Ok, the thread was getting really cluttered up with out of character posts, so I figured this would be helpful, since I'm guessing we really need to figure out where we're going from here. sweatdrop

I posted in the RP thread but I will post here as well. I am kind of confused as to what is going on in the RP. I could just jump in and post something, but I'd rather know the background of the story and what everyone is doing. Also, since people have been randomly using me in posts, I was wondering where I am right now and what I was doing so I can pick up from there. I saw that I was taking someone to Mustang to talk about the State Alchemist test, but I kind of need to know where Mustang is (if anyone has said) so I can go there. Arigatou minna-san.

Deep Despair Ashari the Warrior ((Wait, so we're in Risembool, right? And Astoreth and Kat are going to Central? And Reina's in Central? And where's Riku off to? And where's Ed? And if he's in Central, what are poor Envy and Arydra going to do? *suddenly grins evilly for no apparent reason*)) ((um...... im not quite sure i wanna know whats going on in your mind...... what, that we join up and take over the world? i dun think envy would do that.... ever...... so i dont know whats going through your head, missy)) I don't know what's going through your head. wink I just take far too much delight in role-play plotting, that is all. Forget taking over the world. Too much trouble. Who wants to rule the world? It's a terrible place. What a pain. wink I was just getting some interesting (though convoluted, as of yet) ideas about character dialogue exchange between Dearest Envy and Arydra. xp xd HaganeNoRenkinjutsushi: You're going to play Edward, yes? YAY!! We REALLY needed an Ed, and you save the day! *grin* Ok, quick summary...In the beggining, several characters boarded a train. These are the characters and their players. (Page indicates where thier profiles are.) Riku Illuser - Yuriku [pg. 1] Kat - Neko Kafweenu [pg. 1] Jinni - Deep Despair [pg. 1] Wolf - Wolf Girl Vash [pg. 1] (Jinni, Kat, and Riku were the most frequently posting characters.) The train was hijacked by some nasty people. We haven't really worked out who these people are or what thier motives are, but the point is, they got owned by these four characters, with the help of other that was on the train when it left the station, but joined the group after the rp got up to speed a bit. Ashtoreth - Light_Ashtoreth [pg. 4] After the bad guys were dispatched and the train was under control of the main operators again, this person showed up. Ashari the Warrior - Arydra Amalgama [pg. 4] She had noticed alchemy going on, though she's not an alchemist herself. She brandished a knife and demanded information about Edward Elric. Jinni said she knew some stuff, and Arydra challenged her to a fight to get the info out of her. After a little while into the fight, Jinni transformed, revealing herself to actually be Envy. (The only series character so far.) Everyone freaked out. Then, the train stopped. Originally it was scheduled for Rizembool, but because it got hijacked, it stopped in Central. Arydra ran off and her personality switched from nasty to sweet. (She's a skitzophrenic. Yes, I can't spell.) Envy turned into a dog and ran off, doing whatever dark deeds he does best. I don't know what Riku and Kat are up to. Ashtoreth is reporting to Mustang about what happened on the train - she's a State Alchemist. We also met this person in Central. Reina L. Nokigawa - Ladykai [pg. 8] Apparently she wants to take the Alchemy exam, bumped into Ed, and wants to be taken to Mustang. (I think?) I really don't know where Mustang is at this point in time. Probably in some office in Central, or else it would be very inconvenient for Ashtoreth and Reina to have to travel all the way to East City or something. wink I think that should about do it. Sorry that was so long! *sniff* Oh yes, I should tell you why Arydra is looking for Ed, since she's my character and you sort of might need to know. sweatdrop Like I might have mentioned, Arydra has two personalities. One is cold and cynical (and a very skilled knife fighter) and the other is a sensitive, sweet girl. She doesn't switch personalities very often, and will stay stuck in one for up to months at a time. Arydra met Ed once. The Arydra Ed met was the nice Arydra, and Ed doesn't know about the other one. Arydra had a serious crush on him (though whether that was returned at all is up to you...I doubt it though. wink ) But whether because of pity (that she liked him or he didn't) or because he really did dig her, he transmuted for Arydra an amulet. It's pure liquid mercury encased in a transparent diamond shell. It's shaped like the alchemic symbol for mercury. (Here's a picture of the symbol. It's the big green thing. Don't ask me why I made it green...I don't know. xp mrgreen ) There ya go! That should be everything. Sorry again for the length. sweatdrop

Okay, I have a slight issue with where to begin in the RP. I am unsure what to be doing and where I would be at this point. I am also wondering if I ever became a "dog of the military" as my brother did, in the efforts to regain him in this world.
That said, I think I have a few ideas of what to do, but it seems to be that Alphonse has a serious case of the "lost puppy" syndrome, following Ed around a lot.

Thanks! whee Alphonse: I don't really know where you could come in either...I was a bit surprised that Ed decided to join the so late in his timeline...he's 18 and stuff...*hasn't seen the end of the series yet, but knows what happens anyway*

It's a little puzzling, because the movie clearly shows me back in the "can" again, and I am not sure how this happened to me another time. Of course, I can make a few good guesses, most of them involving another moving of Ed's body and lost arm, as well as possibly lost knowledge. (I hate when a story does that to a character. Memory loss is the one thing I have a hard time coping with.)

*facefaults after reading the FMA RP thread* People, please, you need to be reading what is going on around you before posting! gonk
Somehow one of the OC characters, the one played by Ladykai, has been at Ed's side the entire time he was in Mustang's office, while no one noticed? I saw that she was basically left in the entryway of the Military HQ by Edward, and he had gone off without her down a hall. (This seemed rather obvious and intentional to me.)
Now, we have a character who has warped through time and space to be in a new location (right at Ed's side) to ask him, as a person who seems to know him and be friends with him, what was going on and where she was? This makes no sense to me, and I cannot follow how this happened.
Please take into account what has happened since you posted last, and try to make some rational explaination (at least an attempt) for how you have been able to follow someone that ditched you. Show that you are in motion when you are trailing behind someone so the rest of the RP can follow your actions.
Was there some new breakthrough in alchemy that allowed such a feat of bending space to occur? Is this a trick of someone, who is really a Humunculus, created by use of the Gate and some psuedoscience not yeat dreamed of? I WANNA KNOW! These kinds of things affect how this reality functions, and every one alters that a great deal. I am not referring to just the movement of this character, but also of the spontaneous appearance of the bomb at the train station.
HellDriver12 - You action of making a bomb appear and explode behind you was very random, and you did not allow anyone to react before you left the area. I have already edited what my post said to account for how I was dealing with you and your post. No offense, but you changed the whole dynamic of the RP in one post, then acted like you could just walk away and head for the Military HQ of the wholoe country without anyone even blinking.
Consider, for a moment, that you lived past the bomb exploding. I feel the shockwave from behind me, turn to look, and see a massive amound of destruction behind me. Out of that maelstrom, you come walking, as though this was nothing to think much about. What am I spuused to think?
I would see you acting like that and assume you knew about the bomb. That makes you either the cause of it or someone who is alright with it going off. Either way, that means you are evil, and need to be detained. I would use force against you to stop you from leaving, and we would likely have a fight on your hands.
My reaction is only to detain because I play Alphonse, not Ed/Roy/Riza, who all would have crippled you or even just killed you outright for what just happened and how you reacted. You can still interrogate a suspect down a limb or four, after all. stare Many other characters I play would have simply killed you and moved on to trying to help the injured.
If we are to continue this RP as I would any other, Al will no longer be as much of a pacifist as he once was. Taking a life is a major deal to him, but ewhrn others around him are dying he may be pushed past his moral and ethical limits. This means a character that the series hinges upon will change drasticly. Make sure there is some reason for this before you act.
Another button of mine was stomped on when someone misspelled a word, then added (sp?) behind it, like this fixed it. If you are concerned about your spelling, use a program with a spell checking feature to create your post (MS Word is good for this) and edit it prior to posting in Gaia. Then, just cut and paste the text into the Gaia posting window. This is not a bad way to go when Gaia is bogging down a bit, because if the screen errors out while it's trying to post you won't lose all your hard work.
And, one final bit before I end my rant: making a bomb appear or some other such act so you have a "cool entrance" is not only poor style in a serious RP, it's also a show that your skills of manipulating a situation are lacking. Please work on this. Bettering your own literary skills will pay off in the long run, anyhow. If you need helpwith this, many of us have our contact information posted on Gaia. Ask for advice from one of the veterans, and we will not likely turn you down.
(Just please ask nicely. Everyone really likes politeness. One lesson in ettiquite is from the Star Wars movies. If you speak to your fellows in the same tone as an imperial storm trooper who is addressing Darth Vader, you cannot go wrong. No reason to do otherwsie, really. Darth Vader is exceedingly polite as well, even when he is throttling someone who has failed him "for the last time." His tone is not happy, but his words sure are polite. 3nodding )

Envy-san brings up an excellent point. You should never ask to be a Mod. The position is entrusted to someone who appears to be capable, not someone who thinks they are. In this way the best person for the job can be chosen, and no one need feel upset over being turned away.
Also, and this is something I have seen many times in the past, if you are asking for a position that has authority you are usually not the best one to fill it. The people who seem to do the best job are those who had no desire for such a position, yet are qualified for it. It's almost ironic that it works out this way.
