Sealed appearance: Regular Katana, blade slopes down towards the blade away from the hilt, no hilt guard.
Shikai: Release Command: Jikkou shite, mirai ni owari nonai (Run, never ending to the future)
Forms a large claw like gauntlet on right arm
*Shikai abilities: Able to strike at long distances, able to attack through most anything, increased speed for wielder
Bankai: Name: hyakujuu no ou ha , oushitsu no tora (King of beasts, royal tiger)

Kido Technique:
-Bakudou 1: First Restraint Obstruction: binding technique that makes it so you are unable to move or difficult to move.
-Bakudou 75: Gochuu Tekan: A strong Technique used to bind the opponents limbs
-bakudou 61: Rukujyoukourou - Luminous Prison of 6 Bars: Kidou used to bind strong opponents much stronger than First Restraint Obstruction
-Bakudou 77: Tenteikuura - Heavenly Rickshaws of Silken Air: Incantation: Black and white net. Twenty-two bridges, sixty-six crowns and belts. Footprints, distant thunder, sharp peak, engulfing land, hidden in the night, sea of clouds, blue line. Form a circle and fly through the heavens Effect: Transmits messages to anyone within Soul Society, works better is used in conjunction with Bakudou #58.
-Hadou 4: White Lightning: A powerful attack that uses Kidou in the form of lighting.
-Hadou 63: Raikouhou - Lighting Tiger Canon: Kidou is gathered in hands and then shot off in a destructive blast
-Kakushitsuijaku (摑趾追雀, Summoning of the Tracking Sparrows) — Tracks and locates any spiritual force the user focuses on. To activate it, the user must draw a circle on the ground, cut into four parts with a specific character in each. The incantation animates the circle, causing various numbers to appear within until the specific set is found. The number set seems to be a variation on longitude and latitude.
Incantation: "Heart of the south, eye of the north, finger of the west, foot of the east, arrive with the wind and depart with the rain." ("南の心臓 北の瞳 西の指先 東の踵 風持ちて 集い雨払いて散れ")
- Rikujōkōrō (六杖光牢, Six Rods Prison of Light) — Summons six thin, but wide, beams of light that slam into a target's midsection, holding them in place.
Incantation: "Carriage of Thunder. Bridge of a spinning wheel. With light, divide this into six!" ("雷鳴の馬車 糸車の間隙 光もて此を六に別つ")
- Hyapporankan (百歩欄干, Hundred Steps Fence) — A rod formed of energy is thrown towards the target before it disintegrates into numerous short rods which are used to pin the target to the surroundings and render them immobile.
Incantation: unknown/none.
- Sajo Sabaku (鎖条鎖縛, Locking Bondage Stripes) — Binds the arms of a target.[8] According to Hachigen Ushōda, physical strength alone should not be enough to break out of a level 60 Bakudō, however Kensei Muguruma was able to free himself from this Kidō while in his Hollow form.[9]

- Shō (衝, Thrust) — Pushes the target away from the caster.
- Byakurai (白雷, Pale Lightning) - The user fires a concentrated, powerful lightning bolt from their finger. Rukia Kuchiki and Byakuya Kuchiki both used this spell and rarely other shinigami as well.
- Raikōhō (雷吼炮, Thunder Roar Cannon) — Fires a massive wave of yellow energy at a target.
Incantation: "Sprinkled on the bones of the beast! Sharp tower, red crystal, steel ring. Move and become the wind, stop and become the calm. The sound of warring spears fills the empty castle!" ("散在する獣の骨！尖塔・紅晶・鋼鉄の車輪 動けば風 止まれば空 槍打つ音色が虚城に満ちる！")
-Advanced Characteristics-
Personality: Easy going, laid back, belays a demonic fighting strength along with a cold fierceness.
Biology: Shun Katsuri was 'born' in Junrinan district of Rukongai and gained a name for himself by becoming a very popular Go and Shogi player. One day a shinigami from the 2nd Division, in disguise, came to Junrinan and played a game of Go with young Shun. The game was so intense that it lasted for a whole day and ended with a tie in the late morning of the second day. This was the first time that Shun had dreams of becoming a shinigami and began training to enter the Shinigami Academy, via suggestions of the 2nd Division Captain Muu Kutisuchi. Upon entering the Academy, Shun made almost as many friends as foes within his first year, often due to his above average skills with tatics, zanjutsu, and kido. He eventually obtained the title of 'Go King' from it's former owner, Muu Kutisuchi, who reveled herself to be the one that played the first game of Go that he ever took seriously.
Upon graduating, he immediately joined the 2nd Division and rose to a seated rank within his first three years. Eventually he became the Vice-Captain to Muu, whom he now saw as an older sister figure. When the time came to choose a new Captain for the 2nd Division, Shun was unable to perform Bankai at the time, sought out the second method, to have personal recommendations from at least six captains and approval from at least three of the remaining seven, and managed to get five recommendations as well as the three approval's, however this was not enough to get him into the rank of Captain. During the period of captainlessness, Shun was promoted to acting captain and took over the duties as well as the quarters, and the office of the Captain. While not performing his duties he began training to obtain Bankai. It took him twenty years to do so, but he did it and upon that date he became Captain of the 2nd Division.
