Axiom had followed the pack the entire time, mentally mapping the entire area as if he were a wolf GPS.

When he noticed where Reicher had brought them, Axiom blinked. The only reason he had come with Reicher was the promise of food and protection, and as far as he could tell, there was no large game to be found here.

Eyes taking in all he could see, Axiom was at least happy that with the freshness of the lahar deposits and the lingering smell of sulfur in the air that this volcano was spent. For a good while at least.

Not that that made him any happier about the situation, and once Reicher was occupied with whatever, Axiom broke away from the group silently to go check out the borders.

He HAD to know the terrain by heart, and the faster that happened, the less agravated the once lone wolf would become.

The trail wasn't too hard to find, and Batool held it with a quick pace, only stopping for rests and 'power naps' twice. She had a lot of catching up to do. Unfortunately, by the time she got there the black widow could tell that not only was this Sashta back, but so was Ran.

Maybe Reicher was dead? A pang of jealous glee hit her, happy news it'd be, but she would have loved to be the one to kill him herself.

Cocky males thinking that they're gods. Pah! The Earth herself was a Goddess, creator of all, and she was not going to tolerate such disgrace.

The wolf was about to head towards the pack and Reicher's disgusting choice of land [more proof that he was no god] when she caught the scent of another male.

Only faintly did he smell of the pack, as if he had tried to keep his distance from Reicher, a very grand quality in her mind, even for being male.

And so Batool changed her course and followed the lone male instead. All else fails she could get a lovely meal out of the occasion.

Axiom was too distracted in taking in every inch of this decrepid land while greatly angered by the situation he had stupidly gotten himself into. He should have known a crackpot such as Reicher would not have delivered on his promises.

And now, the lavender wolf had to find a secure way out of said situation. After he learned this 'packland' like the back of his hand however.

So distracted was he that Axiom didn't notice the dark wolf coming up on his right.

He didn't seem to be paying attention to her, concentrating on something else. Perfect.

The moment she was close enough, Batool lunged at the other wolf with a low growl, knocking him to the ground simply from the weight difference. She said nothing, only growling deep in her throat, hair bristling so that she looked even bigger.

Without much time to think, Axiom turned to see a black wolf dive at him, and he immediately rolled his shoulder too somewhat block his jugular from her jaw. Still, despite the effort he hit hard, knocking the wind out of himself as he immediately made move to get on his feet.

Darting to the side, he made a snap at the larger wolf's neck, but changed his aim only after he had dove in, in hopes to confuse Batool.

He was quick, she'd give him that. Snarling at Axiom as he dove, Batool calculated her attack based on his dive, and therefore surprised when instead of jugular and the sweet taste of male, Batool got a jawful of shoulder.

The force alone was enough to knock him off his feet once more, even when he had successfully grappled his own teeth into her flesh. She felt the bite, but not the pain, thinking only of restraining him for the moment.

He had managed to do what no other male had done in a long time, and now she found herself most curious as to his identity.

With her weight as an obvious advantage, Batool followed him to the ground [not that she had much of a choice anyways], and soon had him pinned under him, her own teeth tight around the back of his neck. She was pushing him into submission, where all men should be.

About to grin as his trick worked, Axiom gave a yelp of pain when he felt her teeth tear into his own flesh and then weezing violently when all the air wooshed out of him with another impact. The other wolf seemed to be made of solid muscle to weigh this much!

He didn't immediately let go of her flesh when she pushed him down, but did when she gave an added violent yank on the back of his neck. Obviously this one didn't want him dead or else that's what he'd be right about now.

"What do you want of me?" He asked, voice strained somewhat from the position.

"First submit to me, and then I shall tell you." Her voice was strangely calm, but was definately laced with malice and even a bit of amusement. It was always fun toying with the males. Always.

Considering his options, her suggestion seemed to be quite a good choice to take, and therefore he took it, lest she renig on the offer. "Then I submit. Tell me."

He could still trick her and outrun her back to the pack if he were desperate. That option wasn't really quite an option for him because Axiom was not about to go running back to Reicher for help.

Once done, Batool released her hold on the male, holding her head as an alpha would as she spoke, "Now then. You are in Reicher's pack I assume?"

There was a certain tone of loathing that accompanied Reicher's name, and Batool was pleased to see his positive reaction to her tone of choice. This may end up being most adventageous.

Axiom indeed had caught the tone that she had used, and looked at her as a golden oppertunity. Upon futher examination, Batool seemed to be the size of Reicher, maybe even bigger. In fact, her scent was the only dead giveaway that she was female. "Unfortunately, I am... He is leading the pack around this... land."

He sounded unsure of whether to even call this area land due to the shape it was in, but could not find another word to describe it for now. "And you, why did you not kill me... It was obvious you had the chance."

This bit of information pleased her even more, what a perfect pack member of Reicher's to have run into. "Because whether I dined on your carcass depended on the information given, and lucky for you I may be able to offer you a way out of this desolate place."

"A way out..." He considered this, and despite her attack on him, she had not lied to him yet or killed him for that matter. Still, he kept on his guard, as he always did. "What do you get out of this deal?"
PostPosted: Sun Oct 16, 2005 5:32 pm

Batool had been expecting such, and simply nodded with slight respect, he was a smart one too. A nice addition when the time came. Yes. "I offer you protection when you leave Reicher's pack, and you are to gather information."

By the time he left, everything should be in order and it will not just be her to offer as protection. "Unless that is... you'd rather stay her forever." She added, smirking down at the other wolf.

Gather information? So all he had to do was exist in the pack and absorb all the information? Not hard at all. "Alright. It is a deal then." If she didn't keep her word then she'd be just as dead as he was, so while he was still slightly wary, Axiom didn't have another way out.
