I love oboes, but in the end bassoon is my favorite. By far.

Because I get this image in my head everytime someone mentions bassoons of my friend when she put one of those plastic glove things on the top of it and blew it up like a balloon XD

I'm all the way for oboe. I play the oboe i started with flute but then I heard an oboe at my band camp, I fell in love. I convinced my teacher to switch this year I've heard bassoons but i still think oboe is better...

BASSON is awsome but my band needed more lowbrass so i got switched to trombone crying which is good but i still prefer basson

I play the oboe in band and i am switching to bassoon. I play bassoon too... I just can't play it in band until i get caught up with the rest of the band.
So anyways...i would pefer the bassoon over the oboe because it is too high DX The high notes give me headaches. DX The bassoon is so awesome.

al thougt they are both doubble reed instruments the oboe plays in trble cleft and basson in bass cleft. so depending on the range you play in

I definitly like both, but i like oboe more because bassoon has tooo many thumb keys and its way to big to handel.
