Mkimya was humming to herself. It was early morning, but she had gotten up a few hours ago, when the stars were bright and the moon was high in the sky. She took her eyes away from the sky and look to where she was headed. She had no more ties now, and found herself wanting more fawn. Her mate previously, had left her to raise their fawn on her own, never to return. She hadn't seen him since, not that she wanted to. She wished for more little ones around though. To bear life within her belly was just amazing to her. To bring life into the world.
A small sad smile came to Mkimya's maw as she trotted forward.

[Banner] Leini was out on her normal early morning hunt, though today, she had caught something swiftly. She would drag it back to her family and go out ago. After all, Machu needed to eat as she did. She didn't mind hunting for her mate. It helped get her back in shape, as she was pratically confined to the den and slept a lot during her pregnacy. The small calf was left at the entrance of the cave and Leini started out agian. The early morning air felt wonderous on her skin that lay beneath her thickening fur.
She kept forward this time, walking rather aimlessly. Sudden;y, she stopped, spotting a rather familiar looking preybeast. A Klipspringer, she knew the species, but the beast's scent struck her as familiar. Offspring of someone she once knew. "Klipspringer!" She called to the beast.

The golden eyed klisprpinger turned her head towards the source of the voice. A white and grey dog. Some patched on the dogs fur were darker, more of a brown color, than the rest of the body. With a hesitated step, she walked towards the dog. The hesitation was breif; just a flick of the ear and a twitch of a nose. The dog, she could tell it was female, smelled freshly of blood though. The dog, she hoped, wouldn't hunt her as well. "Hello," Mkimya said softly. Her eyes were bright, shining in the light.

Leini smiled at the klipspringer. She was glad it didn't run. Why would a preybeast not run form a predator? It was strange though, that the creature didn't run. She pondered breifly if the Klipspringer had come across many dogs. "Hello," Leini responded back. She wondered if she should tell why she cried out for the Klipspringer.

"I'm Mkimya, daughter of Chachili." Mkimya introduced herself formally. She rarely did, but the dog before her was powerful, she could feel it, and it made her insticts kick in greatly. She dipped her head respectfully to the dog and didn't meet the familiar red eyes in a gaze.

Leini dipped her head as well, the creature was brave. Her eyes sparkled at the name. Chachili, she knew that name. A friend of her father. "No need for formalities, we're practically family," Leini informed the wild dog. Her eyes were mitrhful, but she introduced herself as well. "I'm Leini, daughter of Delu'Elon and Koin," she stated, watching the Klipspringer with intrest to see how she would react.

Mkimya's eyes widened. The offsrping of her mother's friend. Koin... He was a strangely happy dog, he was, but that didn't matter. He was still a friendly dog and ultimately make Mkimya more comfortable around the creatures. "I finally get to meat one of you. Hard to believe, one of nine. I don't know how your mother did it, honestly," Mkimya said with a light laugh. "I could barely manage birthing a single fawn and raise him well." Mkimya sighed. "Do you still live with your family, Leini?"

Red eyes sparkled even more. Happiness and mirth combined into one. "I completely agree. I'm glad my first litter was of only one..." Leini could almost feel her heart tear in two at the mention of Dejiki. "My second litter was of six and they're hard enough to keep together as it is." A proud smile crossed the dog's features. She was proud of her family now, nothing could change that. She had sixwounderously beatiful pups to love and look after. "I don't live with my parents though, no... Do you still?" Klispspringers were herd animals, where they not. Once birthed, they stay? She didn't know really. She hadn't really sat down and had a serious talk with a klipspringer.
Then again, though, Dogs were pack creatures. Once born though, most were free to leave and start their own families. Her family in particular, had this strange sense of travel that would carry her everywhere. The strain of staying in one place and seeing the samel thing everyday bore down on her, but she was determined not to leave her family this time. Never again... never!

"You're a mother, then. Koin's a grandfather," Mkimya chuckled a bit. It was strange. Her own mother was a grandmother as well, but it seemed strange. So surreal now. She could remember being an adventous little fawn. It was strange to reminise. "I don't live with my mother anymore, no. I visit her on occasion though. I haven't seen your father in a while however," Mkimya stated. She was unsure if her mother had seen Koin. She didn't know. She never asked about the white and blood-colored dog. It was strange talking to the dog like an old friend. She never met her, and even if she did, she obviously didn't remember too well.

Leini gave a nod. That was simply how it was. She missed her father in a sense. She never really knew him, having run away just before she could be considered a juvinile. This caused her to not know how to hunt until adolescent. It made her rely on her last mate, Inyoni for most meals until he taught her. It was probably why they mated. Some sick twisted fairytale gone wrong. "It's alright. I'll find him again sometime, as the wing blows in this direction often. He'll come around eventually to meet his grandchildren." Leini smiled.

It was almost an awkward silence for a moment. They were two very different creatures with two very different mindsets. But suddenly, Mkimya spoke. "Tell me about your children," Mkimya asked, though it sounded more like a demand. It broke the silence that loomed between them. It served to make the atmosphere more comfortable for the both of them. They both had children, making the subject their common ground; a place to meet in the middle.

Leini's eyes lit up at the mentions of children. She could go on and on about her beautiful children; her pups. "My oldest, Dejiki, looked like his father. He was so sweet... I miss him dearly," Leini commented. There was a distant look in her eye for a moment. Like she was overcoming a few demons of her past. The mostly white dog shook her head lightly with a soft smile on her face. "My current litter, six of them, they are, so beautiful," Leini stated with such pride. Only a mother could feel this pride. "Four boys and two girls. They look a lot like their father. Little Keki looks like me though," the proud comment came. Leini gave a small wag of her tail.
"What about you, Mkimya? Your pup, tell me about him."

Mkimya listened to Leini describe her pups with interest. She was interested in Leini's Family... Koin's grandchildren. Mkimya was sudden;y feeling slightly old. She could be a grandmother already and not even know it, like Koin was. The thought, though, made her smile.
"What about you, Mkimya? Your pup, tell me about him."
She smiled. Her pup... Fawn, really, was so beautiful. "He's a darling boy, he is. He looks a lot like my sister and his father. He's shy and gentle, but more energetic now that he's grown. I never thought he would come out of his shell." Mkimya commented thoughtfully. She missed her fawn, even though he was grown. It was strange to see him off and she found herself hoping he would come by. Soon, if at all.

Leini's smile was bright. "And your pup, what's his name?" Leini asked with the slightest curiosity. After all, she wanted to know the little klisprpinger who was practically her cousin through link of her father. Chachili was practically an Aunt after all. A great aunt to her pups. It was a strange family indeed, but family all the same.

Mkimya gave a shy laugh. She never gave her fawns name. She usually never talked about her beloved fawn to strangers. Everyone sh e knew personally had know her fawns name already and Mkimya felt she knew the dog on a personal level already. It was... strange. "His name is Kucha..."
