I'd be glad to SET it on the ground or any nearby surface and walk away.

Like in Hot Fuzz when the doctor orders Danny to drop his shotgun so he throws it down and it goes off shredding the doctors foot. xd

But what I could see as a likely outcome is that they told him to drop it and he didn't want to fearing damage, cops got an itchy trigger finger and blasted him.

Its somewhat understandable the cops reaction; guy was firing blanks, which sound remarkably like real gunshots. Gunshots generally mean armed and dangerous. As for them shooting and killing, that was an overreaction in our day and age, especially with tools like the rubber slug, the Taser, and XREP available. Instead, the police chose to abandon the "protect" part of the "To Serve and Protect" promise and used lethal force. ******** cops...

Quote: Miles Murphy, who was identified by the University of Washington where he was studying, was shot several times at his Seattle apartment early Thursday after police said he pointed a rifle affixed with a bayonet at officers and refused orders to drop the weapon. The police were justified in shooting him. They didn't know he was using blanks, and he pointed the firearm at them after refusing to put it down.

Stoic Socialist Quote: Miles Murphy, who was identified by the University of Washington where he was studying, was shot several times at his Seattle apartment early Thursday after police said he pointed a rifle affixed with a bayonet at officers and refused orders to drop the weapon. The police were justified in shooting him. They didn't know he was using blanks, and he pointed the firearm at them after refusing to put it down. They could have just said that. Was there anyone impartial that witnessed it? Dash cam? The Protect and Serve is a glorified motto. Unless they're around every citizen they can't really protect. Most of what they do is, Protecting the law, and Serving the Government.

OberFeldwebel They could have just said that. Was there anyone impartial that witnessed it? Dash cam? That could be said about nearly everything.
Did we really land on the moon? Was the Holocaust real? Are there actually planets besides earth?
Personally, I haven't seen any of the above. I could have seen faked ones, video editing isn't THAT hard.
Sure, lame, and in exaggerated proportions, but I fail to see why it's different. I trust my teachers with what they teach me, and I trust LEOs with what they tell me. I don't have a reason not to, I'm not a Loonie/Bolshevik/Anarcho-Primitivist. smile
