~~The world is Ioron, (think of a Lord of the Rings-ish world, but with many more major races and magick-users) the kingdom of Ralthar, which is fairly neutral territory. Some magick users, some non-magick users. This is the continent of Avaria, the most magickal of the five major continents and spanning one-fourth of all Ioron. In my world, there is no 'gay' because couples are just couples. Same gender couples are the same as straight gender, so it's fine to have boy love. (although-there's always those jerks who can't just leave well enough alone..)~
SUMMARY: Ryksas seduces X, a less-than popular fellow student. He humiliates him in front of the whole school afterwards by revealing it was just for a bet and asks why he thought Ryksas want to be with a dog like him.. X tells his cousin and the cousin (a wizard) gets even by having Ryksas knocked out and brought to his castle where Ryksas is locked in the dungeon till the next morning. Lyren (the cousin) brings X in and tells Ryksas to apologize, he doesn't and is in fact quite rude about it, calling X a dog again. X runs back upstairs and is just as much angry as hurt, and so he is more pleased than bothered when Lyren brings a box to X's room, containing a part-dog, part-human Ryksas wearing the leather collar with an obedience spell on it to be X's own pet.
And later, Ryksas's cousin comes to call, looking for his cousin. This is Y (your other character) and he'll agree to let Ryksas stay a dog for two weeks, hoping that it will bring back the cousin that he used to be so close to rather than the jerk. Meanwhile, he'll be falling in love with Lyren.

Ryksas Almerayr (Rick-sus) (Al-mer-rare) aged nineteen, attends the Calvril Academy, a very high class school with various classes that include the core classes. (think of it as college) To attend, you must pass a written and vocal test and have some special skill that sets you apart. Ryksas can control the weather, a rare gift. The gift puts him in the elemental class, but he shows no signs of other magickal ability. Calvril does not accept wizards, sorcerers, enchanters etc.. His control is shaky though, if he gets to angry it might thunderstorm and he has no way to control it if it goes to far. Not wanting anyone to know this, he simply lets people think he has the uncanny ability to predict weather. He's quite popular, a well-liked fellow and an object of desire for many a female and males at the school.
X (your character-give her name) aged nineteen, has the special talent of (give him a talent) he's got no friends save for a boy a two years older he thinks of as a brother named Dominik. He's always defended X and been kind to X. But X could never bring himself to think of Dominik as more than a brother, and vice versa. Lyren is grateful to Dominik. Lyren is twenty-three, two years older than Dominik, and is also X's cousin. Lyren and X live together in a castle deep in the forest. Lyren is the head wizard of the family, X is the head (sorcerer-(deals with many magicks but often things like transformations, matter alterations, illusions) Enchanter-(deals with allure magicks, illusions, fantasy creation magicks, sometimes dream magicks) Necromancer-(death magick, can bring the dead back to life, converse with spirits, reanimate corpses, etc..) (choose ONE) Neither has parents to speak of. (this doesn't mean they're dead..they just aren't around at the moment)
X has never had a romantic relationship..at least, not till Ryksas. Or so he thought. Ryksas began paying attention to him, being kind and giving him flowers and such things. And overwhelmed by the handsome, roguish attentions of Ryksas, X readily agreed to be his boyfriend and gave Ryksas his first kiss. Ryksas even got X's shirt off by telling him all sorts of sweet nothings. Love being one of them. Normally X is an intelligent, sharp young man. But faced with Ryksas and his first relationship, he was putty in his hands. Also, X has secretly always had feelings for Ryksas..not that he ever thought it would matter. The next day he came to school with a mirror-image capturer (sort of like a camera..except that it's a mirror and the images fade usually) he showed their kiss (though thankfully not shirt bit) and told everyone how easy it was to seduce him, and as it turned out, he'd done so on a bet with his friends. The prize was a joke really, a black leather dog collar, he'd held it in front of X as he nearly burst into tears and Ryksas asked if X wanted it? And why X ever thought Ryksas would want to be with a dog like him. (Dog meaning stupid/ugly)
X ran from school in miserable tears and confided in Lyren. X went to bed and Lyren sent out some of her vassals who captured Ryksas, knocked him unconscious, and locked him in the dungeons. When X woke up, he was led by Lyren to the dungeon. Ryksas was given a chance to apologize (not knowing that X and Lyren have magick since pure magick beings-wizards/witches/etc.. aren't allowed at school) but he refuses and torments X further. X goes upstairs and Lyren casts a spell on him, making him sleep while he turned Ryksas into a part-dog, part-human. She then got her vassals to put him in a box and bring him upstairs and then into X's room. Ryksas by then will have woken up and he can't see inside the box so he doesn't know what's happened yet..until the box opens. ~

~The story will start with Lyren leading X into the dungeon where Ryksas will further torment X. And then the bit about the box will start and we'll go from there. Ryksas is wearing the black leather prize collar, and it's cursed with an obedience spell. He has to do whatever Lyren or X commands, and anytime he makes X sad he'll turn into a true dog until X sets him right again by commanding him to be in the other form. X doesn't have to be the angry loner type, he can be the sad, lonely type. As long as he has a temper, he has to be able to take some revenge on Ryksas which shouldn't be too hard. He humilated X and tormented X, seduced him all for a bet and then called him a dog.
He should have plenty of anger and bitterness to work with. Treating Ryksas like a dog is good, calling him 'doggy' 'good boy' petting him and whatnot, making him walk on all fours, tugging on his dog ears. He should be made to eat out of a dog dish at least once. And anytime he's annoying X with his big mouth, X can force him to be able to only bark. Ryksas will sleep on the ground beside X's bed, like a dog. While X is taking revenge, he'll also be fighting back feelings for Ryksas. He's the first boy X has ever loved (even before Ryksas showed any interest in him) and X kind of hopes that he might train Ryksas to be a good boy in another way, (as in-be nice and fall in love with X)~ X doesn't have to treat him like a dog always though, just to irritate him sometimes, teach him a lesson and whatnot. Whatever you decide to do is fine. I just wanted to make a point that he needs a little lesson in humility.
Also, school is over since it was a big end of the year prank. Meaning that no one will be too worried if Ryksas goes missing for awhile. And obviously no one will recognize him as part-dog,
part human form, so at some point X should take him into town on a leash as if he were just a pet as sort of her version of the public humilation he gave him. Maybe play some fetch. (bearing in mind that in Avaria, not so animalistic pets/slaves are acceptable) ~
Lyren meanwhile needs a lover, (possibily so does Dominik-but we'll get to that later) Y ( Your other character-give him a name) is Ryksas's older cousin. He and Ryksas used to be as thick as thieves and as close as brothers. Then Ryksas started being a jerk (for reasons that Y doesn't know) and they drifted over the past two years. He's never missed a birthday though, and Ryksas's birthday is in two days. He's gone to the house to find him and seen he's gone, and he'll trace him magickally back to the castle. Y will of course, recognize his cousin and demand of Lyria (who he'll find first) that he be changed back. (this conversation will take place before Ryksas knows Y is there) Lyren will explain and Y will be adamant that the spell be ended within two weeks time. But not right away because he feels sorry for X, and because he hopes this might teach his little cousin a lesson and get the Ryksas he loves and misses back again. Also, the condition that Y be allowed to stay and make sure his cousin stays well and whatnot. Y will spend time with Ryksas and offer him comfort, but at any mention of Y helping him change back Y will just feign amusement and sort of brush it off. That's how he and Lyren will eventually fall in love <3 Don't bring Y in until at least eight pages in though please.
As for Dominik-you can give him a lover if you want. Any kind. My recommendation would be a servant in the castle (if you're looking for a less-haughty role) or a male relative of X and Lyren's whose come to visit. He would be a b****ier character or haughty if he was a relative. Or if you have another idea, go for it. If you don't want to be Dominik's lover at all, then that's fine. ~
