:
Claude shrugged. "You will. You're too much like my mother not to want them." He smiled and gently licked her cheek.
ISTAS MISAE:
She blinked at him and shied away when he licked her cheek... "Your... mother..." She sighed some and looked down. "I never saw myself running around looking for foals." She mumbled at him. it was almost a blow hearing him say that. She had never wanted foals until Misti came along.
CLAUDE:
Claude sighed softly. "You make it sound like a bad thing. And that's not what I meant. I mean you want so much to make others happy to not want foals for Misti. But it was wrong og me to go behidn your back like that. I'm sorry." He bowed a little and looked up at her softly. "And I beg your pardon."
ISTAS MISAE:
She snuffed at him, but it didn't long for her to pretty much forget what kust happened. She walked around him and soon standing next to him rested her head on his neck.. "When will we go on another adventure?"
CLAUDE:
Claude flicked his ears back and sighed. "I don't really know. When Sweet gets back from his, I suppose. We can't leave my mother alone," he said quietly while he looked up to his mother, who was currently chasing a number of butterflies. "But I am growing chafed by our stay in one place, I agree..."
ISTAS MISAE:
She glanced over at his mother too and she tilted her head some before she pulled off him and she walked a few steps away. She knew it; she probably shouldn't have asked. Missed the times they had spent together like that. Ah well.. they were getting older. Maybe it was time for then to start to grow up? "Mm... I should probably get going so I can meet Misti when she gets out of work..."
CLAUDE:
Claude licked her cheek again and smiled. "You two seem perfect for each other. When can I meet her," he asked as he cockedhis head to the side.
ISTAS MISAE:
She glanced at him and thought. "I don't know, whenenver you want, I guess?" She tilted her head some. She had never though of that... Having them meet. It was almsot like she didn't want him to meet her becasue she wasn't to sure if it would work out
CLAUDE:
"Whenever you're ready," he said softly. "I'll be ready. I'm really happy you found her, my dear," he smiled.
ISTAS MISAE:
She smiled at him, looking around again. "Ah.. maybe you're right." She nodded some and then headed toward the path. "See you soon~"
