Chani was determined again to slip from the den in order to explore the pridelands on her own. She had failed before when her sister caught her, but she knew that she could do it this time. Easing over one of her brothers, the cub smirked and quietly made her way towards the den opening. Once she crossed into the sun Chani released a deep sigh that she'd be holding on her way out. The cub only made a few steps out, however, before she heard a family voice calling out towards her. Twirling her head, dual colored eyes looked suspicious towards the sound. She was certain she hadn't woken anybody up!
"Chani! You're not supposed to go by yourself. Shiri said that if you just take one of the hares you're fine. Why are you so set on getting in trouble?" Kutunza folded his ears back as he looked over his neice. Despite the fact that both cubs were only juveniles, the male found it his responsibility to look over the cub. Afterall, he was her uncle. Noticing that the female cub tried quickly to pad away, Kutunza followed after and asked, his voice a bit quieter, "I won't wake everyone if you just let me know where we're headed."

Barely open red eyes watched Chani leave the den...and once the other girl was out, the owner of the red eyes opened them fully and stood, quickly following. Irit was quiet, and curious. Where on earth could her sister be going? She held back a giggle as their uncle joined Chani, obviously trying to play the adult. Perfect. The pale juvenile strode up, trying to look as nonchalant as possible.
"Wasn't expecting anyone else to be up...especially you, Uncle Tunza." Of course...she wasn't quite succeeding at nonchalant, with her grin showing some.

Chani had tried to outrun Kutunza at first, but then slowed her pace when she found that her uncle wasn't stopping anytime soon. She was about to say something to him when she noticed another voice join them. With her ears flattening onto her head, Chani turned to spot her sister, Irit. Irit wore a devious grin on her face that almost seemed to scream 'haha! I caught you Chani!'. Letting out a light growl, Chani slinked low and approached her sister, waving her tail behind her. "How is that everyone always notices when I leave? I think you all pretend to be sleeping just so you can ruin my fun!" Chani pounced forward in an attempt to tackle her sister. The unextended claws showed that she wasn't really upset, but just playing around. As much of a temper Chani seemed to have, the cub wouldn't ever dream of actually hurting any of her family members - they were dear to her.
Kutunza chuckled when Irit joined them. He shook his head and paused where he was, taking a seat to watch the interaction between the two girls. "Maybe you should learn to be a bit quieter!" He teased, speaking normally now that the group was out of earshot from the adults. Kutunza might have suggested they go back, but they were all growing older now and the three of them would certainly be safe together. Plus, he enjoyed his outings with his neices.

Irit couldn't help but laugh, all attempts at innocence melted away. "Oh come on, sis...did you really think I'd miss out on this?" She rolled her red eyes. "Please. Besides, I was trying to figure out what to do when you snuck off. You just gave me something to do other than trying to go back to sleep." She squeaked as her sister got her, sending them rolling a bit.
The paler cub grinned and started to wrestle with Chani, taking care to keep claws in and to not bite. Like the other, the last thing Irit wanted to do was actually hurt one of her siblings.

Chani continued to swat at her sister as the pair tumbled around. She let out a couple playful hisses and growls, trying to appear tougher and at least intimidate Irit. With her fur puffed up, she managed to ease away from their brawl and climb back onto her paws. Narrowing her eyes, she watched her sister threateningly. "Fine fine! If you want to come, that's okay, but you have to be quiet and we have to leave quick! Last time I ran off Hodari was pretty quick to find me."
Kutunza watched almost nervously as his two neices played with one another. By the way they twisted and pawed at one another it almost appeared like a real fight. Moving forward every once in awhile as though to break them apart, the cub continued to remind himself that they were just playing. "Eesh. You two are pretty rough.." he said quietly. Having older parents, the cub didn't really rough house much at home. His mother's worrying was another reason to be careful about getting hurt. When Chani mentioned leaving, the cub raised to his feet and began to follow her, "Where are we going?"
Chani had already begun on her way, but glanced back only for a moment to add a dramatic flair to her answer, "The elephant graveyard."

Irit kept back a laugh the entire time she and her sister tumbled. And when Chani backed off, Irit could only keep grinning. That's just how that little trickster was. "Well then...let's get going." Last thing she wanted right now was Hodari or Tama to catch them. She nudged her uncle, chuckling.
"You gotta be, when your family is big. You should join us sometime, Kutunza!" Though her words were excited, she kept her volume low. And then she stared at her sister wide-eyed as they walked. "Seriously?! How are we gonna sneak past the guards? They're really thick there."

Although Chani kept walking forward towards the general direction of the Elephant Graveyard, it was obvious that she heard Irit's question as the fur on the back of her neck stood on end. Chani was compulsive and often forgot to fully think her plans through. Thinking as she walked, it took her a moment before she came up with an answer good enough. "We're small and with the three of us I am sure one of us can distract them long enough for the others to get inside. I told Vu that I would be smart enough to get inside and brave enough to steal a bone!" Chani's boasting always did seem to get her into trouble.
Kutunza's eyes went wide when Chani finally told them where they were going. The cub stopped so quickly in his tracks that dirt flew up around him."What!? Irit's right, there is no way we'd get inside! And if we get caught by the guards we'll get in trouble for sure! I heard that once you got caught by the guards once they kept a close eye on you from then on... I don't know if I want to be watched all the time." Kutunza gulped. Seeing that neither of his neices were slowly down, he sped up to catch them. When he made his way to their sides he listened carefully to Chani's plan. Awful, he thought. With another gulp, he spoke again, "I can only imagine who you had in mind to distract them..."
Chani only snickered when Kutunza spoke. "That way you won't actually get in trouble for sneaking in. In fact, you can always blame us on dragging you away from the den. But hurry up now, we gotta get there soon! The guards are sure to be tired earlier in the morning!" Chani sped off, making sure she was able to hear the pawsteps of her family members behind her. It wasn't long before the dark, dreary entrance of the elephant graveyard was visible in the close distance.

Irit grinned. Others always made good distractions! And...oh geez. She'd made another bet? Irit was certain her sister's bets were eventually going to go too far one day...
But for now, all she could do was help her sister out. She giggled at her uncle and moved to LEEEAN against him ever-so-slightly. "You'll be fine, Uncle Kutunza! Like Chani said...it gets you out of trouble if we're caught!" And then she took off after her sister, grinning.
