Berlios stood outside and took a deep long breath of fresh, albeit chilled, air. He could not remember the last time he had been outside. He was usually found indoors looking after the kits, but since Nefir was doing his own kit-sitting, there was nothing else for Berlios to do except sit there and sigh.
It wasn't his fault he didn't have the playful demeanor of most of the namrah in his group. It didn't mean he was boring; he would just rather watch all of the play instead of actively participating. Every sport had spectators; why weren't they picked on?
It didn't matter, he supposed. What mattered now was that he had free time to spare, the first in a long time, and he was going to make sure he enjoyed it.

Kaycee was fast asleep in a small patch of grass, as she usually was. However, unlike most namir or pokemir, her mind was very aware, even during her sleep. She could feel what was going on around her and communicate with others just fine while sleeping.
She sensed the presence of another teen not far away, and since she had been napping for awhile, decided to wake up and have a peek around. She hovered over to the teen and smiled playfully. "Hi!" ^^

Berlios blinked as a namir came from nowhere and hovered in front of him. He couldn't help but look at the spaces above and below her, as though looking for strings or some sort of clear pedestal. Seeing nothing, he focused on the namir and cheerily smiled back. "Hello! Did you know you're floating around? That's really cool." ^^ He coughed suddenly and held out a paw, stertching a bit to reach her. "How rude of me; my name is Berlios."

She giggled softly as he looked around, seeming a bit confused. She landed softly on the ground in front of him, so that he wouldn't have to stretch his paw so far, and shook it politely. "Hi Berlios," she replied. "I'm Kaycee."

Grinning in amazement, Berlios nodded and smiled. "Pleased to meet you." He cleared his throat before continuing. "So....that was a pretty neat trick. Are you one of those pokemir?" He asked out of curiousity, but as he did, he couldn't help but remember a time when he had been once more called for kit-sitting duty, and seeing the little black and orange pokemir egg......he remembered exclaiming, "He ahs colors like me! He could be my little brother!"
But he should have known that he would grow, just like all the others, and he would once again be left behind. It had always been that way. But now it was nice to meet someone who like him would stay young forever. He wondered if and when they got better acquainted he might ask her about her opinions of staying this way indefinitely.

She smiled back and answered, "And you as well. Thank you, it's not a trick really...it comes naturally." She paused for a second and then continued, "I am a pokemir. An Abra to be exact. What are you?" She tilted her head to the side and looked at him curiously, as he seemed to be in thought about something important, but she did not know what it was.

"I'm a......" Berlios stuttered, "I'm.....just a regular namir. But I don't age like most of the others do; I stay young like this forever." He chuckled drily. "It's sort of funny; I've been this way for so long and have picked up more knowledge than most of the others in my group, and they're all older than me." He chewed his bottom lip before continuing. "It's sad sometimes, never having anyone your own age to talk to for very long...." He shook his head a little and brightened up. "But I'm probably bringing the mood down with such talk. So, where are you from and what do you like doing?"

She sat and tilted her head as she listened, nodding her head every now and then. Then she floated up off the ground again about a foot and spoke. "So you don't age hm? I've heard of that before. Yeah...like vampires. They don't age." Then she remembered something, and it made her giggle. "Oops! I'm like that too! I don't age either. And I'm certainly not a vampire." She grinned sheepishly and then answered his question. "I like to sleep...and I'm from...around." She smiled a silly grin with her eyes closed, which then turned into a yawn. She floated back down to the ground and curled up and then fell asleep right there without another word.

Berlios shook his head, then blinked and let out a short laugh. "I'm no vampire though! But I am glad to finally meet someone who doesn't age, like me, and who doesn't mind talking to me!" The only other permateen in his group, Peter, barely spoke to anyone; he was far too shy. Berlios had been as kind to him as he could, and for a while it seemed to work, but Peter never seemed to talk very much.
"Sleep huh?" He smiled, then his mouth fell open as Kaycee fell asleep right in front of him. "Wow, she wasn't kidding......" He tentatively reached out a paw and prodded her. Getting no response, he shrugged slightly and laid down beside her, waiting for her to wake up. "At least she told me she liked to sleep before she WENT to sleep, or else I would have thought I was the one who put her to sleep...." XD

Kaycee felt him nudge her, but didn't respond immediately.
She rolled over on her back and yawned again, still asleep, and then let out a small giggle. She knew he was laying next to her, but she didn't open her eyes. She had fallen asleep in front of friends before, but they had pounced on her to wake her up.
"Oops...I fell asleep again..." she said in her sleep. She was a sleep talker, and was capable of holding conversations while sleeping. She didn't actually talk out loud, it was more as if her thoughts were projected into the other namir's mind. Though she could talk out loud, as she did now. She rolled over onto her side again, still sleeping peacefully.

Berlios perked suddenly at Kaycee's words, wondering if she was now really awake or just talking in her sleep. He knew a few namrah in his group did that; said silly things or just spoke out loud as though they were awake.
Still unsure, Berlios decided to go ahead and speak, just in case. "Yeah, you fell asleep. Umm.....do you do that often? Maybe you ought to get more sleep at night."

She let out a small giggle. Her eyes remained closed and she remained asleep. This time she did not speak her words out loud, but projected them into his mind.
"I do sleep at night! And yes...I do fall asleep often. You can wake me if it bothers you, I don't mind. But as long as we are just conversing, it's okay, right?"

Berlios was about to reply when it struck him that though he had heard words, they had lacked a VOICE to go with them. His eyes nearly popped out of his head at this realization, and he looked down at Kaycee's sleeping form. "You......you're talking. In my head. Is that one of your abilites? It's neat.....you can't see anything that's in my head, can you?" oO

She giggled and nodded her head slowly.
"Mhm...it's an ability called Sleep talk." She couldn't see anything that was inside his mind, but now she was curious, and thought it might be fun to mess with him a little bit.
"I might..." she giggled, "you better be careful what you're thinking."

Squeezing his eyes shut, Berlios put his paws over his ears, as though that would help, and tried really hard not to think of anything. But he soon realized that the more you try to quiet your mind, the noisier it gets, and soon he felt as though he was in the middle of a crowded room with a bunch of voices droning on around him.
Finally, he gave up and straightened up, grinning at Kaycee. "Did you get any of that? 'Cause I didn't." XD
