I found that interesting to watch as a report. Turns out that China is the leading leader in the world for air pollution. Which according to a video on youtube, search China and you will see the title I have up top. It talks about how China is proud of the fact they produce the most air pollution in the world as to them it means they are back on top.
I have been studying Chinese language, culture, history and arts for years. So I understand for the most part as to why they are so proud of the fact they have the most pollution. As to disease the Ambassador for China stated, "1 Million people will die of Cancer this year in China." He was seemingly proud of the fact of that because it showed that China had modern diseases.
So here is what I want to know...and discuss. Your opinions and thoughts on this subject.

It's pretty sick that humanity has disgraced itself to the point where we boast our abominations like trophys, and I don't just mean China.

Well, since they don't have many things and achievements to be proud about, they think that at least they're #1 about something and boasts about it. Funny how some people actually think like that.

I heard that China wanted to become like us in North America. So I think they think that, since they have all that pollution and diseases, they're closer to their goal. How the human race can be such a giant idiot sometimes.

For instance on the report it said from the chairman and I quote. "1 million people in China will die this year from cancer. Cancer is a very modern disease. We are proud." I think it is more the fact that China as a nation has always had a strong sense of national pride. Add into the fact that they were the strongest and most influential country for nearly 4,000 years. So, I think it destroyed some of their pride when they were forced to ask for help from others...and now that they have high industry it shows they can still go back on top. I think the pollution in and of itself is not what they are celebrating though. By looking deeper, to me they are celebrating the fact that they can indeed be the top country again...and they are doing it one step at a time.

i actually agree with you sn....since chinese are a proud group of people, and they tend to like being the best, and so they want to become one of the best again.
but i think your wrong, but you may be right darkfairy...I don't think that china wants to be like North America, since the chinese have like this thing where they want to be the best. So if they want to be like north america or usa, then they are admitting that the america is the best....which is unlikely that they will do that. At least i think so since chinese have a lot of pride and so that's one of the only reasons why. And the human race can be idiots sometimes because we were meant to be that way. Whoever made us, whoever we evolved from....none of us were meant to be perfect, and so we often are a stupid race in the things we do and how we pollute and hurt this planet, things, people, etc.
