A soft growl rose from the toddler's chest as he walked through the strange, shaded building... thing. His tail lashed around behind him, and he tightened his grip on that prized halo of his. He wasn't sure why, but Noah had forced him into a pair of overalls- those things that Lir'nax wore, but with the fasteners on the back, so he couldn't pull them off. Along with that, Noah had put a weird tye-dye-ish white and green shirt on him underneath the jumper, making it so that he couldn't remove that, either. His anklewings fluttered softly from above his shoes, glad that they weren't squashed, though they didn't seem fond of the limited area of movement.

Neither did Aludra, though. In futility, the child tried to reach the fasteners strapped across his back, but to no avail. He probably would have been able to stand just wearing pants, but he at least wanted to get rid of this stupid shirt that was only irritating his scales further. Back to the explanation of where he was, though- for whatever reason, Noah had gone to one of those tropical-plant-fish-pond-thing-store. It was strange; there were flats inside that were around two-and-a-half feet high, and full of water, with little plants floating in them. If you looked hard enough, there were even fish under the water. Toward the back, there were REALLY tall tropical plants, some of which almost seemed to touch the ceiling.

Lastly, there were little ponds of koi fish, which is what drew in Aludra's attention. He wanted a fish. A frown grew on his face. Noah would get him a fish. Stupid store; Noah didn't even have a pond anyway. They didn't even have a back yard. All they had was a tiny little patio. Was he going to try to put a pond on that thing?

Slythor was begging his dad for their first pet. Sadly, Zephyr finally gave in and agreed on getting a fish. He grinned as they walked to the nearby store with his allowance of years gone by eagerly stuffed into an almost exploding wallet. The child ran into the store when he first saw it, running aorund eagerly before slamming right into a kid holding a halo.

Zephyr watched his son run into the store. He continued walking at his own pace, sure his kid wouldn't be getting into too much trouble.

Aludra, of course, was paying no attention to the people around him. Instead, he was watching the tall, tall trees that took up so much of the building, tail swishing contentedly. Maybe someday he would be that tall... No, that wouldn't be fun; maybe someday he'd be able to fly to the tops of those tall-tall trees. He fluttered his anklewings and glared at the tree. Then again, he doubted that the little wings would ever be able to support flight, unlike the wings his sister had. Stupid other-people, having big, flight-worthy wings.

With his lack of attention to his surroundings, it was no surprise that he was thrown to the ground as soon as he was crashed into. He winced slightly at the impact, pushing himself off the ground and rubbing his head, turning to look up at the one who'd pushed him over. His first instinct would have been to get angry at him, but there were two reasons he didn't want to get all mad at the other boy. One, he was much bigger than Aludra was. Two, he had so many pretty things all over that Aludra, himself, could only dream of having been born with. Especially the big, orange-red wing. That was the part that he was the most jealous of.

He took a few steps closer to the other, wide green eyes staring up at him as his tail swished back and forth, grip going lax around the halo that he normally held onto as though his life depended on it. He pointed up to the other, still in awe to a certain degree, and asked that question that he had to ask everyone. "Who...?"

Slythor growled softly in pain, looking down at the boy he had knocked into. Realizing he had probably knocked the boy over seeing how small he was he walked to the boy to help him up. "Sorry there." He spoke calmly. "you should've gotten out of the way. " He spoke calmly, before he heard the familiar chirping of his bird as it flew over to one of his horns. Then he noticed the kid's envious staring.

"What?"

Aludra simply remained pointing at the boy, before his hand slowly fell from it's position. As the other reached out to help him up, he took the boy's hand and pulled himself to his feet, not a difficult thing to do given how light he was. Still, as a toddler, and an observant one at that, he said very little in reply to the other's speech. "Sorry," he mumbled, not totally aware of his own words. He watched with wide eyes as the bluebird descended onto the boy's horns and blinked a few times.

Shaking his head to get himself to stop staring for at least a brief moment, he tilted his head to the side, before pointing to himself with the hand that held his ribbon-wrapped halo. "'Ludra," he stated, before pointing back up at the boy, who hadn't yet answered his question; obviously, that wasn't something that Aludra was going to forget anytime soon.

"Who?" he asked again, before pointing up to the bird as well. "Your's?" he asked curiously. It wasn't as though he hadn't seen birds before; well, he hadn't, but he'd seen them on television and such. He'd just never thought of a person owning one as such a loyal companion, especially one of the kids who was like him. Well, kind of like him. Just bigger, and prettier, and with a nicer, bigger wing and green hair instead of the pink hair. What was it that Adhara had said that emotion was...? "Jealous..." he murmured, more to himself than anything. Stupid other people and their... better... appearance... things.

Slythor was quick to introduce himself. "I'm Slythor. This is my bird, Blue. Nice to meet you Ludra. Where's your parents? Aren't you supposed to be with them?" He asked curiously. He knew he own father wouldn't allow him to be away anytime soon. Maye he just had an overprotective dad, but even then this child was still just a child, a toddler.

He remembered being a toddler once, though he doubted he was so quiet. He was proably just as observant, just not so awed at random things. "You're jealous of me?" He asked quietly, stroking his ego a bit.

"What?"

"Parents...?" Aludra asked slowly, blinking up at the boy who was standing above him, before he glanced either direction, looking for the trademark symbol of the brunette with the pink streak in his hair. Finally, he found the man, who appeared to be irritating one of the staff with numerous questions about plant life and fish life and other things like that. He looked at Slythor once again, before pointing over to his 'father'. "Noah," he stated. When asked if he should be with the man, he shook his head easily. "Don't like much," he added, mostly on the idea that he really didn't like being around Noah that much, as the man was, after all, the one who put him in these irritating clothes. That thought in his head, the child scratched a patch of scales on his chest through the material of the shirt, bothered by the stupid piece of clothing.

"Jealous," he said again, agreeing with the other's statement and nodding a couple times. Once more, he pointed up to the scaled, strange-looking bird, reaching a hand out with interest. "Can pet?" he asked, as politely as he really knew how. It looked soft. After all, his own feathers were at least semi-soft, and the bird was covered with them, as well as scales, which made Aludra want to pet the bird even more, aside from the craving to have the animal as his own pet. Maybe Noah would be able to get him a bird. That would certainly be nice, wouldn't it...?

Slythor nodded understandably. He was rather tolerant of his father. He was treated well and there was nothing wrong with his dad for him to complain about, so he didn't mind being around him. This kid seemed to have an issue with his dad, so he chose not to delve further. He simply smiled and his bird came down to his scaled arm to offer himself for petting.

"Blue likes being pet. He won't hurt you." He reassured Ludra, smiling contentedly that he was being asked to pet Blue.

Blue let out a small set of tweets and tunes before copying. "Blue won't hurt you."

Aludra was glad for the not needing to answer any kind of question about Noah. His problems with his father were actually just the fact that the man gave into Aludra's every, single greedy impulse, when the boy didn't even deserve what he was getting, so shouldn't be getting it at all! Stupid Noah was just stupid and easy to mess around with and make do things. Which irritated him for reasons he didn't quite understand.

Aludra smiled brightly when the beautiful bird hopped down, outstretching a partially scaled hand to gently pet down the animal's scaled and feathered back. He jumped slightly when the other repeated what the taller one had said, and his expression brightened further. "Can talk...?!" he asked the bird, almost rhetorically, before going back to happily petting Blue, then pointing toward Slythor with his free hand. "Very lucky. Wish had Blue-bird," he said, nodding harshly as though it was almost a demand that the older one feel lucky, before he went on petting the rather large animal.

Slythor chuckled softly, watching Aludra stare at Blue as if astonished. "Yeah. Blue is pretty cool." He spoke as he watched the large bird instinctively hop onto the kid's arm that was petting him, purrinf his feathers out proudly. Slythor laughed again.

"I came to the shop to get Blue a friend. Blue gets bored when I'm off to do things where he can't come." He spoke. Though he loved his bird, some places were too intolerant to allow his bird to come.

Aludra's eyes widened slightly when the bird migrated to his own arm, being off-balanced slightly by the weight of the animal, before he smiled at the animal, moving his hand to gently ruffle and pet the feathers on the bird's chest. He reflexively flapped the wings on his ankles at the feeling of the feathers on the bird's chest; they were so much softer than his own, which was likely attributed to the fact that his own little ankle wings were partially scaled, something having gone a bit wrong with all the ridiculous-looking patches he had all over his body. He scratched his arm a bit, before going back to petting the bird, gently pressing one finger across it's head and smiling happily. "Pretty bird..."

He glanced up when the other started talking again, nodding a bit with the comments, before smiling softly at the bird. "Makes sense," he commented. He blinked up at the boy curiously, mind formulating an interesting plan, though he really doubted that it would work. "'Ludra could take care?" he suggested; he didn't mean all the time, just when Slythor had to go somewhere and Blue wouldn't be able to come. After all, Aludra wouldn't mind at all taking care of the pretty bird. Not one bit. Though, when it came to giving him back...

Slythor chuckled again when the man asked about taking care of Blue. "Blue is very picky on who gets to take care of him. I don't think he'd enjoy having to be cared by from anyone else but me really." He chuckled and pat Blue gently. Blue enjoyed all the attention. He didn't seem to mind that Ludra was offering to care for him, although he personally wouldn't enjoy someone else caring for him. He wanted only
Slythor to be his caretaker.

Aludra nodded a couple times, and continued petting the bluebird that strangely seemed to resemble a dragon, scales and all. He gently pet down the scales that went down the bird's back and smiled faintly. After all, even he probably wouldn't trust himself to take care of an animal like Blue; which was why Adhara was Rhapsody's main caretaker. Aludra smiled up at Slythor a bit. "'Sense. 'Fter all, Slythor seem good take care Blue," he said choppily, before shaking his head at his messed-up way of speaking. He hated how much trouble he had with words. And pronouns. But he just generally hated those.

Slythor nodded and stroked Blue's soft head feathers. The bird ducked a little, as if disliking the touch to the head but otherwise tolerating it. The bird flapped and stretched his wings grandly.

The kid smiled as the bird hopped back to his arm, the creature's sharp claws dealing no damage to his clawed arms. He made an excellent perch for this same reason. On other, more tender flesh his claws easily sliced in.

"So, why are you here?"

Aludra winced a little bit when Blue jumped off his arm, inspecting where the bird's claws had been dug slightly into his arm. There was a slight scratch in one place, where there were no scales, but the rest of him was fine, and he wasn't bleeding in the least. He let his arm drop, tail swaying to either side. At the question, he scoffed slightly and rolled his eyes. "Has no idea. No place for pond," he commented, referring to the fact that his house was a really stupid place to try to do landscaping. Noah was stupid though, so he guessed that it fit. The boy snerked softly at that idea. Fit perfectly, didn't it? Stupid Noah, stupid idea.
