This is a post that I will lovingly call "When Nice People Do Stupid Things"

Yes, this is a friend of mine. She and I hang out in real life. (Wow, friends, wow real life?) She posted this on a board we use in our home state- She's kind of a backwoods girl and speaks better than she can write/type. She's an adult...belive it or not. Anyway, she was looking for opinions so I thought "What the heck....why not". I'll hold me opinion as I am still in shock.

(EL, if you'd like her e-mail address I can give it to you. It'll save you time in looking for this post elsewhere and telling her that we are being mean or whatever.)

I wanted to share my new stud with everyone.I finally got what I was always wanting.Meet Complete Prints. He is a APHA chestnut overo. He stands at 15 hands and 23 months old. Will be staying a stud as well.
Stud Head

Ok well I will give you more info on him.LOL He is a coming 2 yr old (Feb.27th).He stands 15 hands. He is still a stallion and right now will stay one.Though he will not be breed for another few years.I can get him reg. in the Breeders Trust fund. But heard it was going to cost a bit but going to check in to it.
The deal with him is that I had a nice mare that they lady just had to have. And he is what I have always wanted so she told me that if I could w/t/c her that she would be willing to trade me even.We have been talking for about a month now about him over the computer till just the other day we started talking on the phone as well.So she finally desided that if I could ride her while I was there and she done good that she would trade me.So we drove over to Geneva and I rode her and then we traded. There is nothing wrong with him.He is well mannered and nice and stout. We both also have to aggreement that each of us have first right buy back if either of them leave us.So he is mine now.Im going to start working him for halter soon.Going to see what is on for local bigger shows around here and that aloud stallions and see what he can do.His sire is custom imPrint.I will post a link to the all breed pedigree as well on him.

Please tell me what you think of him.Dont hold anything back but one thing..LOL I know a bunch of you dont like stud's and think that all should be geldings and all but I want to know what you think of his color and comformation.Though I also know they pictures need to be a little better I will try to get out there tomorrow and get some better pictures.

She should register him to the APHA (right not it's very cheap to register), AQHA, JC, or yes the BT.

He needs more muscle, but he is young so of course he won't have much.
His nostrils are a bit small... His hind end is high but that could be because hes still growing. His color meets the paint horse requirements.

Other than that he looks fine.

Wow you got the High Croup right on him EL

His back is a bit too small, and he'll probablly not be AQHA registered b/c of all his white he CAN However be AQHA Stallion cert. if she chooses to keep him one I how ever would not b/c of his short back and how short/straight his legs are. With work and time he'll be an OK Halter Horse

He is a young horse.. of course his back end woulden't be all muscle..
Why would this horse not be able to register for AQHA? eek
He could register for both AQHA and APHA.

This horse as neither a short/straight back or legs.

It's hard to say too much since he's young... there's a lot that he could theoretically still grow out of. Like the being seriously downhill. He could balance out as he matures, but a lot of QH stallions are downhill anyway. His neck looks really little to me. Not just undermuscled, but not in proportion with the rest of his body. Could also be still growing though, I don't know. He back does look a little short, and his pasterns look like they might be a bit long. Anyone else see that? Specifically the front pastern just looks like it goes on for miles to me. The hind looks really upright, but that could be the way he's standing. His hocks also look like he might be a bit post-legged. Again, not entirely sure. I don't have the best eye for conformation. He is certainly flashy, and has a very cute face.
The more I'm looking at those hocks the more post-y they're seeming to me. And there's something I don't like about the knees either, but I could just be looking for trouble at this point.

A lot of it is probably just the awkwardness because hes still young..
But if you look up a model paint he /almost/ fits the picture.

Equine Love what would the benefits be for registering him to all those different things?

His sire is Impresive bred. I wonder if they had him tested for HYPP.

If I was going to get a quarter horse it would be Poco Bueno bred. I admire that horse.

Perhaps you could post a picture of this ideal Paint horse, so that those of us who are seeing him as short-backed and straight-legged could more easily compare the two?

They are all suggestions, I'm not saying she should register him in all of them.
