Wide green eyes blinked up at the roof of the church building, where protective gargoyles sat with a claw bared toward anything that may attack. This didn't make sense to the small Greed child, however. The church bells that signaled afternoon mass is what had drawn the toddler's attention, but the gargoyles and the large, coloured glass windows were what kept him just staring and staring. Why on earth would they put something that looked like that on the same building that had a lady with a baby painted onto a window. He shook his head furiously, pink hair scattering across his forehead.

He looked up once again, before he squatted down, tail swishing back and forth, as he watched the large beasts, ignoring the masses of people that walked toward the church. The wings on his ankles fluttered a bit as he frowned at the statues. He wanted them to take flight! He wanted to see those stone animals do their purpose and protect the 'place of the lord', as the church said on its doors. He wanted to know how something so big and probably heavy would have the ability to take flight. Unfortunately, the only thing that happened involved people tripping over the little pink-haired toddler squatted in the middle of the sidewalk.

Devan tugged on his 'uncle's' hand as they walked. He was dressed in his best clothes, tail hidden from view and a cap on his head. It was the first time his Uncle had ever taken him out since his mom was so protective and he was excited. "Uncle Greg?"

"Yea, kid?"

"Where we goin'?"

Greg ruffled his hair from under his weird golf hat. "I'm takin you to church. I think you should go. Sin and virtue after all. Might help that Envy side of yours." He said as he gazed up at the buildings as they passed. He glanced back down to look at all the people and stopped. Who was that? The wings on his ankles made Devan light up. That was one of his kind! No doubt!

"Dev'!" Greg called as the boy started to tug him with a strength all his own. "What are you doing?"

He glanced back for only a second. Wide grin in place he let go of his Uncle's hand and sat down in front of the boy. "Whatcha doin'?" He asked softly starting to revert back to the shy nature. He slipped his tail out and leaned his head on it. "You look sad."

"Uhh, I'm glad you have a new friend and all, Dev, but the middle of the sidewalk's kinda dangerous." His temporary guardian stated as he stood in front of the group of people coming, acting as a buffer.

Aludra's bright eyes just stayed locked on the strange creatures, not noticing what was going on around him. He was never dressed very well, and with today being no exception, he was in the green pants that he favoured, as well as a pale pink sweatshirt that was quite a few sizes too big for him, and fell off one of his shoulders. He remembered that Noah had told him the things were called 'gargoyles', and that they were supposed to protect special places like churches and other big, important buildings. Well, if they were supposed to protect them, why weren't they moving!!

That was when his eyes widened and he was forced to blink abruptly quite a few times, toppling backward from his ill-balanced squatting position. But they- Gargoyles- Children...? What was going on?! He got back up, this time on hands and knees, and peered closely at the other boy, his own tail swishing back and forth slowly, it's feathers bristling in the slight breeze reminiscent of the slowly departing winter. Every part of this boy seemed to resemble one of the creatures sitting atop the building, besides the fluffy, feathered, pink wings.

At the question, Aludra looked confused for a moment, before he pointed up to the beasts atop the church. "'Goyles," he stated in reply, before pointing to the boy curiously. Despite the similarities to both himself in some way, his sister, and all those other people, he still did look like the gargoyles. "'Goyle?"

Devan got a look of fear as the boy fell right over. He didn't mean to scare him! He's ready to right the boy but he seems to have done it himself. The gargoyle like boy leaned forward, large eyes intent on the other boy.

He was curious about the other one, himself. He already knew they were the same species as a broad term. But he was really close looking to himself. Was the the same thing?

His own large eyes blinked as he tugged off his cap. "Goyle?" He questioned then glanced up when the boy pointed then back down again. "Me?" He asked pointing to himself with a series of blinks before he grinned. "Well I guess so! I mean I do kinda look like 'em..." He said glancing back at his wings then up again.

Hmm... Less scary though.

"C'mon boys... You need to get out of the way." By now most of the people were safely tucked away in the church and Greg gave up to watch them closely. He wondered where the other kid's parents were but didn't see any sign of anyone. "Hey kid, where are your parents?" He finally asked trying to sound casual about it. He couldn't leave him there if he didn't have any.

Aludra grinned brightly at the response from the other boy, his tail twisting back and forth excitedly. So, this boy was one of the protectors who sat on top of places like churches, then?! Did that mean that he could fly? And- Aludra's eyebrows knitted, and he crawled a bit closer, sitting back on his knees and taking one of Devan's hands for inspection. Nope, he didn't have any claws. That was weird; if he was a gargoyle, all protecty and stuff, shouldn't he at least have claws? He shrugged it off and dropped the other's hand, turning his attention to the adult as he started speaking.

"None," he replied to the parents question; it was true, after all! Stupid Noah was not his parent. "Sister," he noted, pointing down the street, where their apartment was tucked away, visible from where the three were. "Facility parents," he added, trying to refer to the fact that his birth parents were at the Facility, and that he hadn't technically been born, either. That much he'd been told by his sister, which he was thankful for, as Noah never really told him anything.

He looked back over toward the strangely similar boy and scratched at a patch of scales on his cheek idly, before pointing to the other and blinking a couple times. "Who?"

Devan returned the grin. He rather liked this adorable little guy. He allowed Aludra to look at his hand, wondering what he was looking for. He glances up at the strange beasts on the church then to the boy. He really seemed to like them.

Greg frowned when he said he didn't have parents but at the mention of a sister he relaxed. Still, she left him alone. He was a toddler! What was she thinking? He'd have to drop the kid off before they left. He figured the kid was born from the facility. He resembled Devan and he vaguely wondered if they were the same... whatever they were considering themselves.

"Who?" He asked pointing toward himself. "Oh! You want to know my name!" He giggled into to his hands and smiled. "My name's Devan! That's my uncle Greg." He said motioning toward him. He looked back down at the other boy with a kind smile. "What's your name?"

Aludra's tail flicked back and forth happily and he stood from his squatting position to observe the man who had brought his new gargoyle friend to the church-place. The hand that hadn't been busy pointing at people was clutched tightly around the halo he'd had since he was at the Facility. Given it was his most prized possession, he never left it anywhere, and usually kept it with him. It was often how Adhara would pull him around; at least, it was how her tentacles did so. They seemed to like playing tug-o-war, despite the fact that it irritated Aludra beyond measure.

Deciding that the man was less interesting than the boy -Devan- he turned his attention back to his new friend, before walking all the way around him to observe his pink wing. His half-scaled hands pet the soft feathers gently, a bit of his previous smile returning. "Nice. Soft," he commented, before looking up at the question of his name, and going back to standing in front of the other. He pointed to himself. "'Ludra. Greed an' Hoo-mility," he commented; at least, that was what Adhara had said that he was. Maybe the other boy would know his own sin and virtue, which would solve the mystery of why they looked so similar. That, or it would only make things more confusing.

"Look same," Aludra stated of their similar appearances, his anklewings fluttering a bit. There was the difference, though, the wings on his ankles versus the ones on Devan's back. As well as the colour of them. And the fact that Devan resembled a gargoyle more than Aludra did. "You?" he asked, trying to point out the fact that he wanted to know the other boy's sin and virtue. They were probably the same, right? Because they did look almost like they could be related... right?

Devan was more then willing to let the boy play with his feathers and walk all around him. He waited kindly as the boy observed him and smiled, his tail waving back and forth. "Lurda!" He repeated with a grin and a nod. Easy enough to remember. He concentrated on the boy's words before nodding repeatedly. "Oh! I see..." He wasn't sure what humility was but he knew greed! He was part Greed!

"Yah we do..." He said smiling at the other boy. He fluttered his own wings in response and smiled. "Envy! Envy and Patience." So if they were both of the same thing did that make them brothers? Sure seemed like a good idea! "We're brothers!"

"Half brothers..." Greg corrected then as an afterthought added, "I think..."

Aludra's eyes glittered happily at the comment. He had a half brother...?! That was so cool! That was so much better than the little brother that he had who threw fits and got angry all the time. He stood on tiptoes and pointed up at Devan's eyes, a smile on his face. "Same eyes, too. Less red, prettier green," he said, giggling a bit, and letting his tail swish happily behind him, noticing that most the people were inside the church by this point.

He looked around, blinking a few times, before pointing at the church and looking up at Devan curiously. "Go inside?" he asked, wondering if that's what they were supposed to be doing. Though, he wasn't exactly dressed very nice. Maybe he shouldn't go inside, should he...?

"Yah... Well I think you're eyes are pretty the way they are!" He complimented, smiling at the boy. "Inside?" He gazed up at the large building and back at his current babysitter. "Uh, inside?" He asked pointing toward it. They were going in in the first place weren't they?

Greg shifted under the gaze of both of them. "Ah well... we were but its probably already started. Its rude to go in after its started." He said with a sigh and ruffling his hair. He hated missing church. "How about we go for ice cream instead
?"

"Ice cream!" Devan repeated happily then looked at Alurda. "Do you wanna get ice cream? Cause we don't wanna be rude! It's not very nice." He said trying to give a strong and parental like nod.

Aludra rolled his eyes, mumbling a 'don't think so' under his breath so that Devan wouldn't be able to hear it. If the boy thought his eyes were pretty, then he just did. Whatever- Aludra still probably wouldn't accept that as the truth. Aludra let his eyes go from Devan to the older man, though he much preferred watching the gargoyle-esque angel / demon boy. He listened a bit to what the man was saying, tail swaying to either side behind him. He nodded a few times, before looking back toward Devan.

Somehow, the gargoyle seemed to make things seem much more appealing. He smiled brightly at the idea of ice cream, and nodded enthusiastically, before pausing a moment and looking in the direction of Noah's house curiously. He pointed to himself, looking up at Devan curiously. "Should pay? Not want rude," he said, given his 'father' had unlimited supplies of money, none of which he would miss. It all got replaced the next day, anyways, didn't it?
