Vate sighed. Why'd he have to babysit? Why? Not that he didn't get along with Vinny, quite the contrary. But babysitting? Him? It just wasn't right. It didn't suit the elven warrior.

Vinny seemed pleased. "Do you think we'll meet up with any dragons?" He asked. He frowned when his uncle rolled his eyes. "We have to protect Almie though," The toddler reminded him. "Cause the dragon.. Josh says.."

Vate shook his head, and looked to his daughter. She was at least two feet taller than Vinny. The man was sure she could take care of herself. Anyway, what did she have her tail for unless it was for defense?

'Zuba was out again....alone. But this time, she had permission to be out and about, and this time, she had a coat and pants on. Mother had finally decided she was old enough to do things on her own, which was a blessing.

She found herself walking along the streets of Isle De Gambino, quite a ways from home. She originally had been going to Barton to check the library out, but exploring a new area seemed much more appealing. Sure, she had no idea where she was and was helplessly lost, but she was having fun.

She stepped inside a museum to warm up, rubbing her arms. Bad thing about exploring in winter: the cold. So, while she was letting herself regain body heat, she figured she may as well see what the museum had to offer.

Vincent thought he saw someone familar . "'Zuba!" He cried, happily. He raced down the museum hall to meet his friend. Almie was trailing behind the toddler, and Vate reluctantly followed.

One of the hall monitors glared at them. "No running!" He said. "This is a museum, not a theme park!"

Vinny seemed to know the girl, so Almie didn't mind. Vate was trying to place the name. "'Zuba... Are you Stasia's daughter?" He asked.

'Zuba offered a small smile, turning to wave to her friend. "'Lo, Vincent." she said, completely ignoring the hall monitor. Psh, unimportant man needn't be heard, anyways. She then looked up at Vate, nodding. "You're Mother's boy." she stated simply, shrugging. That's what he was, wasn't he?

Vinny was delighted to see his friend. "How are you?" He asked. "Not still grounded?" He wondered what kind of game they could play in this place. Who cared about lame 'famous' art? Or those boring statues you weren't allowed to climb on?

Vate looked confused for a moment, and then nodded. "I suppose I am." He said. He wouldn't have put it that way, but he wasn't going to explain it to a little girl.

'Zuba chuckled, shaking her head. "Not grounded. Free now." she said, actually attempting to crack a joke. "I'm fine. You?" She then looked at Vate, nodding once. "Make Mother happy. I approve." She said simply before returning her attention to Vincent. Vate could rest easy now; 'Zuba had given him the seal of approval, apparently.

"'S pretty?" 'Zuba asked the toddler, motioning to one of the paintings.

Vate was a little startled, but he nodded. "Thank you," He said. Well, that would make it easier to get to know Stasia's children, if 'Zuba approved. Wait. He made Stasia happy? That meant he'd get another date!

Vinny looked at the painting for a moment. "Nice colors." He said. He liked the bright colors, but he didn't understand the painting at all. He tilted his head. "What is it?"

'Zuba just nodded at Vate, then looked back to Vincent. "Don't know....abstract?" she suggested, looking back to the painting. She liked how the colors would splattered across the canvas in bold strokes...but she failed to see how it could be considered art. After all, the twins could do the same thing, and they were toddlers.

Vincent didn't understand the concept of abstract, but he nodded. "This one's pretty!" He said, pointing to a painting of stars. He liked the colors. Vate didn't like it so much. Too much blue. But he wasn't about to discourage children's love of the humanities.

"It's a famous painting," He explained. "Called Starry Night."

"By van Gogh." 'Zuba finished, looking at it. "Have in my room." True, she was a fan of Vincent van Gogh. She liked paintings, like this one, that seemed almost simplistic in nature, and yet still wonderful. "'S view from his room at asylum." Well, looks like someone knew their art history.

Vinny tried to understand 'Zuba was saying. So the painting was made by some kid named van Gogh? Wow; Vinny wished he could paint that well. She had it in her room? Lucky.

"Mommy painted pictures in my room." He said, nodding. "Not as good as this--" He gestured to the painting. "But still good."

Well, she had a print of it, anyways. She looked at Vinny, listening. "What pictures?" she asked, curious. Maybe it was butterflies? Or flowers? She had no idea what a boy would have painted in his room.

Vinny thought. "Stars," He said. "And clouds, and a space ship and the moon. On the c'iling. Mommy likes that stuff." He paused. "But Mommy's taking care of Josh-- cause he stole my cold."

For some reason, the toddler looked pleased. "Mommy told him to stay away, but he didn't listen!"

"Should always listen to Mothers." 'Zuba said, then paused. "Should usually listen." She had to amend that, thinking of all the times she'd gone against her mother's word. She chuckled. "Sounds nice." she murmured, picturing what his room must look like.

Vinny nodded, he agreed. "I always listen." He said smiling. His smile faded slightly as Vate shook his head. "Okay, so not always." He amended, frowning at his uncle. "Most of the time, though."

Vate nodded in approval. "Most of the time," He agreed. "When you're not asking for something."
