Skolir: *Wanders over to Persona* Hello there youngling. ^^

Persona walked into the woods looking for something to play with. His brothers and sisters were playing tag and they kept making him 'it'. He thought it was unfair and had rushed off pouting. He found a frog and tossed it around for a while until it got away. "You don't want to play with me either huh!" Everything was so unfair it seemed. Pout, pout, pout, he kept pouting along until at one point he heard a voice from above. Who's there, he though. He was a little bit startled and so he kept his eyes on the ground and said, "Uh, hello..."

Skolir, not meaning to but obviously startling the young Dragonfly, takes on a softer tone to his voice. "Opps, didn't mean to catch you by suprise like that. Lets try this again. Hello, my name is Skolir, and yours is?"

persona's nerves relaxed when the elder spoke softer. He took the time to look up this time staring at Skolir. He was pretty colors Persona thought, a little bit like the frog he had been playing with earlier. Persona continued pouting because of pride. He did not want to seem like an easy influenceable dragonfly. "My name is Persona..."

Seeing that he calmed the other Dragonfly, Skolir knelt down into a more relaxed position. "That's a nice name, young one. Tell me, are you all alone out here, or do you have sibblings hiding amongst the trees? Or, an even better question would be where is your mother and father?" Skolir lifted an eyebrow softly and waited for the responce.

Persona was wondering why he was being asked all these questions. Was the elder afraid he was lost? Persona knew very well he was not lost, just a few steps back, by the big puddle and he was back at the den. He frowned at the elder, "I'm not sure where my parents went off to but I know VERY well where my brothers and sisters are and I don't even care!" He spat out his words. Thet thought of his siblings mae him so frustrated.

Persona's sudden malevolence startled Skolir. His eyes widened for a brief moment before slowly making their way back to their orrgional width. "It seems to me as if you are not very pleased with your kin. Have they offended you in some way? I remember as a youngling I used to be the peacemaker of my family. My brothers and sisters were constantly fighting. There's one thing you must remember about your family, though. Nomatter how bad things get, you only get one family in a lifetime, and they all care for you deeply." Skolir noded as he finished, feeling, hoping, that he had quelled whatever had orrigionally angered Persona.

Persona snorted. He had seen a dragonfly have this sarcastic reaction once when their friend had told them he could hunt really big rabbit. Persona didn't believe in what Skolir had just said. Why would his siblings care anyway? To Persona they all fought to be the best and everyone ganged up to make him last. "If they truly cared why would they always make me lose when we play hide and seek?"

Skolir thought for a moment. "Perhaps, they make you "it" because they have more fun when you are looking for them. Think of it more as an honor than an insult. Everybody gets to hide, but only one person is allowed to go searching." Skolir paused for a moment, then continued. "Also, you could think of it as a form of training. Because you are so much more often the one searching rather than the one hiding, your skills as a hunter are being honed, and soon your sibblings will stand no chance of hiding from you for long, for you will be superior at finding all that is hidden from you." Skolir concluded with a slight smile.

Persona giggled, still frowning. He did find it amusing being the best at hide and seek with his siblings. Skolir was being very inciteful but Persona just didn't want to make sense of it, he just didn't. "No no no. Even if I think being 'it' is good, they don't. They just pick on me." He started pondering about them, laughing when he called out to them and told them he was stopping playing.

"Yes, that is still a problem. Well, the best advice I can give is to not let them see that it gets to you. They will get board of it eventually." Skolir then looked to the sky, and frowned. "It seems to be past mid-day already. My, how time flies when one does not pay attention to it."

Persona started wondering how he could take revenge on his siblings. Maybe make them eat fruit with worms, or maybe next time he'll make sure they're tag and not him. Skolir started talking about the time of day. Persona looked up with him and asked, "Is mid-day late?"

"Well, I suppose not, but it seems as if I just arose from my slumber, and now half the day is gone. Actually, I almost forgot what I had planned to do today." Skolir replied, looking back towards Persona. "I orrigionally wanted to make my way down towards the Sidewinder and see if I can't catch a few fish. Since you don't seem to be entirely too buisy, would you like to accompany me?"

Persona listen to the elder without paying too much attention. When the Skolir asked him if he wanted to go fish with him he felt pretty good. He wondered if his family would be looking for him but then he came to think that they were having just as much fun without him. He jumped up and smiled, "I sure would like to accompany you!"

"Very well, then let us make haste, before the day dwindels on any more"
((I'm just gonna skip through the little journey to the river))
It was an hour later that Skolir found himself and his traveling companion in front of the crystal-clear azure river known as the Sidewinder, dubbed so because of the way it wound it's way through the Di'jai forest. "Here we are, Persona. The Sidewinder." Skolir took a few steps forward, then shifted to his Elf form. He then proceded to jump lightly into the water, barely making a splash.

Persona enjoyed the walk to the river but felt exausted due to the long distance. He looked at Skolir as they arrived. He smiled but laid back on a mound of dirt, taking his breath to eventually go fishing. As he relaxed Skolir had turned into his elf form. Persona had never seen this and lay in his corner amazed.

Skolir arose from the water, a fish already in his hands. "I know that must have seemed like a long journey for you, so please take your rest. It's been a long time seince I've traveled with another, so I am sorry for not taking into account the fact that you must not be used to traveling for such a legnth of time." Jumping out of the water, Skolir made his way to Persona, and placed the fish down in front of him. "Here, I'll go catch more for myself, but you seem to need some fuel more so than me." Tsurugi turned and made his way to the river's bank, just a few feet away, but instead of jumping back in, he sat down and let his feet dangle in the water, letting it swirl around his toes in strange designs.

Persona giggled at the sight of an elf swimming around in the water. Skolir stepped out of the water with fish in his hands. Persona started to salivate, enjoying the idea of sticking his teeth in the funny looking wriggling fish. He jumped around as the elder stuck the fish infront of him. "Thanks!" He yelped. He quickly started chewing on the fish and watched Skolir walk back to the river.

Soon he had gobbled the whole thing up and trotted to Skolir's side. "I'm gonna jump in alright?"

"Only if you think that you can withstand the current. I'm not trying to undermine your stregnth, but the last thing I want to have to do is explain your sudden disappearence to your parents" Skolir responded. Turning away from Persona, Skolir slipped into the river. "If you'd like, I could teach you how to fish without chasing after the fish like a savage" Skolir turned back to Persona, smiling.

Persona stood at the edge of the water agitated. He wanted to jump in and held a big grin on his face. Skolir spoke of the current taking him away. Persona was a little bit worried but he was still so anxious. Boy were the fish good in this river, "Oh sure!"

"Ok then, wait there while I wade out into deeper water" Skolir dove under the curent of the Sidewinder, just to pop up in the center of the river just a second later. "The first thing you aught to know is that the fish are sensative to movements in the water. It only takes one slightly fast movement to send them swiming off in the oposite direction. Once you understand that, the rest is easy." Skolir took a quick breath, then continued. "Decide which way the water is running, it is this direction that the fish are likely to swim, because they are lazy creatures at heart." Skolir smiled at this, remembering at how lazy he used to be as a youngling. "Then, all you have to do is stay very still and put your front paws out in front of you, letting your hind legs support your body weight. Your body will cause a shadow to appear in the river bed, which the fish will likely swim to, thinking you are a form of protection, like that of a fallen tree in the river. Once a fish is practically in your hands, slowly close your paws around it, and you will have your dinner." Skolir demonstrated, catching a fish within a the span of ten seconds. He let it back into the river after showing Persona. "Now you try."
