Celandine walked along the shoreline, staring wistfully out at the orange-tinted water, searching in vain for any break in the pattern of miniscule dashes, any sign of a head bobbing out there, looking back at him; a head with ears like fins and eyes of shining blue.
He could still remember her, when he had first seen her. Amadahy was like nothing he had ever seen before, and he had become positively mesmerized. He had tried everything he could to please her, just have her send a smile his way, and he was certain he had made a complete and total idiot of himself. She had probably made some other friends, and was with them now, giving no thought to the silly boy on land.
Still, he found himself searching; he didn't seem to know exactly why, but he liked looking at her, and not just because she was different. True, it was A reason; she was the most beautiful namir he had ever seen, besides his mother of course, but she seemed so.....lost, adrift in a strange new world, and he wanted desparately to help.

Amadahy had been searching through the reef, trying to find a bit of warm water that she knew was unlikely to be there before the sun's warming light had returned for the spring.
Her temperment usually matched her surroundings; if it was cold then her eyes would glitter coldly at whoever deigned to approach her, if it was warm then she would smile pleasantly, if she were not it the water her humor would be dry and disinterested, and if she were in the water she would be open and searching for new things to do.
It was the water around her that kept her searching for a place of warmth, and the coldness of it that kept her thoughts so distant from allowing hope to enter. She came up for air in a more shallow part of shore, letting her paws dig irksomely into the cold sand, not noticing yet the sillouhette of the Namir on the shore not too far from herself.

Thinking that he had heard a faint splash, Celandine squinted towards a shallow stretch of water. He saw a shape there, and he felt hope swell in his chest like air in a balloon, and he began to walk toward the shape, hoping and yet trying not to hope that she had come back here.
When he saw the eyes, he smiled and broke into run. "Miss Amadahy! Hey, over here!" He skidded to a stop, hoping that none of the small spray of sand he had thrown out had reached her, and he sat there, looking happy, but feeling his mind go suddenly blank. "I...er......I'm glad to see you again. I was hoping....you know....that you'd still be here." He winced. Dummy, he mentally scolded himself, why wouldn't she be here? And now you're making yourself sound like a stalker!

Amadahy blinked at the sound of another's voice, looking around until she saw a form running towards her. Luckily for Celandine it was an easily recognizable form, or Amadahy in her cold state might have simply slunk back into the water, though it would have done her search for warmth no good.
Backing away just a little as he stopped in front of her, wrinkling her nose at the small grains of sand that spattered on it, she nodded at his greeting. Her cold eyes focused on him and she blinked at his speech, "Of course I am still here, it is the warmest part of the shore." She almost winced at her icy voice, not meaning for herself to be so standoffish or formal.
It was the cold of the water around her. "Forgive my freezing speech as I am not accustomed yet to the sudden appearance of others when I am not in the mood for them," she said, frowning when she realized that that sounded worse, "Were I warmer I would be in a better mood."

Cocking his head, Celandine looked slightly crestfallen. "Oh. Well....I don't mean to be a bother or anything. It was just that great seeing you again. Sorry you're cold; I'm not too crazy about cold weather either....." He suddenly perked up. "Hey I know! Why don't I warm the water again, like last time? Then it wouldn't be AS cold, at least." He didn't notice how his hind legs tamped the sand when he spoke, looking like a dog that was looking up at a stick that was about to be thrown, just itching to dash after it and in so doing, please the thrower.

"The cold is the bother," she said, trying to correct her earlier statement. It came across as slightly huffy, but she thought it was better than him thinking he was the problem. Her ears perked as he mentioned warming the water again.
She nodded, her eyes looking back to the water eagerly, only mildly noticing is odd footwork. Warmer water would definitely lift her spirits and her voice, and then she could properly speak about his sudden company.

"Oh boy!" Celandine did little to hide his enthusiasm at Amadahy's okay, and he shifted his body until he was all ready to blow out a long, steady plume right at the water. 'You should probably get out of the way again; I think I'm going to try for a longer one this time; maybe it'll stay warmer longer." He took as deep a breath as he could, and then blew out a long plume of fire, not a great big burst, but a steady, purposeful one. He heard the water hiss and saw the steam rise from the water as the flame did its work. When he finally ran out of breath, he stood there panting, looking at the steamy water, where a few bubbles were rising lazily to the surface. "Oh man; I think I might have made it a little too hot."

Amadahy stepped back to let him blow his fire, her eyes widening a little when she saw how long the flame lasted, "Wow." Frowning as the air quickly shivered over her and dried what little water was still left on her, she waited for him to finish, knowing that the longer he kept it up, the warmer she would be.
Not caring how hot the water was, only that it was warmer and wetter than she was at the moment, she dove right in. She revelled in the hot water for a while, swimming in little circles before she finally came up for air with reddened cheeks and happy eyes. "This is perfect!" she bubbled, floating peacefully.(Oh! They could go on a journey sometime in search of hot springs for her to live in?)

Celandine beamed so wide that it nearly took in his ears. "Whew! That's a relief; I was afraid I would accidentally roast you. So you have a thing for the really warm waters; you must be, you know, tropical." It was easy for him to imagine Amadahy as some sort of rare and precious tropical fish; after all, he had seen namrah with fish patterns; why not?
"At any rate, I'm glad I could help. Are you feeling happier now? Do you want to talk?" He wanted to go into the water with her and feel the hot water that he had made, but the very thought of immersing himself in water made him flinch.

"Tropical?" she repeated, her mind immediately bringing the image of a steamy jungle to her eyes, "A rainforest would be a nice place to live, wouldn't it?" She wouldn't have to be trapped in a river or a lake to stay wet, and the climate was always warm so she wouldn't have to worry about her cold personality coming out, either.
"Much happier now," she nodded with a smile, "What would you like to talk about?" Her eyes lifted from the water to look at Celandine, wondering if he was waiting for an invitation to join her in the water, "Would you like to come in? It feels really good!"

Celandine nodded. "A rainforest sounds nice......warm, at any rate, but too much damp and I wouldn't be able to practice my fire abilities. Water kinda makes me uncomfortable, especially when it's sticking to me." He shivered a little bit at the thought; he felt a pang as he thought of how hard it would be if Amadahy ever consented to let him hug her; would she come out or would he have to go in? Would he be able to do it, or would it prove too much? Well, at least now she was happy, and that in turn made him happy. Until she invited him to come into the water with her. He crouched a little and eyed the water as though it would leap up and drench him. "I....I'm not sure I can. I'm kinda scared of the water, to be honest." He didn't know what would happen to him if he as a half-fire, half-electric pokemir set foot into the water. He knew neither one mixed well with water, but surely his was only fire, and if he got into the water and his powers went crazy, there would be plenty of water to douse it. Still torn between yes and no, he continued to eye the water warily.
((Forgot to respond to your part; that would be cool! =D))

"Oh, I'm sorry," she said, ducking deeper in the water to blow bubbles to cover her frown, though the bubbles couldn't hide her downcast eyes, "I didn't know." Fidgeting as she lounged about, she tried to change the subject. "Did you have anything else you wanted to talk about?"

Looking more than a little frowny himself, Celandine lowered his head to hide the flush creeping up into his face. He knew it was against his nature to like water, but it seemed so......lame. Besides, had a fire pokemir ever tried going into HOT water before? Maybe he could stand it, or even build up an immunity! Right now he was most concerned that being unable to join her in her environment, Amadahy might find him dull and wander off in search of someone else to talk to. Fueled by that sense of pride and a good dash of pigheadedness, Celandine gritted his teeth and boldly walked toward the water. "Know what? I'm gonna try it. Who knows; maybe water that's hot won't be as bad." He pressed on until it was up to his knees, fighting back the urge to turn and run back to the dry shore. When he was up to his back, he began to feel a little lightheaded and weak-kneed, but he ignored it and smiled at Amadahy, moving his legs about to feel the warm water surging around him. "It's not....not so bad." ^^

"B-but-!" she darted through the water to flit around next to him, "Are you sure?" Watching his posture and obvious reluctance to go further she swam in front of him. "I think it is too so bad!" she frowned with worry at the getting to be dazed expression in his eyes, not moving from her spot in front of him in case he tried to go deeper.
If he went too deep she wasn't sure she was strong enough to pull him and his nine heavy water-logged tails back out of the water, "Please, don't hurt yourself." Her eyes looked up at him widely, her face submurging itself in the water to her nose again as she tried to think of a way to convince him that he didn't need to swim just because she was.
