 The sky was just starting to cloud as a dull blue dragonfly submerged himself into a small stream. Due to his coloring, the dragonfly almost seemed to become part of the water. He dunked himself a couple of times as if he were a cookie being dipped into a cup of tea and then sunk down until the water was just below his eyes. He stood like that for a moment, simply breathing, as he relaxed into the water's flow. He then stood up and sloshed onto the shore, dripping wet.

 Dolce wandered through the forest clumsily, snapping branches and stomping loudly hoping to find a small unlucky animal that would be his next meal. He spotted a small stream, and hoping something edible would be lingering there, moved stealthly, and hiding behind the brushes. Much to his disappointment, he didn't find anything he could eat, but saw something emerge from the water. He decided the best thing to do would be to stay in his small hiding spot and watch this 'something'.

Aizen stood on the shore for a breath, watching the water drip from his body onto the sand under his feet. He then shook his body to dry it, water droplets flying in all directions. After a few shakes, he stopped and smiled at nothing in particular while he smoothed his fur back down. Once his fur was as close to tame as it was going to get, he began to head down stream.

Dolce watched the other dragonfly's habits curiously. Why had he been in the water in the first place? This dragonfly was intriguing to him...maybe he should watch him a little more. He slowly and silently followed the figure taking care as to not draw attention to himself. What was this dragonfly going to do now?

Aizen walked down stream a few yards and then stopped abruptly. He turned to face the stream, which had deepened in this area, and watched for any sign of movement within the waters. Just as he had guessed, fish of a blue color that was remarkably like his own were swimming obliviously in the stream. He smiled in triumph and sat by the edge of the water, debating with himself as to whether he should eat them or not. Giving a slow shrug to the fish, he stood and raised a blue paw above the waters, stilling his body to an almost statuesque quality. After a breath of not moving, he suddenly brought his paw down as quick as lightning and, with a flick of his wrist, scooped a medium-sized fish out of the water.

Dolce watched with interest at the dragonfly's precision and accuracy. He felt a twinge of jealousy and something else - it was his stomach growling. Sighing, and keeping his eye on the fish that was now in its paw, he slowly clambered out of the bushes and slowly walked towards the other one, sat down a few feet away from him, watching him with a child-like expression.

Bringing his paw down hard and fast, Aizen killed the fish instantly, so that the poor thing wouldn't need to suffer. He ran his nails over the fish's surface, deftly removing any large and potentially painful-to-swallow scales. Without looking up from his work, he spoke softly, "Why hello there. Who might you be?" His voice was calm, very much like water gliding over river rocks.

Dolce tilted his head to the side, "Me?" he said childishly, "I'm Dolce...can I have some of the fish? I'm very hungry." he watched as the fish was being prepared. "I'm mighty hungry." he nodded to himself, "Yeah. I'm very hungry." he said speaking to no one in particular. He started to hum to himself forgetting about the dragonfly's presence.

Aizen nodded calmly, merely choosing to raise an eyebrow at his strange companion. "I imagined you might be," he said, gesturing with his paw at the dead fish. "You can have the whole thing, if you'd like." Aizen had actually eaten not very long ago, when he'd caught a rabbit in the forest, and so he did not need the nourishment at this exact moment in time.

Dolce stood up and slowly inched toward the fish, taking it lightly in his mouth. He murmured a word of thanks and gulped down the fish quickly. Cleaning himself, he looked at the blue dragonfly. "What's your name anyways?" he was still hungry, but it was rude of him to ask him for more.

Aizen chuckled lightly at the speed with which his guest ate the fish. He smiled, turned to the river with a paw raised as before, and spoke quietly, his eyes never leaving the water. "I'm called Aizen. And if you're still hungry, I can catch another." He turned towards his guest, flashed him a smile, and then returned to watching the stream.

"Aizen..." he shook his head quickly, "No, no! It's fine! You don't have to go through all that trouble..." but his grumbling stomach told him otherwise. Dolce stared at this stomach and patted it, "That means that I'm full." he said embarrassed.

Aizen smiled warmly and chuckled. "Does it now? Well, just to be on the safe side, I think I'll catch just one more." He gave a friendly nod and within the next moment had caught another blue fish from the water. He killed it quickly, plucked the larger scales off, and pushed it towards his guest. "And what would your name be?" he asked as he offered the fish.

"Oh..okay then..." there was no use arguing right? He was getting another bit of food anyways. He stared at the precision of Aizen. "You seem very skilled in descaling." he swallowed the fish whole, "I'm Dolce." he smiled, "Do you live around here?"

So his guest's name was Dolce, was it? If memory served, Aizen thought that name might mean something along the lines of "sweet." He smiled warmly at the black dragonfly and said, "I'm very pleased to meet you, Dolce." At the mention of descaling, Aizen gave a chuckle and explained, "Well, when I was a pup, I tried to eat a fish without looking over the scales. I ended up getting a large one stuck in my throat and it gave me quite a scare. As a result, I've never forgotten that since." He flicked his tail absently as he answered the other question Dolce had posed, "And yes, I live in the area. I reside underneath a great tree just to the north of this little river. And you? Do you live around here?"
