The intro bass of Anthrax's "Got the Time" kicked in throughout the arena. The fans looked around in confusion, but the screen revealed it all, as the video for Travis Nightsky's entrance played. The audience erupted into cheers as Travis stepped out onto the ramp, making his first appearance as an official member of the Burn roster. He was dressed to compete, and he made his way down the ramp, high-fiving fans on his way. He slid into the ring and retrieved a mic.
"You guy's diggin' the new song?" The fans all stomped their feet and let out a large "HOO!" Which in Travis terms, meant yes. "How about that match with Nuke Fusion at the birthday show?" Instead of the "HOO!" the fans cheered wildly as the screen showed a few of the clips of their match, including Travis being beaten with a chain, and his climactic 15+ ft plunge onto Nuke Fusion through the announce table.
"You know, I also won at December to Dismember."
Once more, the audience stomped their feet and let out a "HOO!"
"And yet, EEW management was not content with only putting me through hell at the birthday show... it would seem that, even though I have a match with Chris Cross, applesauce here tonight..." Laughter amongst the crowd, "that they haven't even had the thought that maybe, just maybe I might have liked to be in the world title tournament." Boo!
"I'm okay with it, actually. See, not only is it a new year, but I'm on a new show, I have new music, and I still have all of you." The fans cheered some more. They seemed to be behind Travis all the way. "And with the new year I like to set new goals. Now, the world title is not my main goal, not has it ever been. This year, I want nothing short of the glory of performing for you people, and giving it my all every time I do. Whether it be for the world title, or in a match against a member of the Tapout Mafia, I want to make sure that every person in the audience goes home with something they'll never forget." The fans went ballistic.
After a few moments the crowd calmed down and Travis began to speak some more. "There is someone who I know very well that is competing in the tournament tonight. That man is Nuke Fusion." The fans jeered at the name. "Now now, everyone, calm down. Nuke's not that b-" Travis was cut off as an image appeared on the titantron. An image he'd taken at the PPV of Nuke Fusion biting Animok's groin. "Oh, s**t. Maybe he is!" The fans laughed themselves to the point of abdominal pain.
"In all seriousness, though, I feel as though I owe my long-time rival a thank-you. I want to thank him for helping me get to where I am now. For pushing me to the point of acts of insanity, for pushing me to jump off of 15 foot ladders and take boxing lessons, and for helping me re-ignite my relationship with an old friend, Shadow." The fans had a mixed reaction to this. As a person, they did not much appreciate Shadow's actions, but they were glad to see him helping Nightsky at the PPV. "I want to wish Nuke the best of luck in the tournament. Believe it or not, he has earned a deal of respect from me, and nothing sounds more appealing to me right now than Travis Nightsky vs. Nuke Fusion for the world title!" The fans agreed, as they began to wildly chant Travis' name.
"But right now, I have a match to do. Let it be my first of the year, and the start of my road to immortality in the squared circle." Travis dropped the mic, the fans cheered, and he waited for Chris Cross to come out.

The lights in the arena go dark and the burning cross appears on the Tron, crumbling to the ground as the crowd goes silent. No boos, No cheers, nothing. Cross walks out onto the stage, without his music as the lights begin to turn back on, though dimmed, just enough to see that Chris was there and to almost make out the green and purple of his face paint. He brings the mic to his lips and looks down the ramp to Travis in the rings. "You'll have to excuse me if I don't have a humorous quip, or a clever comeback to you thinking of this match as a foregone conclusion. It's just that I have no idea who you are. I was told I'd be in a match with Travis Nightsky, and I found myself asking Everyone I could find a simple question. Travis Who?" The fans were still silent, still unsure as to Christopher's intentions or his allegiances.
"It seems that alot of the people in the back don't know what my goals are, and therefore didn't trust me enough to answer. They don't know why I do the things I do. The questions floating about... Is he with the TapOut Mafia....?" The fans finally reacted, booing at the mention of the name of this hated Stable. "And tonight, while our match is important to these fans, some to see if you can take out the new guy..." Some of the fans Cheered, the others still wondering where Cross was going with this. "Some to see if I have what it takes to prove myself against one of their favorites." Surprisingly to Cross some Fans cheered him, while the one who cheered to his last statement boo'd him passionately.
"But more important to me, and the following I've begun to gain with our audience, is to have the questions answered." More people were beginning to invest themselves emotionally in Cross as he continued his speech. "And I promise to give these people what they want. The Answers, And a match that will leave them satisfied as they go home tonight... A match that will leave them talking tomorrow all over their Internet Forums... At their Jobs... In their Schools. They will remember this night, this match, for a long time."
Seemingly satisfied by Cross' passion, Even more fans began to cheer him, which put a smile on his face as the lights were turned on completely and "Super Sonic" by Bad Religion finally began to play as Chris began to head down to the ring, slapping a few of the Fans hands on the way down. As he reached the ring, he rolled under the bottom rope and extended a hand towards Travis as a gesture of respect for a fellow wrestler, while his music faded.
((I'm looking forward to this one.))

(( So am I. 3nodding ))
Travis seemed genuinely impressed with Cross' speech, and even more-so with his handshake. Nightsky didn't hesitate to accept the offer, and return it by offering a lock-up. A fair way to start a match.

Cross went right into the lock-up and looked to attempt to get around Travis and turn it into a Hammerlock and begin working on his opponents left arm.
((I'm feeling really fired up for some reason.))

(( That's good! Give in to the fire! twisted Makes for a better match. ))
Travis' expression quickly turned into that of pain as he was caught in the hammerlock. He then attempted to twist out of it and reverse into a hammerlock of his own!

The attempt worked and Cross was put in the hammerlock. He winced in pain for a few second, before attempting to drop down and bring his opponent down with a drop-toe hold and transition into an Texas Cloverleaf. ((This is gonna have some good mat wrestling and technical skills. I am so looking forward to this. I know I sound like a broken record about my excitement, but my first match didn't even last this long. It was like three moves and then bam! Auto-win.))

Travis was caught in the cloverleaf, but the drop-toe-hold had left his torso close enough to grab onto the bottom rope before any significant damage could be done to his greatest weapon, his legs.
(( I understand that. The first match I ever had with this character ended with me getting an auto-win over the freakin' Undisputed Champion. It was cool, but I felt kinda cheap. Don't you worry, I'll make sure your second match is an epic one. xd ))

Cross let go of the cloverleaf, and backed up to the center of the ring, waiting for Travis to get to his feet, before attempting a running dropkick to the chest. ((Good. I'm looking forward to having one epic match.))

Travis was nailed with the dropkick. Instead of falling down, he let himself be thrown backwards onto the ropes. He held onto them and stood there, winded from the kick.

Cross went right back on the offensive and went to push Travis hard against the ropes and irish-whip him to the opposite side of the ring, trying for a sleeperslam on the rebound. ((It might go a little slow on the weekends. But during the week it will really pick up.))

Travis haulted, and attempted to reverse the irish whip and instead send Cross to the opposite side of the ring, then try for his own dropkick on Cross when he came back.
(( No problem. It's basically the same with me. ))

The reverse worked and Cross was sent to the ropes in place of Travis and came right back into the dropkick, which hit him square in the mouth, sending him straight to the mat, holding his jaw. ((I'm just glad you don't have a problem with it.))

Travis was right on him. He quickly kicked back up to his feet and grabbed at Cross' right leg, and attempted to roll him over into a one-legged boston crab.

Cross was dazed enough to easily get caught in the submission, though it only took a moment afterwards for him to get his head right enough to try with all his might to lift up with both his free leg and his arms and duck under, hoping to roll through and send his opponent to the mat. ((I hope that wasn't confusing. You know how Michaels does it? It hard to describe. I sound like an idiot. xp ))
