Riley had decided, for some inexplicable reason, that it would be a good idea to take Emmet out. Out in the cold. Where there was a thin layer of snow on the ground. The military man seemed to have forgotten that snakes didn't like the cold at all, and was fairly lost as to why his quiet charge was very vocally grumpy today.

Emmet was bundled as much as he could; he had a hat, a scarf, a thick turtle neck sweater underneath a two-layered winter jacket and gloves. Having a long tail made it difficult, rather impossible, to wear pants and it was too awkward to move to put anything around his tail anyway. So Emmet was cold, and Emmet was grouchy.

"Home." Emmet grumped, moving rather slowly behind Riley. "Home Now." He said again when he was ignored, then took a tired look around the park. When it was clear that Riley wasn't going to oblige him, Emmet slithered away from his guardian to the slide; if he couldn't get away from the snow, he was going to hole himself up in the slide where it might be slightly warmer.

However, as previously mentioned, Emmet didn't really have legs; and no legs plus an incredibly numb tail made it rather difficult to lift himself into the slide.

Arith ran into the park with Konig, happy to be getting outside. He liked Kotatsu, and he liked her house, but she was no Mom, and sometimes it just got him down. Anyway, he loved the winter. It was the only season he was really comfortable, all the rest were too warm, but unfortunately he still couldn't find anyone to play snow soccer with him. And despite his most enthusiastic efforts, Konig staunchly refused to learn. Arith was disappointed by this, but all his lectures about responsibility and teamwork didn't seem to make the dragon feel guilty about it at all.

"So, Konig..." he said thoughtfully. "Where should we play?" He looked around. The options were enormous. "Let's gooo toooo the... Slides." Bounding over to the slide, he went down. "GeronimooooAAAAARGH!" The boy scrambled back up, then peered suspiciously at the slide. "Hello?" he said carefully, He was almost SURE an ice worm or something had made a nest there. He didn't have much experience with slides, but he was sure no one would go down if Norse monsters lived in them, albeit rather small ones.

Emmet had curled himself into a little ball inside the slide; it wasn't as cold as it was outside of the plastic refuge, but it was still damn cold. He was so affected by the cold and the drowsiness it caused that he barely registered the other person, despite their scream. Normally, that would have scared Emmet senseless, but today...well, he just looked up form his folds of clothing and his tail, staring up at the canine boy.

His tongue flickered out from between his lips a few times and his gaze - black sclera, black irises and slitted red pupils - remained fixed on him. Hard. "M'cold." Was his only response, and even then his teeth chattered. The normally timid and scared Emmet was gone, replaced by a freezing, grumpy and tired snakeling.

"Warm." The heat radiating off of the canine boy was obvious to him, and he reached out to the other one, even going as far as to try and climb the slide to get to him. He wanted the heat! He wanted to feel better! But damn, climbing in a slide was hard when you had no legs.

Arith blinked. That was no ice worm. That was a person who looked just like an ice worm! THAT Arith could deal with. He let out a sigh of relief. It was still early in the day and he didn't quite feel like dealing with mythical animals. Natural husky instincts kicked in as the boy shivered and he reached a hand down the slide. "Come on then." he said cheerfully. "I can help you stay warm, and my dragon, Konig can help too!" He looked at the ice dragon. On the whole, Konig did not look very warm at all. "...Actually, Konig can be helpful in other ways." he decided pragmatically. "I can't expect him to be good at EVERYthing."

Konig looked as if he agreed with this. Although the dragon was more alert in cold weather, he was still six shades of slothful. The dragon looked down the slide carefully. Whatever was down there did not appear to be easily edible, and he lost interest. He followed Arith around, and keeping the husky dynamo occupied all day was tiring enough.
