Vate was fuming, as usual. Instead of the nice, romantic date he'd planned out, he was stuck with Almie. Argh, how annoying. The infant never shut up. She was always making some sort of noise, be it cooing, or crying.
This certainly wasn't the date he'd wanted with Stasia. It'd make a bad impression for one, and the elf really wanted to make a good one.. His date would be ruined..

"Hello." a voice came from behind the lad, followed by an amused chuckle. Stasia smiled at Vate; why on Earth did he seem so tense? Had something gone awry? If so, she hoped it was atleast entertaining so she could get a good laugh or two. She was dressed casually; a plain white t-shirt, denim bell bottoms, and a pair of grey Vans. She looked like she was ready for school rather than for a "romantic" date. Hey, nice clothes came later, if she decided she liked the guy, okay? For now, t-shirts and jeans would suffice.

Vate jumped at the voice, and turned. He looked relieved. "Hi," He said, trying to hush Almie up. "I'm really sorry about this." He added, "Thali sprung her on me suddenly and... well, I suppose I'm a dad." He shrugged, and looked confused. "I don't know how to turn her off.."
He sighed, rocking the blue haired infant. He looked at Stasia for a moment. "You look nice, by the way." He was trying to remain suave, but it wasn't working out too well.

Stasia smiled, waving her hand. "It's no biggie. Sounds like how I got Nataya." she said, her tone casual before she looked to the little darling. "She's adorable." she said, grinning. "Can I hold her?" she asked, obviously not bothered by the fact that he'd brought the infant along.
She paused a moment at the compliment, then smiled. "Thanks; you don't look half-bad yourself." she replied, chuckling. His "smooth" act was rather amusing in her opinion; like a little kid playing dress-up.

Vate handed Stasia the infant, relieved that he wasn't responsible for her, for at least a few moments. "Her name's Almira." He told her, "But that's just to make Thali angry... I've been calling her Almie."
Vate blushed, he wasn't dressed in his typical date clothes. A pair of jeans and a shirt. He shrugged. "Where do you want to go?"

Stasia smiled, situating the toddler and holding her on her hip, obviously knowing what she was doing. "Almie...that's a cute little name, isn't it?" she said, giving the babe a little hug. She was a cute little girl...even if she had an egg on her butt.
"Eh, follow me; I know the perfect restaurant to go to. And it's kid friendly." she said, smiling brightly. Aw, she'd gotten him to blush. How cute.

Vate forced a smile, and nodded. "Sounds good." He said. "You're good with kids.." He paused, looking at her with admiration. "How do you do that?"
He wished he was that good with kids. He hadn't been able to get Almie to do anything since Thali'd supplied him with her..

Stasia looked a bit surprised at first, but then smiled. "Well, I do have four kids...you tend to learn a few things after the first three." she said, laughing lightly, as if it was just a joke. Then again, that's how she treated most things.
"She's your first child, isn't she?" she asked, looking up from the baby girl to Vate, stating it more than asking it.

"Yeah, she is.." Vate said, sighing. "A friend of mine thought I needed one.. And now..." He gestured to Almie. "I've never even taken care of a baby, much less raised one.. I know I'll screw this up.."
He frowned. "I'm sorry, do you want to go a movie after dinner? Your pick."

Stasia smiled; she understood exactly what he was going through.. "Don't worry; it'll take some adjusting, but you'll get the hang of it." she said, patting his shoulder. "Besides, I doubt you could screw it up too badly, so don't worry. And there's nothing to be sorry about. A movie would be fine. Madagascar 2 sound alright?" That was a nice, kid friendly movie, right?

Vate looked at Stasia hopefully. "I hope so." He said, "I can't help thinking that this is Thali's idea of a cruel joke. She knows I'm not good with kids..." His brows furrowed in thought. He nodded at the movie title. "I've heard of it," He said. "Do you know Joshua?"

Stasia smiled, readjusting the kid. "Everything will work out just fine." she said, smiling slightly. She then nodded. "Yeah; he's friends with my kids. Why?" she asked, curious as she looked at Vate. "Y'know, she's pretty quiet for a baby; even 'Zuba was a bit more vocal than this." she said, jokingly.

Vate shrugged. "He's my nephew. Well, not really. I claimed him though.." Vate shook his head, looking at Almie. "You have no idea." He said, "She's the loudest baby I've ever met. I'm used to Thali's kids.. You know, they're quiet. Josh sometimes sings or hums.. But they don't scream.."

Stasia nodded, listening. She then chuckled. "This little darling, scream? I find that hard to imagine." She then thought about it. "Then again, I said the same thing about one of my friends' babies, and the kid almost busted my eardrum." She then looked to Almie, smiling. "You go easy on your dad, okay? He's new to this."

Almie nodded, seeming to understand Stasia. She cooed, and reached for Vate.
Vate blinked in surprise, moving to take the infant. "How'd you do that?" He asked, looking at Stasia in wonder. "Will you teach me?" Naturally, he figured it was some form of magic. You couldn't just ask a child to behave. That was out of the question.
