Anyways, I've had her for about 5 days now. Monkey Tail Skinks are herbivores, so it's easy and fun to feed them. They're pretty scarce around here and everywhere else except the Solomon Islands, whom cut off exports.
They're the only Skink with a prehensile tail. I'm sure a few Monitors have them, and Geckos do too but it's a given for them.
Anyways, here are the pics. The crappy lighting from camera phone doesn't bring out her features very well. She's nearly all green with a neat mossy pattern on the top of her head with flecks of black and gray everywhere else. Probably a symbol of her true breed and 1,000 dollars. redface

Took a Water Monitor, the inadequate room to house it, and my giddiness for me to realize how bad I wanted her. Despite their arboreal nature and mild diet, they have some serious teeth on them. Her's are like tiny rows of razors. My hand was okay with being bit by my baby Water Monitor, but not by her. Bites by these will probably require stitches.
But yeah, Monkey Tail Skinks are something to do research on. They only give birth to one baby per brood, and take care of it like a member of the family [a rare trait amongst reptiles].
