THE LAST - FOR YOU, I RETURN

Shee was waiting for him to return from wherever the heck he'd snuck off to, now over a day ago, her hands on her hips as she scoured the skies for the missing plane. She was standing inside the atrium and peering out through one of its large windows, her pretty little face set in a very uncharacteristic scowl though her eyes held an expression that treated to more of what she was feeling.

Where did you go, Einar? What was so important that you had to leave in the middle of the night and not tell anyone?

She'd discovered that Einar (and the plane) had been missing only earlier that day when Midori came to her with an inquiry about said plane. Mostly it was because she wanted to know if it was being used for a mission, in which case she wanted to know why the proper channels hadn't been followed, or she wanted to know if it had been stolen. Midori believed the latter over the former, given the evidence that the keys to the plane were still in lock up and no one had even tried to pick them out.

It was only when Lai had come to Shee asking her if she'd seen Einar anywhere that day, the pair had a date planned for something or another in the gardens, that let the young woman know it was the Norwegian who'd gone missing. It made sense, after all, because who else could have taken a plane so easily, let alone known which one wouldn't make any noise when taking off?

When you get back I'm going to give you the lesson of a lifetime.

That's what she kept repeating to herself at first anyway, but as the light started to fade and evening set in, so did a strange sense of foreboding. The sun was setting red, not its normal orange and purple hues, and she could only hold onto a pillar as she waited and waited.

But then, she heard it. The faint sound of an engine coming to a halt just outside the main doors. Whoever was flying it hadn't bothered to even try to get back to the hanger to properly land, they'd made due with something entirely impromptu, and as the engine roar stopped and the sound of someone's voice entered the air, Shee quickly shook all thoughts of fret out of her mind.

Einar was back now, and she pressed her hands once more to that familiar spot on her hips as she waited for him to make his way inside. It seemed like he was slow coming (probably because Einar knew the lashing that was waiting him inside), and Shee was about to go out and get him when his frame made itself known inside the atrium's walls.

"Einar! Where did you go?! Where have you been?! Do you have any idea the trouble you're in!?!"

Right away she started into him, her words biting with concern and anger all at once. She didn't seem to notice how his face was paler than usual, how his steps were slow and uneasy. She didn't notice that the color of his uniform seemed darker on the left side.

It was only when he drew close enough to her that she could actually reach out and touch him should she want to that the feeling of worry finally re-registered inside her head. Up close, he looked so ghastly, like a ghost barely moving on its last legs as it traveled to some unknown destination.

"Hey! Are you...listening...to me...?"

Shee's color had drained as well, her beautiful tanned skin now so pale it looked like creamed mocha, and her usually teasing eyes were wide with confusion and panic. He stopped beside her at the question and turned his head, looking her up and down for a moment as if he couldn't recognize the figure before him. He shook his head softly, like someone would if they had a fly buzzing around their ears, before he placed a chipper grin on his lips.

It looked terrifying. Inhuman.

"Einar, are you...alright?"

Einar moved to nod his head when his eye drew wide and both of his hands moved to his mouth quickly, as if trying to cover it to keep something in. It was no use to do so, he knew it in his mind, for as soon as he moved a heavy cough came over his chest and into his mouth.

It was followed by blood. So much blood.

Einar dropped to his knees as he coughed, his hands being pulled away as the cough turned to vomiting which only brought up more of the red fluid onto the floor before him. It was so dark in color, almost black instead of the red one would expect to be flowing in another person's veins, and it flowed out like he was merely spitting water from between his lips. The wound on his side started to pulsate blood as well, having been torn back open when he moved his arms quickly to protect his mouth from coughing, and the uniform spot grew darker.

Shee could only back away in terror from the sight of this all, her hands over her own mouth before they moved to the sides of her face in horror. Her jaw trembled as she watched this all unfold, the man she'd just wanted to give a lesson to coughing up enough blood to kill a horse before her very eyes, and despite her best efforts to prevent it she could feel tears well into her eyes.

When his coughing finally stopped Einar wiped his mouth with his sleeve, his body trembling as he tried to push himself up from where he knelt. It seemed too difficult a task for him at fist, as he had to try several times, but as he managed to properly sway himself back onto his feet he turned his gaze to Shee and smiled again.

A sad smile, one that seemed to say 'good to see you, now see you later'.

"Don't worry about me, I'm fine. Must've...eaten...something..."

He took a step, like he was going to walk off, before his body completely crumbled to the ground. Eyes rolled back into his head, Einar lay motionless where he fell.

And Shee screamed.

o! : When a certain point is reached in the meta, an 'hour' may have passed in time, leading Einar closer to death.

o! : While there is a high chance of survival, if things progress too long Einar can and will die if vital organs are damaged.

o! : Audun can and will move during the course of the Metaplot; he is not looking to be found.

-nar!! Einar!!

His name echoed in his ears, if for only a bit, and Einar winced as he tried to wake himself back up. He couldn't have been out very long, as he looked around and noticed that from where he was laying he got a good view of Shee's waist and arms, and he knew she'd been there when he'd taken the fall down. Perhaps he was out only a few minutes, maybe ten at most? There was no way he could stay asleep for so long, not now. He couldn't - he couldn't at all.

"Shee...? You're going to need...to clean the plane. I sort of got...airsick a lot."

Einar chuckled as he spoke from here he remained lying, his face against the cool marble of the floor and his words now echoing. He didn't really even have the strength to talk much more, let alone even push himself up so he wasn't laying in his own blood, but he still managed to laugh.

It was all he could do now. He had only twenty-two hours left.

Time he didn't want to waste. Slowly grunting as he tried to move his arms, Einar gave a weak dry heave as he got up enough that he could turn his head to see the woman by his side. He blinked a bit and shook his head, the same motion as before.

"Shee, I need you to do something for me. Well, several things actually, but first things first. I need blood, type O-. I also need excessive amounts of salt water, and I can't be moved. Do you understand me?"

Einar was clearly in no position to give demands to the LOTUS Elite he was speaking to, but desperate times called for unusual measures. There was no backing down now if he wanted to last long enough to see him again - wherever he was.

Her face betrayed a deep-set fear. She knew he was dying; she could feel it. There was no one else in the atrium-- it was just her and Einar, in the middle of the vast, circular room. There was a terrible symmetry to it, him lying in the centre, the blood providing a frame to his body as her eyes turned upwards to the great, domed ceiling. She couldn't decide which way she wanted to go; a great force was building up inside, threatening to spill out and with it would come everything. There was one thing she could not forget.

There were always alternatives. They would just have to find them.

And she would have to bury it, that feeling and those ideas, somewhere so that Einar and the recruits would not see it; would have no idea it existed. She was calm as she looked down on Einar, her voice low but unwavering. Nothing like how she felt.

"There isn't any time for jokes." She had moved to turn Einar, to check if there was anything external wounds, anything that needed immediate attention. Where was everyone? But she stopped, arm jerking back to her side as Einar spoke.

Couldn't be moved. Blood. What had he done to himself? He had stolen away on a jet, not telling anyone. She knew he wouldn't tell even now. She looked around wildly, hoping that someone would come by. She couldn't leave Einar by himself in this state, with his life seeping out of him slowly as he lay there.

"Is anyone there? Please! Hurry!" She tried to keep the hysteria she felt wrapped up in a tight knot in her chest. If anyone did come by, it would be better if she appeared calm.

Archer Wells broke into a run as he heard a voice cut through the peaceful air. A lady needed help, or worse, a friend did, and as the quintessential gentleman he was, Archer was obligated to investigate in either case. He rushed into the Atrium.

And stopped.

There was a vaguely familiar looking recruit on the floor, but what was more apparent than that was the blood. Yes, the blood, and as Archer's mind crawled back to assert dominance over his body, all he could think was how it would probably be hard to clean up and that it was a good thing the Atrium wasn't carpeted. He shook his head and took hold of himself. Now wasn't the time to let himself get distracted. He was English, blast it. Take control like an Englishman!

Only don't take control, a very British part of his mind noted, because Miss Sian is of higher rank than you, so that would be most improper.

He rushed over to the two and gave a hasty bow, because manners came first, no matter what the situation. Then he looked at the man on the floor and asked the two most important questions that floated into his mind.

"Are we under attack? What may I do to assist?"

User Image Hyo was taking a walk around the building, alone, wondering where did everyone go. Usually, he would pass by someone on the corridors from time to time, but today - nothing..
...hopefully nothing wrong happened...
"Is anyone there? Please! Hurry!"
...Hyo stopped suddenly, and after a moment of silence, shook his head. If you only think about evil, it will always come...
It's been already a few months after Hyo arrived in LOTUS, and the lessons in engrish were slowly taking effect. But even if he didn't understand the words, the lone tone in which they were spoken would tell Hyo that something went terribly, terribly wrong.
He immediately turned to the side from which the voice shouted, gathered the folds of his dress, raised it slightly, and in a very un-lady-like way ran in that direction.

Which led him to the main Atrium.

With someone dying in the middle of it.

Just as he arrived in the room, the first thing he saw was a trail of red, leading into the very center of the place. And there, lied a slightly familiar figure.
He didn't know that man personally, and never talked to him. But he remembered his face. He was the one, who often accompanied the Kind Spirit. The weird, unusual person, who alway, always was way too close to Raai than he should.
And now he was dying. Did some sort of a monster attack him..?
...was it still...here?
The boy paled slightly, and instantly froze, unable to do anything but stare at that scene, and the two people who already found the body. Then, he made a slow step. And another one. Slowly, slowly getting closer.
Because he saw it.
He wasn't dead -yet-.
...will the Kind Spirit cry when he dies?
Because he'll die, without doubt. When you lose so much blood...you just can't keep on living...
But something kept dragging him forward, in this painfully slow pace. When he finally reached the body, he kneeled on the ground, right next to the other girl - probably the one who was screaming - and once again looked at the man's face.
"...What here happen..?" His head slowly turned around to the girl, and looked at her, qith question in his eyes.

A spin around the gardens had done Alberto a bit of good after an evening in the library. The area had been fairly quiet as the sun waned (as tended to happen) but to be honest he enjoyed it a little. The tension of the strangely-empty library was hanging on his mind as he remembered the books he poured over, trying to catch up. Normally there was another person hanging around in the library, but then again he was there later than normal. That was probably the reason for his privacy, if anything.

He rounded the Atrium with nothing more on his mind than going to bed once he reached his room, but a shout from within stormed his thoughts. It wasn't an accidental shout, such as if one had tripped and fallen (he could tell that much), but there was something urgent about it.. this woman's scream.

Something was wrong.. something was very wrong.

His eyes narrowed, a million possibilities running through his head. He'd heard screams like this before, nearly a lifetime ago, and they never heralded anything good. He threw open the doors and ran inside, catching the sight of a woman sitting by a man's side and flanked by a few others.

That was when the smell hit him. Blood streaked the floor and led him towards the group in the center of the Atrium, pooled around the man that lay collapsed in it. It took Alberto a second, but he recognized this man.. it was the man he had met in the Gardens not too long ago.

"What's goin' on here?" he asked as he approached, his eyes traveling from the young woman located next to this man (she was one of the higher ranking officials, he remembered), to the blonde gentleman and the long-haired woman standing nearby. The smell crept into his brain and was settling in to give him a sharp headache. This man was dying.. something needed to be done. "Do we have a doctor?"

"Way to bring the crowds a running, Shee."

Einar chuckled a bit as he groaned and tried to lift himself up more, taking in a view of who was and was no before him. He recognized a few of them right away - Albi, the person Lai called 'Hyo', bvut there was another person with a distinguished accent that he had no idea who it was. There wasn't anywhere else here, yet, and Einar heaved as much of a sigh as he could without feeling his chest rattle.

He wasn't there - at least not yet - and before he showed up Einar wanted to try to get a few things under way.

"There's really nothing to see here folks, it'll all be over soon. You can go about your merry way, but if someone would be so kind as to go out to the airplane parked in onto of one of Shee's planters and get the radio out of the cockpit, I'd be much obliged. There's a show I want to listen to with one of my favorite DJs on."

He turned and looked at Shee, his eye narrowed slightly.

"Didn't I ask you for something, or do you really like making others do all the work for you?"

Archer opened his mouth to protest that indeed there did appear to be something going on here, but closed it. It would be unchivalrous to cause undue stress to one currently shedding a large part of his blood onto the floor, he decided. It was better to just try to be helpful. So he frowned but nodded. "I shall go and fetch the radio." he said firmly and walked off to get it. When everyone was out of sight, he broke into an ungentlemanly run, and he didn't stop until he reached the aircraft. Clambering into the cockpit, he looked around in it. Radio, radio... He had seen pictures of radios. He had read about radios. He could find this. Eventually, he clapped his hands. "Lotto." he muttered, pulling it out as carefully as he could.

He ran almost all the way back to the Atrium before taking a moment to compose himself again and walking in. Despite the fact the other man seemed to be in considerable danger and pain, Archer still could not help but think it was rather inappropriate to listen to 'DJs' whilst lying on a floor and bleeding, thus letting the sarcasm whizz neatly over his fair head. "Is this the thing you require?" he asked curtly.

When Shee had told him she had not seen Einar that day, Lai felt a faint pang in his heart that told him something was wrong. The Elite had not told him of the missing aircraft, so after her answer he politely thanked her and went on his way to freshen up a bit in the shower in his room. During his wash he had heard the drone from a plane echoing off the surrounding mountains, but paid it no mind. It was probably a delivery plane or something that the Elites and Wraith knew about.

After that business was done and he was changed into dark navy pants and a light brown, almost tan shirt with boots and his hair tied back, he had to figure out what to do with himself until something or someone came along. The Russian eyed his room and noticed a few jars of marmalade his aunt had sent him. Most had their seals cracked open due to Lai's curiosity of the flavors within, but one was not. Looking at the red jelly in the jar he knew what he would do with himself for a while and that was bring this unopened jar down to the kitchen and cook a little bit. The stores in the cold boxes were starting to diminish and Lai couldn't let that happen.

He carried the jar in both of his hands, idly turning it around as he descended the stairs from his floor down to the level of the Atrium and, later, the kitchens in the North Hall. Lai was on the last set of stairs when an echo-y plea for help reached his ears. That faint pang from before was back and it hit him harder than the first time. He made the decision that the voice was coming from the Atrium. He leaped from the last few stairs and broke into a run down the hall. The door was open and he could see people there, but the light coming from the windows made it hard for him to really see who was there. As he reached the frame he called out to the people who were idling around yards away.

"I heard a call for help, what is wro--" The sound of glass shattering on marble was heard as Lai's jar of jam slowly fell from the Russian's hands and connected with the floor. The sight of the blood cut him off and the shock of seeing that seemed to shut down the strength in his body. His face paled, making his blue-gray eyes stand out even more under his still wet hair. Those same eyes flicked from person to person, saw one leave quickly, and finally came to rest on a crop of blond hair sticking out from in front of Shee's side. Blond hair with noticeable and oh so familiar black straps circling through it.

No...No...No, no, no, no, no, no...

Red jelly, nearly the same color as the blood and oozing from the remains of its container were forgotten as Lai moved in what felt like a too-slow gait from the door to the center of the marble hall. His eyes would flick to the people, seeing but not registering them, but always they would go back to the blond head on the floor. As he rounded around Shee his head began to shake in a silent 'no' and his body began to tremble just as he fell to his knees before the fallen Norwegian.

"Oh Einar....No..."

Estrelas stumbled through sleepily, dragged along by Eponine.

The robot girl had had to drag Estrelas out of her sleep and down the corridor.

"Epaninny... What you do..." she mumbled. "Why we no bring Angel... Angel help..." she snored.

"I don't know," Eponine said quietly. "I heard someone call for help. Something's happened-" Eponine stopped as she saw Einar.

Eponine was born out of musical theater, and within the Theater, falsehood seemed more genuine than reality. Einar didn't look like Eponine's image of an injured man- his blood wasn't splattered artistically enough, and no one was singing a lament in B-flat Major about the sorrows of death-

But what was that? It smelled like herself- Eponine's nostrils widened a little bit as she sniffed the air. That was it. Iron. How impossible! The same things inside of her were coming out of a human!

A glance at Estrelas jolted Eponine into realization.

"Oh..." she said softly, looking over at poor Lai crouched in a tableau of grief. This wasn't how people died! People died after at least five minutes of song, plus extra time for the techies to change the set and do lighting...

"Oh," Estrelas repeated softly, then opened her mouth to yell, but Eponine quickly tugged her hand.

"Shh! I don't think screaming's a good idea..."

For the first time, Estrelas looked slightly ill. Slaughter was one thing. The blood of animals ran yearly where she came from, and she had often wrung a chicken's neck for a buyer in the market.

This wasn't the season of slaughter.

Estrelas slowly moved her mouth up and down, making little "Ah-Ah-Ah" noises.

And Eponine made a quick decision. Squeezing her eyes closed, she quickly said, "I heard a call for help. What can we do?"

And Estrelas, normally so c**k-sure of herself, shook her head dizzily. As if on autopilot, she reached over and patted Lai's shoulders with an uneasy hand. "You no do what? You no do what?" She was silent as she took the broom hanging off of the back of her skirt and began to sweep up the pieces. Her bold, flashy movements were gone, replaced by a sort of demure delicacy.

User Image ...so, that's how it'll be.
He knows already.

Ofcourse he would be sad. Obviously, the Kind Spirit cared deeply for this man... And even if it was too deeply... It's too late to change it already...
He raised his hand, and placed it on Raai's shoulder, trying to comfort him... As if he could comfort the Kind Spirit when his precious person is dying...
...but it was all that he could do for him...

"...It be okay, Kind Spirit... he be okay, it go...health again. Kind Spirit smile, no sad...he see you smile him?"

The inquiry about a 'raajio' and 'errplein' made the boy confused a bit. But thankfully, it seems that someone went to take care of that already. Good.
So he can stay here and make sure the Kind Spirit will be alright, when the man finally dies.

Del was quite oblivious to the fact someone was hurt until she walked into the Atrium. Her eyes first took notice of the large pool of blood surrounding the blond male in the middle. At first, she came to believe the male spilled something. As idiotic as it may sound, that was the first thing Del's mind registered to have occurred. With such a thought, she came to see she had nothing to worry about. Del went to continue onwards when the metallic smell of blood entered her nostrils. This is when the Mongolian began to panic. The most blood she had ever seen was during the birth of her cousin. That was quite a time ago and the amount of blood in the memory could probably not even be recalled. Feeling her head go dizzy, Del wheezed as she stepped forward towards the bunch crowded around Einar.

A squeamish feeling enveloped Del's abdomen, but she tried her best to not mind it. If she were to become sick, she would hinder the importance of taking care of Einar first. Rather, Del continued over towards the circle of people. She spoke up, inching her body up so her voice could be head. "I...I can assist!" Del spoke as she tried her best to speak up. The charms about her hair jingled, sounding more like a loud ring within Del's upset head. But even with speaking up, Del was still quite a distance away from the atmosphere of chatter. She was too worried about the blood. To her, it was like a poison just slowly creeping about the floor. Each time she caught a glimpse of it, she would swallow thickly.

But she had to keep her head on task. I must assist.
