Amadi & Itzal Interactions
Here we shall have some self-roleplay (gee that doesn't sound dirty at all) about Amadi and Itzal, and their various interactions. Now I have to work on Amadi buying Itzal a familiar. I wrote some as you can see, but I'm lazy. I'll finish it later.
Itzal's Hatching"You look
so cool!" Amadi laughed, staring at the large newborn, surrounded by shards of the egg it had just hatched out of. He began to step forward, heavy boots crunching on the shards, apparently forgetting of his plan to save as many pieces as he could.
"Black! Such an awesome color for a dragon.. You need a name that matches!" he continued, now reaching the dragon. He kneeled to further inspect hatchling, heart pounding with excitement.
However, the dragon's heart was pounding for the completely opposite reason. It was terrified. This strange and loud being was far too close, prodded, pulled, and.. The dragon didn't like it at all, but was too afraid to do anything other than stay completely still and hope the strange creature would lose interest and leave.
"I bet your wings are gonna look awesome too, and.. Oh, your tail!" Amadi reached for the dragons tail, noticing the pattern of red and blue scales on it. "Matches your egg! Um, matched, anyway.."
The dragon suddenly whipped its tail out of Amadi's hands and hit him square on the chest, knocking the boy over. It scuttled a few feet away then turned to hiss, now even more scared.
Shocked by the dragon's sudden move, Amadi sat up, wincing. He was more embarrassed than hurt though, managing to mutter "stupid lizard" before getting to his feet.
"That's the way you're gonna be, huh?" he growled, walking over to the dragon, who only cowered and hissed again. "Try that again, I dare ya!" Amadi kicked the baby dragon, who, instead of reacting in pain and fear like Amadi thought, bit him. Hard.
It was Amadi who reacted in fear and pain now, yelping as the dragon pulled him down by the leg and tackled him. The two then started to fight, the surprisingly strong baby pinning Amadi beneath him. The boy could only flail, punch, and try to protect himself as the dragon scratched and bit.
Finally, Amadi was able to push the dragon off of him and roll away, dramatically jumping up and staring at the enraged dragon. The two stood their ground again, staring at each other and seething, before the dragon charged.
Amadi dodged it easily, but the dragon lashed its tail out and sent him bowling over. The boy landed back hard on his elbows and gasped, eyes tearing up. Swearing, he rolled and got up again, wary of the aggressive baby.
The no longer terrified dragon stared at the human, daring him to make the next move. It fully expected to attack again and let out a warning growl that would have sounded cute in different circumstances.
Amadi, hearing the growl and feeling beat up enough as it was, rolled his eyes. "Holy crap, Dragon, calm down,"
An awkward silence ensued. Boy and dragon stared at each other. Abruptly, Amadi sat, the dragon flinching and hissing as the sudden move.
"I'm gonna name you Itzal. I think you're a guy dragon, you're plenty tough like one anyway, but I'm not gonna go over there to check," he stated, chuckling slightly. He felt completely embarrassed at being beat up by this baby he considered a pet, but Amadi knew for once when he was defeated.
The dragon, now dubbed Itzal, sensed the boy's good humor and relaxed a bit. Amadi just stared at Itzal, wishing it wouldn't be so tense. Did all guardians have this much trouble?
"Hey, c'mon, Itzal. I'm not gonna hurt you anymore. Promise."
The human's calm words eased Itzal, and the dragon began to cautiously step towards him.
"Good boy! I bet you're hungry. I'll get you something to eat..
a knuckle sandwich!" Amadi suddenly lunged at the dragon, catching it completely off guard.
Itzal thrashed as the human scooped it up in its grip and.. did nothing.
Amadi was giving Itzal a hug. Itzal didn't understand this was a hug at the time, but stopped thrashing. It was actually somewhat pleasant.. Warm, anyway.
Amadi laughed. "Hurt me all you want, I'll still love you, Itzal."
"...."
"Just no biting. That really hurts."
A Familiar for ItzalThe marketplace was filled with so many smells and sounds mixing together. People talking, bargaining, haggling, merchants showing off their wares, the sun shining high above the stands..
Amadi paid no mind to any of this. He was a man on a mission. Close behind was Itzal, now much bigger. The two strolled through the marketplace, passing by other customers and dragons. Amadi spoke to his dragon.
"I've been saving up for a while, Itz, and I think you're responsible enough for a familiar of your own now. But then, what do I know about responsibility?" he laughed, looking over his shoulder to Itzal.
Itzal looked Amadi in the eye, his own blue eyes sparkling with amusement. He wasn't very expressive and didn't make much noise, but when Itzal looked Amadi in the eye like that, he knew what his dragon felt.
