Orion was bored, a dangerous mindset for a mischievous young stallion like himself. Very. Very. Bored.
He had flew down from their icy, cold mountain top shortly after breakfast, skedaddling out behind his mother's back. Had she caught her before he was already in the air (where he could conveniently not be able to hear her yelling over the wind), he would have likely been stuck all day with his grandfather either getting a lecture or helping with chores around the teepee.
So, like any well-mannered youth, he ran for it.
And now was bored.
He strolled along the river that cur through the dense forest, idly stomping through the mud and shallow water. He shivered a bit as the water nipped at his ankles. The weather had been nice the last few days and the winter snow at been slowly melting down in the valley (which said little for their mountain home, which was almost always snowy). Most of the water had probably ran into the river, hence making it far too cold to walk in, let alone wreck some havoc in.
Pity. Mud fights were always fun.
'... Meh. Why not?'
So, here Orion was instead, delightfully running circles in the cold mud and marveling on its squishy-ness.

Eve sauntered around the teepee, it was all icky down below near the river she had looked over the hill a few times. She was oh-so utterly bored. What was she to do today? She sighed softly as her grandfather was out and about doing whatever he did. That always did curious her, she once followed him but he caught on and told her to go home. The old grouch, but she loved him.
She looked over the edge again and smelled someone, someone familar. She looked over yet again, it did not look safe at all. The mud became slick on the side and a pile of slop at the bottom.
He would be down their wouldn't he?
She decided to go down anyways, which was a horrible decision. She slipped in the first step and slid all the way down into the thick mud. She got to her feet slip slopping all over and put one hoof after the other slowly as it clung to her hooves and finally made it around the small bend and saw the grey figure. She just eyed him.
"What are you doing down here?"

Orion jumped at the voice. His legs were already generously covered in a thick layer of goopy mud that reached above his knees and the splattering had left drops of the dirt across his back, neck, and face. He paused in mid-mud slap and his head whipped back and forth to find its source. He eyes lighted up as he caught sight of Eve. He trotted over to her gleefully, unmindful of the heavy sploshing as he finally came to a decisive stop in front of her.
"Well, well, well," he started with a grin. "If it isn't my little miss lady Eve." He nudged her neck playfully in a greeting, leaving behind a smear of mud on her neck. "What am I doing down here? No, no, no, my little grasshopper. What are you doing down here?" He 'tsk'ed at her, shaking his head with a mock look of disappointment before breaking out into a grin.
"But, if you must know, which of course you must because who wouldn't want to know about Orion the Great. Therefore," he said, waggling his eyebrows, "I am simultaneously ditching chores, hiding from my mother, and getting dirty with a well-earned mud-fight." He gave a dramatic sigh and preened. "I know, I know. I'm a genius. Hold the applause."

She smirked, half of her body was already covered in mud from slipping. So what was a little more on her neck. She couldn't not look at the stallion. For some reason he had the unique factor that always intrigued the mare. "I am here because I was seeing what you were doing." she beamed again before moving her hooves. The sticky mud felt so weird. She bet a bathe would feel so good afterwards. Right now it was fun just to play.
She smirked, "Will do," she walked past him before kicking a pile of mud at his chest and smirking. "You said mud fight, didn't you?" She started running and slipping and sliding in the mess. She never thought she could have this much dirty fun. Orion was always full of suprises.

Orion gave a delighted (but manly, as he would insist later) squeal at the mud fight initiation. Little Lady Eve was a mare after his own heart, he decided, as a large spray of mud smacked him on the nose. He chased after her, sliding about in the mud. He could feel it dig into his hair and rest on his skin and start to dry into a delightful crust.
He reared as hes tarted to catch up, letting out a playful knicker before continuing the chase. He was getting closer--
SPLAT.
In the slippery mud, he tripped, tumbling over himself and landing face-first in the mud pile. 'Bother.'
